New Year holidays in Russia cannot do without Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, who have long become their real symbols and are popularly associated with winter, snow, joy, Christmas tree, gifts, tangerines and Russian salad.

Good Grandfather Frost has a thick gray beard, because he is old. He wears a hat, a toe-length fur coat and fur mittens, because although he is Frost, he does not want to freeze, getting stuck on the road in a night blizzard. Behind him is always a huge bag with gifts, from which grandfather tirelessly takes out toys and sweets, giving them to children. And in his hand is a staff of extraordinary beauty. And few people think why Santa Claus needs a staff? Why does he carry it with him?

Unlike his Western counterparts, dissecting on a sleigh pulled by deer, the Russian grandfather is a hard worker. He wanders through forests and fields, making his way through the huge snowdrifts that cover almost the entire vast territory of Russia in winter. And in this wandering, the staff is an indispensable assistant to Santa Claus. First of all, he helps to walk, because grandfather is already very ancient.

According to existing legends, its age varies within two thousand years. At the same time, the staff of Santa Claus undoubtedly has magic power. With its help, the indefatigable old man freezes rivers and lakes, causes storms and snowstorms, decorates glass with unique patterns. In addition, having become angry, grandfather can send a fierce cold to people and animals with this staff, and sometimes simply freeze someone. After all, Santa Claus was not always a kind bearded man with a red nose.

During his youth, he was distinguished by a rather severe disposition and could even beat naughty children with his staff. True, then the staff was just a gnarled stick. Only in the Middle Ages did the stick turn into a crystal staff of extraordinary beauty. Collectors of folklore claim that it was made of crystal and silver, had a twisted handle, and the top of the staff was crowned with either a crescent moon, as a symbol of fertility, or a bull's head, meaning wisdom and power.

The staff has now acquired modern look. Most often it is decorated with a star. And not so long ago, the staff of Santa Claus was crowned with the latest navigator. Apparently, over time, the staff still lost part of its magic power if the grandfather is forced to resort to high technology. But for children, all this is not important, because the staff retained its most important power. It is worth Santa Claus to hit them three times on the floor and multi-colored New Year's lights are lit on the Christmas tree.

How to make a staff for Santa Claus!!!

It all started with the fact that Santa Claus exists, but there is no magic staff! the day before celebratory event came great idea

It took:

So, we take three tubes and make a "snowflake".

We substitute another tube and begin to bend the racks in a circle.

Spiral weaving was not difficult at all. 1.5 meters, along the length of the mop, intertwined in one breath. I inserted a mop inside and walled it up. Here's the magic: the mop is now a staff! It took me a long time to figure out how to decorate. Maybe it was necessary to weave a star?

But I decided to make the tip in the shape of an icicle. I inserted a copper wire into the tubes, which I took out of the cable. And twirled something that looked like an icicle. The staff was covered with acrylic varnish.

True, it turned out like a flagpole, but when it was decorated with tinsel, doubts dissipated! Santa Claus was happy!

I really liked this pattern. I would like to create at home festive mood. In one evening, a New Year's wreath of newspaper tubes appeared.

I painted it with a primer with the addition of blue color and a spoonful of acrylic varnish. When the paint was dry, she varnished the wreath.

Have a wonderful New Year everyone!

New Year's holidays are always fun and a period of children's carnivals and matinees, where you can do without Baba Yaga, Koshchei and others, but it's impossible to have real fun without an elegant Christmas tree and everyone's favorite Santa Claus. After all, it is to him that children with such enthusiasm write letters with requests to fulfill the most cherished dreams and give such coveted toys. And of course, such a long-awaited and welcome guest must have an appropriate outfit. So, in this article we will talk about how to make one of the most important accessories for this character, namely the real staff of Santa Claus.

Image in detail

Well, what else makes this magical wish-fulfilling, so fabulous and unrealistically bewitching? Probably everyone will agree that Santa Claus is a character with a thick white beard, in a chic velvet coat with white fur inserts and, of course, with this mysterious staff, which, as you know, can freeze anyone.

How to make a staff of Santa Claus?

This accessory can be created with your own hands, and for this you absolutely do not need any expensive materials. First of all, you should choose a suitable frame, for example, a piece of plastic pipe or a handle-holder for. In extreme cases, Santa Claus's staff can be built from half-liter plastic bottles of mineral water tightly glued with adhesive tape. You will also need decorative items.

Plastic bottles are a great frame

How to make a staff of Santa Claus from plastic bottles? Such an accessory is good because it is very light, which is quite important, because you will have to not only carry it with you, but also dance with it, and even lift it over your head during competitions.

So, based on the age of the actor who will have to perform such important role, stick together a certain amount of bottles, after cutting off the neck from each of them. Approximately they will need about 15-18 pieces, and you also need a large skein of wide adhesive tape. The result should be a long plastic stick that will need to be decorated.

The shovel handle as the basis for the staff

How to make a staff of Santa Claus from a handle from an old shovel or mop handle? To slightly increase the product in diameter, its base can be wrapped with padding polyester or pasted over with foam rubber. After all the manipulations, it will be possible to proceed to the decorative design.

How to make a staff?

Even a child knows what color the staff of Santa Claus should be (it will be made with his own hands or not - it doesn’t matter). Naturally silver! And to give it such a specific icy look, the frame can be wrapped with ordinary baking foil or coated with spray paint.

The staff of Santa Claus (whose photo can be seen in this article) will not be real if it is not covered with snow. For this purpose, small foam balls or beads are ideal, which should be glued with a hot glue gun. Snow dusting can also be done like this: in several places, smear the staff with PVA glue and cover it with foam chips. Using this method, it is very important to keep the product for some time in order to allow the composition to dry well.

Ice cubes from plastic bottles

The original tip for the staff can be made from ordinary plastic bottle. A slightly bluish plastic is just perfect for this purpose. In order to create an ice composition, a figure in the form of a snowflake with a long stem is cut out of one bottle, and the other is cut so that a single neck remains, from which several strips of plastic hang along the edges. Both blanks are connected with glue. Next, you have to work a little with fire and melt the edges of the entire structure. The edges of the parts must be melted so that they do not change color, but are somewhat warped from exposure to heat. Such a composition will look original on the top of the staff, creating the illusion of icing.

New Year's rain as the main decoration of the staff

How to make a staff of Santa Claus with your own hands using New Year's tinsel? Yes, very easy! It is worth noting that for this purpose it is better to choose a rain with a wire base so that it can be easily fixed on the frame of the staff. The tinsel is fixed at the very bottom, tied in a loop, and the staff is wrapped in a spiral to the very top. Moreover, the rain for such decoration can be taken in absolutely any color, but, of course, you need to take into account the color of Santa Claus's fur coat.

How to make a tip for a staff?

In order for the staff to come out complete, a tip must be attached to its top. It can be a huge sparkling snowflake, an icicle or a huge shiny star. This element is easy to make on your own, or you can simply pick up a suitable Christmas tree toy and attach it to the top of the staff. But you can make a little effort and build an original backlit tip.

How to make backlight?

Glowing staff - very original idea, which will give the image a special magic. This detail will definitely not go unnoticed. So, to make a highlight, you need to choose the right tip for the staff. The so-called snow globe will look very unusual at the end of the staff, into which light bulbs are already built-in, powered by the simplest batteries and turned on by lightly pressing a button located somewhere on the side of the base.

Another option is a large transparent Christmas tree ball, in which it is easy to place LED light bulbs from an ordinary children's toy. In the place where such a tip is attached, it is quite easy to hide a box with batteries and contacts in tinsel, but it is advisable to lower the switch to the level of the hand so that Santa Claus can turn the backlight on and off at the request of the children. Using this idea, the program can be supplemented magic contests from the main character at the matinee. Children will definitely like this part of the program, just like the well-known chant “One, two, three, Christmas tree - burn!”.

Fantasy is a great idea generator

It just so happened that the staff must be wrapped in a spiral. It doesn't matter what - with a ribbon, rain or small white snowflakes glued closely to each other. But it is this pattern that is associated not only with this bewitching wand, but also with the garlands hung on the Christmas tree. How to make a staff original? It’s just that unusual elements should be used in its decoration. Kids are sure to love the idea of a glowing or tinkling staff. Bells tied to the edges of the ribbons and attached to the base at the point where the tip is attached are just a great option. And how to make a staff of Santa Claus with illumination has already been described above.

What about a folding staff?

Quite often, actors earn extra money by visiting children at home, and rushing around the city with a long stick in hand is not very convenient, especially if you have to travel by taxi. This problem can be solved, because you can make the staff of Santa Claus of a collapsible design. Such an accessory is easy to store right with a fur coat, hat and bag, because, unlike a solid stick, this option does not take up much space. How to make the staff of Santa Claus collapsible?

To create such an accessory, you will need to connect all your imagination. To make a frame, you will need plastic pipes, threaded and, of course, a soldering iron to assemble all the parts together. This is the most easy way which can only be imagined. The staff can be divided into three or four parts, depending on how tall it is. So, the pipe is cut or trimmed of the required size is selected and elements are soldered to them, allowing them to be twisted into one another. This is done with all the elements of the staff that will need to be connected to each other.

How to decorate a folding staff?

When decorating such a staff, it is better not to use a spiral pattern, because if the strip of ribbon or tinsel of a contrasting color wrapped around it does not match the junction, then it will not look quite harmonious. Great option decorations for such a staff are snowflakes glued to the base in chaotic order, but the top can be decorated as you like. The details of such a staff can be wrapped with synthetic winterizer or foam rubber, or you can leave everything as it is, just painting the frame with spray paint. The joints of all elements can be masked with New Year's tinsel.

Staff of Santa Claus from improvised materials at home.

The holiday is coming New Year, which is inconceivable without the main winter wizard- Santa Claus. Suppose you sewed or bought a Santa Claus costume, found a beard, mittens and a bag. Something is missing? Of course, a staff, a real one, with which you can light a Christmas tree and fight off hooligans in the stairwell).

Many Santa Clauses, Snow Maidens and parents preparing a Christmas tree in kindergarten, they type in Yandex "buy a staff of Santa Claus with illumination", but it is expensive (from 4900 rubles), and the offers are very limited. Meanwhile, a high-quality and beautiful illuminated staff is easy to do with your own hands.

The image of Santa Claus has been collected for centuries and the slightest oversight and incompleteness of the image will lead to the fact that the child will doubt whether the real Santa Claus is in front of him?

Soviet parents sincerely believed that the staff was a stick wrapped in tinsel. But today's children are not so easy to fool. Therefore, we will make a staff with spectacular lighting, with which you can "light" the lights on the Christmas tree and effectively "conjure".

When we made a Santa Claus costume with our own hands, the fact of the inevitable manufacture of a staff horrified us. We absolutely did not want to saw, plan, putty and paint, but we really wanted a spectacular staff, and preferably not simple, but exclusive and magical.

The purchased staff of Santa Claus did not suit us - it did not fit the size of the car, the generously sprinkled glitter constantly remained where it was unnecessary and climbed into the eyes, and the textured plaster crumbled after a week, revealing ugly green plastic and pretty ragged silk mittens of Santa Claus with burrs

After a little thought, we decided to make a staff from improvised materials, and we really liked the result, and we also tried it directly in working with children.

To make the staff of Santa Claus with our own hands, we needed:

1. Thin long stick (we took an unnecessary stick from a broken office mop). If you are a Santa Claus car enthusiast, then correlate what you want with what is possible) The staff may not fit into the car.

2. Children's toy with lights on a stick (We "stole" a toy from our child, bought at the circus for the occasion..)

3. Window foam insulation, 1 cm in diameter

4. Metallized fabric tape (sold in sewing stores and wherever they sell satin ribbons)

5. Hot glue sticks + lighter - or glue gun

7. Rhinestones and other "jewels".

8. A downy cord, or a piece of fur, in extreme cases - tinsel.

1. We take a stick from a mop (we have a diameter of about 2 cm) and glue a luminous children's toy on a stick to it. We used tape and hot glue. We highly recommend using hot glue (transparent sticks for the glue gun) - it is odorless, colorless and quickly and efficiently glues textiles, cardboard and wood. If you don't have a glue gun, just heat the glue stick with a lighter until it melts. No need to heat the glue to charring)

2. We wrap the finished structure with insulation for windows, a diameter of about 1 cm, smoothing out irregularities and thickness transitions, in a spiral, periodically fixing it with hot glue.

3. Wraps the insulated staff with metallic tape in a spiral, stretching it and fixing it with hot glue, preventing sagging. The tape should go very tightly, "overlap"

4. We decorate the junction of the toy on a stick and the end of the staff with a downy cord. Do not forget to leave access to the on/off switch of the toy. We put "good" batteries in the toy so as not to change them during operation. We turn on the backlight from time to time at "magic moments". In our case, the convex button for "turning on the illumination of the staff" was perfectly palpable under a layer of tape, allowing you to discreetly turn the staff on and off.

5. We decorate the finished staff with "carved silver" - from silver braid and rhinestones. We close the ends of large rhinestones with a cord or decorate with beads. Should be considered color scheme costume of Santa Claus, so that in the future the staff will harmoniously combine with in a general way Santa Claus. If Santa Claus has satin mittens, you need to make the staff as smooth as possible to avoid sharp "hooks" that harm the satin - for example, do not use rhinestones in a metal mount. At the same time, the staff of Santa Claus should be rough so as not to slip out of satin mittens.

Metallized silver tape has just such a "good" texture. Do not use satin ribbons - they quickly lose appearance especially in winter weather conditions.

The time of work on the staff of Santa Claus is less than 2 hours. As a result, you will get a beautiful, practical accessory made by yourself. For comparison, the cost of the staff of Santa Claus (buy in Moscow) with illumination from 4900 rubles. Also, this staff is quite soft, year after year we notice that the staff, placed against the wall in front of the round dance, necessarily falls on the top of any curious or gaping child.

Our staff is ready! This staff of Santa Claus, made at home, faithfully served us the New Year season without any complaints. We will be happy to use it next year.

Well, as a small "niceness" the staff glows perfectly in the dark, changing colors from red to blue, white and green.

If for some reason you do not want to use the backlight, the top of the staff can be decorated christmas toy(for example, a snowflake or a star to decorate the top of the Christmas tree)

Good luck and remember that we do the magic ourselves.

Magic staff grandfather frost- this is an indispensable attribute of the image of one of the most beloved children's characters. In addition to the fact that the gray-haired old man, generous with gifts, leans on his long staff when walking, with the help of this unusual item, Santa Claus also performs amazing miracles, calls on his faithful helpers for help and lights up the New Year's beautiful Christmas tree with colorful twinkling lights. This wonderful staff looks in full accordance with its magical purpose and the owner who commands the winter element.

You will need

  • - a long thick stick;
  • - cotton wool, foam rubber;
  • - silver paint/foil;
  • - small foam chips;
  • - glue;
  • - double sided tape;
  • - Christmas tinsel / decorative ribbons / wrapping paper / rhinestones;
  • - a ready-made tip for the Christmas tree / cardboard or foam for the tip of the staff.

Instruction

  1. Choose the right base for Santa's staff. It can be a mop handle or a wooden handle from an old shovel. It is advisable to find a long straight stick with a sufficiently large diameter (about 4-5 cm), but if this is not found, then you can increase its volume by pasting it with a layer of cotton wool, unnecessary rags or foam rubber ribbons. The height of the staff can also be "increased" to the desired size with the top element.
  2. First you need to give the staff a frosty, “icy” look. To do this, paint it silver. spray paints. If you are using a stick with a smooth surface, cover it with silver foil. The foil can be pre-crumpled to make the texture more rough, crystalline.
  3. To give the effect of "powdering" with snow, sprinkle the staff with small foam balls. Using a brush, apply glue to the staff in some places in random order. Then pour the foam crumbs on the areas smeared with glue and let the glue dry.
  4. Decorate the staff with glittery Christmas tree tinsel or beautiful contrasting ribbons. Wrap the trim around the staff in a helical fashion and attach the ends of ribbons or tinsel double sided tape, and for better fixation, fasten the decoration in several places along the entire length of the staff.
  5. Now you need to make a beautiful tip of the staff. Its shape can be different: a star, a snowflake, a peak, an icicle, etc. You can use ready-made tree tops made from unbreakable materials, or you can cut the tip to your desired shape from cardboard or a piece of Styrofoam. Volumetric tips look beautiful and naturalistic.
  6. Give the surface of the cut tip "icing" and "snow" in the ways described in the previous paragraphs. Although, you can decorate it in a different way. For example, sprinkle it with completely white foam chips, make it silver or golden, paste it over with beautiful bright wrapping paper.
  7. Attach the tip to the staff with tape. Disguise the attachment point, for example, with a shaggy multi-layered fringe from a Christmas tree “rain” or wrap it with beautiful tinsel. You can tie a beautiful bow with long ends fluttering when the staff moves. There can be many such endings.
