Roses are quite popular among flowers, especially as a symbol of love. draw a rose not easy - they consist of many layers of petals. You need to carefully add them one by one to the drawing, and only then darken the whole structure. In this tutorial, I will briefly show you how to do this if you wish. draw a rose from a sketch, without relying on photographs of real flowers. If you want to work from photographs, you can find any on the Internet.

You should get this drawing:

How to draw a rose

What you will need:

hard pencil(NV);
- medium soft pencil (2B or slightly less);
- soft pencil (5V or less);
- paper;
- sharpener.

Step 1
Start drawing with a hard pencil an outline in the form of a drop / egg. This will be the inner rosebud. The pencil should barely touch the paper.

Step 2
Draw the "opening" part.

Step 3
Draw the petals inside.

Step 4
Enclose these petals in a heart-shaped outline - this will be the border of the next petals.

Step 5
Connect the "heart" with the rest of the bud - you get the shape of a petal.

Step 6
Another heart...

...connected to the bud.

Step 7
Draw the heart again, but this time make it less even and more open.

The lines connecting it to the bud will create a depth effect if you direct them correctly.

Step 8
At this stage, we need to add more petals. Their placement will be more difficult in the future, so be careful:

Step 9
We need to fit the bud into the "bowl" of petals. First, draw the small petals...

... and then more petals.

Step 10
The rest of the petals should slope down more and more.

Step 11
When you're done, outline the lines you want to emphasize in the final drawing by pressing down on the pencil.

Step 12
Take a softer pencil and darken the inner fragments of the rose. First draw with light strokes ...

…and then press harder to get a richer shadow.

Step 13
With the same pencil, place accents on the tips of the petals. Don't highlight everything!

Step 14
Take a hard pencil again and use it to outline the light texture of the "lit" parts. The more shadow on the fragment, the brighter you need to draw the lines.

Step 15
Take your softest pencil and add the finishing touches to the shading - especially in the darkest creases.

The most famous and sought after flower, at all times, is the rose. Not surprisingly, there is often interest in how to draw a rose. After all, it is given for various holidays, depicted in illustrations on greeting cards etc. This can be easily explained, because despite the sharp thorns, the rose has an incredibly nice smell and sophisticated look. Count a large number of types and shapes of the petals of this flower, but today in my step by step lesson, we will learn how to draw a standard rose. No matter what the drawing will be depicted with a simple pencil, view beautiful flower does not lose power.

Tools and materials:

  1. White sheet of paper.
  2. Simple pencil.
  3. Eraser.

Stages of work:

Photo 1. First of all, we create a shape for the future flower, namely, draw a circle:

Photo 2. Draw another shape in the middle of the circle. In its shape, it will resemble a grain:

Photo 3. We begin to draw the middle of the rose. In the center, the petals are very close to each other, so let's outline their peeking tips:

Photo 4. Add a petal on the right. Its upper part will be with a sharp end. Do not forget this considering all the petals. Note that the growth of the petal starts from the central rounded shape:

Photo 5. On the left, draw another petal, and also outline a shadow on it. It is located at the base:

Photo 6. Now let's draw a petal from above. It is located between two petals and will resemble a slightly square shape:

Photo 7. We continue to add the petals of our rose. This time we will draw small curved petals on the left and bottom:

Photo 8. The outer petals will be the largest of the entire flower. We make the ends sharp, and the shape is a little square:

Photo 9. We complete the construction of the rose. It is not scary if the ends of the petals slightly extend beyond the previously outlined circle. After all, this flower has no strictly defined boundaries:

Photo 10. Erase all unnecessary lines with an eraser:

Photo 11. We begin to impose a shadow on the middle of the rose. We make strokes from the place of growth of the petal to the top:

Photo 12. Let's draw the edges of the petals and the middle, outline their clear shape:

Photo 13. From the middle we continue to lay a shadow on the nearby petals. The place where the petals grow will always be darker than the edges:

Photo 14. We will draw a shadow at the place where the petals grow, and also add a little along the edge. This technique allows you to make the drawing more voluminous:

Photo 15. We continue to add shadow to the rest of the petals, mainly on the right side of the rose:

Photo 16. We finish working out the shadow on the flower. We make the left part of the petals darker than the rest, because the light falls more on the right:

Creative people are always on the lookout for ideas and try their hand at different areas. Someone sculpts from clay, someone or rolls toys from wool, and not always these are people who have received a special art education. Often such people try to draw, but do not know how to approach this process. For example, how to draw roses. The flower is beautiful, but has many petals, and the task seems simply overwhelming.

In this lesson we will tell you how easy it is to draw a rose. Let's try to lay out each petal on paper step by step, and if you cope with this task, any other flower will no longer be a problem for you.

Immediately I want to stipulate what the colored lines on the diagrams mean. Red, blue and grey colour- these are contours to facilitate the perception of steps. The blue color will indicate the outline that has already been drawn, and the red color will indicate your next step that you will need to take. And gray, already the color of your creativity, with a simple pencil you will model the petals with the help of light and shadow.

Let's figure out how to draw roses correctly and what we need for this.

  1. Paper - the thicker the better.
  2. Simple pencils of different hardness.
  3. Eraser.
  4. Knife or sharpener for sharpening pencils. In the process, you will need a pencil with a sharp thin lead.
  5. Living nature is a rose. This is for those who like to overcome difficulties.

Rose, before your eyes.

Step 1

Start your drawing with a sketch of a bud, it should resemble a cocoon. Each next step will be adding petals. You must "dress" this bud in petals.

Step 2

Now draw the middle of the flower and start drawing the next petals. Of course, you can simply copy the drawing, or you can use your imagination, make the petals larger or smaller.

Step 3

When you finish drawing go to the leaves under it. The leaves should be characteristic of roses, sharp and slightly prickly at the tips.

Step 4

And now it's time for sharp and soft pencil. With light movements, begin to model the petals and leaves, applying a shadow. You need to do this starting from the middle, and gradually move from leaf to leaf. You need to draw everything very carefully and slowly.

How to draw roses correctly? This question is very creative, everyone draws as he sees and understands. And if you take it seriously, and you plan to do this, then you will need to study the basics of drawing, human anatomy, or at least leaf through biology textbooks and encyclopedias more than once. Only then will your drawing become conscious. And on entry level you are doing your happy copying. Do not be afraid to make a mistake and do something wrong, you have an eraser with which you can fix everything. Every great artist I started by copying paintings and from the most elementary basics.

I have prepared for you interesting master classes drawing roses in pencil and watercolor: from simple to the most complex. Therefore, rather arm yourself with colored pencils and a brush - let's start!

Our masterpiece is ready to try on and decorate one of the walls of your room.

Interesting! Persia (Iran) is considered the birthplace of the rose. In the Persian language, the name of the flower sounds "gul", and the country itself has long had a second name - Gulistan.

The interest of the Persians in growing roses was picked up by the Greeks. One of Greek myths says: “When the goddess of beauty and love Aphrodite learned about the death of her beloved Adonis on a hunt, she went to the mountains of Cyprus to look for the body of a handsome man. Thorns of thorns and sharp stones wounded her fragile legs, and drops of blood falling to the ground turned into red roses.

How to draw a rose step by step

If you are not a beginner in drawing, but paper and pencil are your best friends, I offer a difficult version of drawing a rose with a pencil. Let's take the following image as an example:

1. Draw a long arc - the stem. Mark the upper and lower borders of the bud, as well as its center.

2. Now draw the middle of the bud. It consists of many twisted leaves.

Gradually add other petals to the rose. Pay attention to the severity and geometric shapes.

You will get such a rose:

3. Draw the stem and leaves for the rose.

4. It's time to add shadows and make our flower voluminous. Take a close look at the photo of the rose and start shading the dark areas of the image. A soft pencil is ideal for hatching.

5. Now, with light pencil movements, add penumbra. Note: petals that curl outward must have highlights and become darker towards the edges.

6. Detail the leaves and add shadows to them.

That's all! The flower queen is ready.

Interesting! IN Ancient Rome The white rose was considered a symbol of silence. If during a solemn meal in the hall over the guests flaunted White Rose, everyone understood: the conversation at the table was not subject to disclosure. So far preserved popular expression"Sub rosa dictum" ("I said under the rose"). This means that everything said is a big secret.

Roman soldiers wore wreaths of roses to get rid of the fear of battle. Rose wreaths in Rome were also awarded to prominent figures.

How to draw a rose with watercolors

Roses painted with watercolors look especially sophisticated and elegant. For creating next image the artist used professional paints. You can take the most common ones.

1. Choose an image of a rose and make a subtle sketch. If it is difficult to do it yourself, on a sunny day, attach the drawing to the window and transfer it to paper.

2. Apply the initial coat of paints. Color each petal separately. Before you paint the next petal, let the previous one dry well, otherwise the paint will flow.

To mix colors harmoniously:

  • wet the petal with water, and then apply the paint,
  • apply one color, then add another.

3. In addition to pink and orange shades, add purple, blue and cherry. So you will be able to make the drawing saturated.

4. When the roses are completely dry, move on to the background. The role of the background will be played by colored spots. Paint must be applied to wet paper.

5. When the first coat of paint is completely dry, start working on the shadows of the flowers. Along with coral, pink and red colors, add yellow, purple, blue hues. The flower will become beautiful and expressive.

6. Make the background deeper by applying another layer of paint to the previous one. But make sure that the background does not stain the flowers and does not overshadow them. It is not very good if the environment is brighter than the subject being depicted.

7. Detail the image by adding veins and shadows to some of the petals.

Congratulations! The picture is ready.

Interesting! Today, 6,000 types of roses are known, bred by man. But it was the Japanese who surprised me the most. They managed to grow a chameleon rose. This amazing flower changes color depending on the light. During the day the rose is scarlet, in the evening it is white.

What else do you need to know before moving on to step by step instructions? It turns out that there are varieties that are painted in 2, 3 or more colors.

simple flower image technique

How to draw a rose step by step Let's first try to draw roses with a pencil. At the same time, let's see how this can be done correctly and easily even for beginners, even for kids who are 5 years old. And then we'll try to decorate the pictures.

In order to understand how to draw a rose with a pencil in stages, we will divide the work into small steps. So we will easily and without problems overcome the path of mastering this technique.

Step 1. Preparation

Let's prepare everything that will help us draw and color a rose: paper, pencils, an eraser. What else may be needed to execute the image with a pencil? Photo. It is worth choosing suitable clear photographs, but you can also take painted works on our website (see below).

Step 2. Blooming spherical climbing rose

Learning to draw a rose that is fully opened and has a round, small bud shape. To do this, draw a circle.

In the workpiece, we make a few more circles of a smaller size. We quickly make them, it does not matter if they come out uneven.

The smallest circle is the inner petals of the flower. There are usually no more than 5 of them. They are folded and look like a small glass.

The rose blank, made with a simple pencil, is already beginning to resemble our final goal. Therefore, we continue to do the rest of the circles in the same style. Each petal is beautifully drawn. And we get a blank very similar to our plant.

Step.3. goblet bud

How to draw a rose with a pencil that has a goblet bud? We present the shape of the glass and transfer it to paper.

Inside it we make another "glass". These are the inner petals of the rose that are gathered together. And there are no more than 5 of them.

We make out the extreme petals. How can you draw them? Like those that slightly on the sides hide the glass in their folds, like Cinderella's dress, which she wore to her ball. A goblet-shaped rose made with a pencil in stages, in just 3 steps, looks very believable.

Step 4. Cup-shaped large-flowered bud

Learn how to draw a cupped rosebud. To do this, we make an incomplete circle, where one side is a straight line.

How to draw a rose next? It is best to start with the bottom petals. They are located just in a straight line. We can see only 5 of them: three of them are at the very bottom, the rest are on the sides.

We rise above and draw the next "floor".

This flower is a little "tousled", and its inner petals bear little resemblance to those that are arranged in a certain order. And yet, he is. How to learn to draw them? So, as if they wrap the core.

Step. 5. Coloring

First, we erase all auxiliary lines. Let's see what we got:

And this is what the picture looks like without fragments:

We represent the stems and leaves. "Lower" roses in a vase. It turned out to be a nice bouquet.

We start coloring. We direct each detail with our own color.

When we are 5 years old, it is enough just to fill white space the intended color.

But this is not enough if we are much older. We are able to make a slight shadow on the petals.

Or, remember that the edging can be a different color.

That's it, the picture is ready. In less than a year of training, we will be able to boast of our skills, which will not be inferior even to Jan Brueghel himself.

And below are a few more options for drawing a rose:
