Anni-Frid was born in the Norwegian commune of Ballangen in 1945, on November 15th. Her mother was Sunni Lingstad, her father was Alfred Haase, a soldier of the German occupation forces. Musical career
Lingstad first performed at the age of 11 at a Red Cross charity event. Initially, she sang songs in the dance band style. Then Anni-Frid joined the band playing jazz.
