"Dots"- Russian underground rap group from Moscow, which existed from 1998 to 2007. "Dots" is one of the most famous rap groups in Russia; fans and critics attributed this group to such genres as gangsta rap("hop-hip-hop") and political rap. The author of most of the texts and the unofficial leader of the group is Rustam Alyautdinov - "Rustaveli". The group released only three albums, as it was planned back in 1998. Three dots - three albums.

Shortly before the breakup of the group, the Dots Family creative rap association was formed, created by members of the Dots group. After the collapse of the latter, some of its members continued creative activity as part of "DotsFam", as well as in "DotsBand".

The group "Dots" took part in rap music 1999, but did not take a prize. Winner of the Grand Prix of the Micro 2000 festival, at the same festival MC L.E. won the freestyle competition. At the Adidas Streetball Challenge 2001, the group took third place.

All members of the group with higher education. In the past, they had experience of using drugs, but now they are against any drugs and for a healthy lifestyle.

Style

From the moment the collective was formed, its members decided to adhere to the strict rules of the chosen line of behavior in creativity and in its implementation. Any attempts to use the name of the team for dishonest earnings were denied. The organizers of the group's performances were obliged not to allow photo and video filming that was not approved by the group. In case of non-fulfillment of this condition, the concert was stopped, and the organizers were to blame for the disruption of the concert. However, over time, this faded into the background, since every second viewer had a phone with a photo and video camera. Also, for the entire period of creativity, the Dots group did not shoot a single video clip. Another of the main principles of the group was to write and read only about what they themselves experienced or saw.

Group "Dots" - Russian Music band, based on the basics of rap. The team performs in such genres as alternative rap, hip-hop and punk rap.

The members of the group call their image "Kuzminsky" in honor of the place where their story begins.

short biography

November 15, 1998 - the date of the creation of the group "Dots" in the original composition. It was at this time that the first song was recorded, laying a rather long beginning of musical activity.

The very name of the group is "speaking". In many compositions there is a certain feeling of reticence, as well as a constant search for new roads.

Since its inception, the group has adhered to a certain strict image: leather jackets, trousers and black shoes. There was a logical explanation for this - the participants wanted to focus entirely on the music and believed that the flamboyant style would distract from the main idea.

Beginning (1998 - 2002)

The band's debut took place at the festival "Rap music 99". Their first single in the concert arena was "It Happens in Life", which later became one of their popular hits.

In 2000, they won the Grand Prix at the Micro 2000 show.

In 2001, the debut album work "Life and Freedom" was released. The reaction of critics and listeners was higher than expected: the work was called one of the best in the history of Russian rap.

In 2002, the next in turn album "Atoms of Consciousness" was released. The famous composition "Noisy in the soul of melancholy" becomes one of the business cards commands.

At the same time, the members of the Dot group create their own label. From that moment on, all subsequent activities were stored on the created brand. In addition to personal compositions, the team also posted the works of others Russian rappers, not yet well known in wide circles.

Sequel (2003 - 2005)

In 2002, the members of the Dots group met with the rap group M.Squard - people from Mitino. The work involved constructing a joint project called "Third Way".

Interesting fact: in the composition "What is worth" by the "Dots" group, the girl sings a separate verse, which is remembered by many thanks to her tough, but sincere performance.

In 2003, an album with a previously invented name was released. Also in the same period, the third work "Non-nomernaya" was written. It was quite interesting for its content: 7 remixes of songs close to the liking of "Dots", and 6 new compositions. The title of the work, according to Rustam, speaks for itself: it does not need to be considered in a sequential list.

In 2004, the united team "The Third Way" sits down to write a second essay, but, unfortunately, by that time M.Squard is disintegrating, so only 2 people from the entire composition of the "Dot" group remain to take part in the collective activity. Then the third in a row, Lasha, joins the process. The result is the album "Burime 12". In the same year, Imnaishvili's disc "Despite everything" was released, written in English language.

2005 - creation studio album"Distances", performed by the team"Window". The project consisted of only two people: Andrey Tyrnov and female vocalist Farochka. The compositions sounded in the style of ethno-rock with some trip-hop elements. An interesting fact: the poems of Marina Tsvetaeva also found their application in this work.

Collapse (2006)

In December 2006, a decision was made to break up the composition of the Dot group. The reasons were not revealed, but judging by the activities of each member, the creative and general life priorities have been revised.

Imnaishvili creates own album, however, it takes part main member"Dots" - Rustam, and besides Lasha, Ilya Kuznetsov is working on the music. Due to the escalating conflicts between Russia and Georgia, MC L.E. (concert nickname Imnaishvili) was forced to stay in his homeland.

Gennady Gromov decides to completely go into jurisprudence, leaving the creative business.

Love (the only girl in the Dots group) is given to the family and gives birth to a son in 2010.

The fate of two more participants is tragic: Piskachev and Grechikhin die in 2006 due to drug use.

In 2007, the third album "Dots" was released, but only the name remains of the group, since, by and large, it was a solo work of one Rustam.

Members-Formerly Created Dots Family Records Closes Backstage With Departure CEO(represented by Gennady Gromov) and turns into an independent unregistered label for internal use.

rebirth

The "Dots" group rises from the depths already in the updated DotsFam project, which includes: Rustam, Mikhail Krasnoderevenshchik, Dmitry, Lasha, Andrey, as well as "Sanchez" and "Gnome".

With the help of "Dots" teams are created, such as "3 Exclamation Marks and "The Grimms Drank".

In 2007, the team starts working on the Zombusiness album, but the process is suspended due to Lasha's departure to his homeland and the inability to return due to the state conflict. But after 2 years, the team again takes up the unfinished business and already on September 15 brings it to the end.

The cabinet maker undertakes the construction of a new 31records studio, which will subsequently record the album "K.I.D.O.K."

In June 2011, the work "Mirrors" was released, containing Rustam's songs with the participation of the Gnome. The song "Cuckoo" was eventually able to enter the "film screenings. Rap tribute".

After showing the album, Korablin and Gnome finally leave the project and turn their attention to the already earlier famous group M.Squard.

"Dots Band": the composition of the group

The idea to create a live instrumental group "Ellipsis Bend" appeared after Sanchez introduced Rustam to his brother, multi-instrumentalist Victor.

In addition to them, Nikita Kosarev, the guitarist of Zheka and Rush, the drummer of the J.

In 2011, the group started recording their first album and at the same time released the track "Running from myself".

2012 - the single "Fly away you" is released.

March 8, 2013 - The Living Truth mini-album, in the creation of which Bjacha, an ex-member of Dots, contributed her voice.

In 2017, the group announces new job called "Requiem for Reality", and on March 29, 2018 its premiere is released.

"Dots", photos and names

The group underwent team changes, therefore the participants are divided into former and current ones.

Initially, the team consisted of 12 people, led by:

  • Rustam Alyautdinov (Rustaveli), who was responsible for writing texts and reading them, was also the organizer of many ideas and concepts;
  • Alexey Piskachev (King Kong) - rapper;
  • Ilya Kuznetsov (Kuzmitch) - arranger, rapper and author;
  • Andrey Tyrnov (Tyuha) - vocalist, rapper, guitarist, arranger, designer;
  • Nikita Kosarev - arranger who made remixes.

Subsequently, the group "Dots" also included:

  4. Whistle (Andrey Tyurin) - also died.
  5. TimBot (Timur Bityukov) - administrator, engaged in internal matters team.

A photo of the composition of the group "Dots" is presented below.

Outcome

The guys wrote and reproduced only what each of them experienced in reality or saw with his own eyes. The era of "Dots" undoubtedly left itself in memory as a group that spit on stereotypes and create their own rules.

The songs of the Dot group are that rare case in Russian-language rap when they organically combine deep meaning, sincere presentation and pleasant musical accompaniment, which deserves the title of arrangement, and not "backing track".

Compound

During the years of activity, the composition of the group consisted of a different number of musicians and performers. For example, on November 15, 1998 - it was then that the creative team"Dots" - the group consisted of 12 people, of which half really worked, while the rest were more "for weight".

Of course, the group had a certain core, which included Kuzmitch (Ilya Kuznetsov), Gena Grom, Tyukha (Andrey Tyrnov), Dimon (Dmitry Korablin), L.BeeAtch, Illegal (Lasha Imnaishvili) and, of course, Rustaveli (Rustam Alyautdinov ) is the developer of the concept of the group and the informal leader.

Significant contributions to the development of Dots were made by King Kong, Dj Hassan, White Hot Ice, Farochka, Mikhail Krasnoderevshchik and TimBot (the latter was more of an administrator than a musician).

The current line-up of the group, which now performs under the name Dots Band, includes Rustaveli, Grela, Viktor, DJ Hassan, Sanchez, Andrey, Zheka and J.

Music

From the very beginning, Rustam Alyautdinov had a strong vision of what the new rap group should be like. With my thoughts back then young musician shared with his comrades, who immediately picked up and developed the idea. This is how the Dots project appeared, which later became one of the most successful non-producer projects in Russian rap.

The first studio sessions date back to 1998, and a year later, Dots performed at the largest Russian genre festival Rap Music. Although they did not manage to win a prize, their song “It Happens in Life” became a popular hit - largely due to rotation on the radio.

In 2000, the musicians performed at the Micro 2000 festival. At the same time, the first major restructuring took place in Dots, during which many participants were eliminated due to uselessness. The same year, the release of the first version of "Something Different" dates back.

The group's debut album was released only in 2001 and was called Life and Freedom. The album consisted of 26 songs that the Dots rappers have been recording at Dots Family Records for the past three years. The hits of the first disc were “Tell me brother”, “Hunger of nuclear craters”, “White leaves”, “Dirty world” and, of course, “It happens in life”.

The song "Revelation", also included in the album, served as the soundtrack to the film "Dust" by Sergei Loban ("TV", "Top Show"), in which Alexey Podolsky and lit up.

"Life and Freedom" was released by the Quadro-Disk label. Due to the inattention of the band director during the signing of the distribution agreement, the musicians received absolutely no profit from the sales of the album.

Their next album "Dots" was released at the end of November 2002. The new disc also consisted of 26 tracks and was called "Atoms of Consciousness". The hits of "Atoms of Consciousness" were the compositions "It hurts in the soul of melancholy", "It's to blame for everything", " Last meeting” and, of course, “I indulge in serious ones.”

One of the songs of this album - "America" - was also used in the film, this time in the comedy "Hottabych" by Pyotr Tochilin ("Use before", "Hunting for werewolves"), in which the Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR starred (" dog's heart"," Grandmother of easy virtue").

In 2003, together with the M.Squad band, musicians from Dots began work on the Third Way project. Then it began new wave group restructuring. As a result, by the end of this year, “Dots” released the release “Non-numbered”, consisting of 13 tracks (7 of which are remixes of old songs), and jointly with M.Squad “The Third Way. Burime 12" was released in 2004.

The whole of 2005 was spent on tour for the band - no new releases were planned. A similar situation was the following year - with the only difference being that there were noticeably fewer performances. official reason there was a statement that the musicians began to devote more time to their personal lives, however, the appearance of individual participants in Dots in third-party projects indicated the opposite.

Officially, the group broke up in 2007 - the musicians themselves informed the fans about this, without specifying the reasons for this decision.

One way or another, but the backbone of the "Dots" headed by Rustaveli remained. It was decided to continue performing, but already as DotsFam (in honor of the recording studio, where many of the Dots members met each other). Under the new name, the musicians performed with separate compositions "Dots", and also recorded new material.

DotsFam released three albums in total: Fuckt #1 (2005), Zombusiness (2009) and Mirrors (2011). After that, it was decided to return to the previous name. Since 2011, the musicians have been performing as the Dots Band.

They call their current style art rap, but they are not very offended when they are referred to as alternative rap. Rappers do not use recorded arrangements, preferring to perform live. In 2013, the band released two records at once - The Living Truth and "Territory of Desires", and in 2014 only one - "Under the Asphalt Sky".

It is also worth mentioning that some songs are attributed to the group erroneously. This happened, for example, with “Dyshi”, which is actually called “Look at the Sky” and was written by the “Dyshi” group (and the guys from “Dots” just released it on an inter-authorial collection).

"Dots" now

In 2017, with the support of his bandmates, Rustaveli released the Mirror for a Hero album, during the presentation of which he casually mentioned that the guys from the Dots Band were working on new material. In addition, the musicians continue to actively perform with the old program - the next of these performances will take place in early February at the Glastonberry club in the capital.

Clips

The group did not have full-fledged clips, as this contradicted the concept and charter developed by Rustaveli. Therefore, all music video material is just shooting at concerts and rehearsal facilities.

However, there are two videos filmed during the period of performances under the auspices of DotsFam, which are a stretch to refer to the clips:

  • 2011 - "Autumn"
  • 2014 - Give Fire

The rigidly defended independent opinion, ideas and principles in creativity on the one hand, and the absolute unwillingness to "unwind", to become part of the "show business" system, on the other, should have created the prerequisites for a collapse in the development of the team. However, oddly enough, Dots became one of the few who managed to acquire the status of "cult" underground performers and at the same time spread the results of their work so extensively in Russia and the CIS that this very status began to be questioned by some people.

Well, really: how can an underground band that deliberately rejects all moves on its own promo, including taking photos and videos (even at concerts), firmly defending its views in creativity, achieve such success when their records are distributed through a distribution network with instant speed almost unlimited circulation (which not only rappers, but also some representatives of pop music will envy), when the very name of the band becomes a successful “brand”, providing almost one hundred percent sales?

As it turned out, maybe. And the main factor of such nonsense is "people's love". Yep, that one!

What happened: without any hit parades, flashing through the "box", awarding awards, and so on, only in 2006 did the Dot group give about 20-odd away concerts. And this is with one of the toughest riders among all the rap teams in Russia and with one of the highest fees for the performance along with Bad Balance and Kasta.

The most interesting thing is that the concerts were held mostly outside major cities, and in the deep province: from Surgut, Ivanovo and Beloretsk to Almetyevsk, Cherepovets and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This is one of the factors folk love” and recognition when the group is invited to perform thousands of miles from home.

This is all the more surprising if you know about the general "deplorable" state of Russian rap, and not only its "concert" sphere. In order to better understand how this could happen, we must go back to the historical beginning.

November 15, 1998 should be considered the date of formation of the team. Since then, the team has changed several times, but at the base were Rustaveli, King-Kong, Kuzmitch, Tyukha, MC L. E. and dj Hassan. Over time, the group also "recorded" L. BeeeATCH, Gena Groma a.k.a. Big and Dimona. It is difficult to find out the real names of all the characters, because they try to hide them carefully.

It was later that the participants of the Dots built their own policy of behavior and development of team creativity, and at the very beginning they were one of the "out". That is, one of the thousands of other rap groups and performers who tried to make themselves known.

One of such applications for victory was an invitation to participate in the program of the Rap-Music 99 festival. Again - it was then that they entered into a confrontation with Bad B. The Alliance and their representatives, and then they were 20 small years, and some were not even 20 yet, and the situation itself was not yet ripe for such a development of relations, so the group accepted this invitation.

They performed in competitive program at number 9 (that is, penultimate, before the Blange group) three of us: Rustaveli, Kuzmitch and King Kong. They began their performance with the rather provocative track “Boshki”, in which they already slightly “pricked” Legalize and Sheff "a. In general, they were the only ones among all the teams who decided on such an act, they already had their own view of many things , and it did not always coincide with the opinion of the majority.

Despite the fact that their repertoire already sounded the future hit “It Happens in Life”, they “flew”. No, they performed well, it was just after them that Blange performed and removed everyone. And since three teams from Moscow were represented at the fest (there was also the Ekipazh group), it was Blange and Casta who met in the super-final in the battle.

But already in the next 2000, at the alternative to Rap Music, the Micro 2000 festival, the Dot group takes the Grand Prix. For comparison: at the last festival the same prize was won by the group Yu.G.

In the same 2000, one of the group's first singles, "It Happens in Life," was released on the "Voice of the Streets 2" collection (published by "Hip-Hop Info" and the "Monolith" studio). And in the same year, the work of the team to record material for debut album. The disc itself was released in 2001 and was called "Life and Freedom".

It was already with the release of the debut disc that the Dots really appeared as a team with an established face and a special look at creativity. This feature was manifested in the fact that the members of the group seemed to “breathe poison” in response to all the negativity that surrounded them: this is a society decomposed by a consumption virus, these governments and authorities engaged in the substitution of concepts and “stupefying” the people, these corrupt media , ready to depict and spoil anything for a coin, these laws, frameworks and processes that allow all this to exist.

The texts were built and woven from such dictionary forms and phrases that most fully and vividly emphasized the clear position of the authors to the painful problems. At the same time, they were not devoid of poetic imagery and beauty of style, but the main thing: they had a certain zest that firmly entered the minds of most teenagers, like a knife through butter, subordinating them and tuning them to the ideas of the group. As it turned out later, these ideas were not alien to older and mature people.

Along with “social” themes, the album also contained lyrical notes, which was only beneficial, because you won’t be full for a long time with one “chernukha”. Musical part album "Life and Freedom" was a match for every theme and, in principle, quite in harmony with the text part. But then again - such “strings” were affected that allowed some tracks to become almost hits, such as, for example, “It Happens In Life”.

In 2002, Dots released his second album, Atoms of Consciousness. In it, they reinforce their signature style when the album contains the main track, and then the so-called "inter-theme" - and so on throughout the entire disc.

The album itself is simply amazing. The responses from the fans were in the most admiring tones. The musical component became more qualitative in sound, the album turned out to be more diverse, guitars appeared. The lyrics in some tracks have become even tougher and more penetrating than in the first album.

"Sick in the Soul Longing" instantly becomes a hit. And the song "Distance" is simply striking in its unusualness and deep penetration into consciousness. I also want to highlight the track "The Last Meeting".

In 2003, Dots released his third team album "Non-Number", demonstrating this enviable constancy in creativity and work, unlike most domestic rap artists.

Despite the fact that on this disc there were songs already heard on the second album, almost every track had its own unique face and color. The song "Winds" gave a slight touch of romanticism to the entire album. Along with the traditional social tracks, there was also the composition “EP-T”, which stood out from the rest in that the vast majority of the bands and performers who gathered around the Dot group took part in it.

The whole album turned out to be so diverse in terms of ideas, lyrics, music, performance, embodiment, as well as solid and competent.

It should be noted that starting from the second album, the group released their releases at the Monolith studio and total amount sales beat all the records of Russian rap, which opened up a “credit of trust” for the team from the studio management.

Partly due to this circumstance, as well as the fact that the band members thought not only about themselves, but also had a desire to help promising bands and performers close to them, they decided to create the Dots Family Records label with subsequent promotional activities.

The result of such activities was that in 2003, even before the release of "Unnumbered" D.F.R. released 4 collections of "Hip-Hop Quarter" (each issue included a kind of "report" for three months of the year). The collections included both bands and performers close to the Dots, as well as young, unknown and promising bands who sent their demo recordings by mail or gave them away during concerts.

In addition to these compilations, Dots Family Records in 2003 released: "A Piece of Life for Five Years Raven" from the formation of bands under the brand name Dots - the Third Way (there also included White Hot Ice, M. Squad and Les Misérables), the albums "Game-Bullshit" of the group M. Squad and the 13 Warriors of the Outcasts. This, along with his solo album in just one year. Not bad, right?

Later on D.F.R. the collections "Hip-Hop Quarter", "Dots Family Fuckt", "Rap Experiences", as well as the "Third Way" project continued to be released. In addition, albums have been released following groups and performers: Ezekiel 25:17, Jeep, Windows, Negative Influence, Change of Mind, Mahogany, MC L. E. All this along with an active concert activity and help in placing the material of little-known rappers.

It should also be noted such a fact as the relationship between the family of the Dot group and the rest of the domestic rap community, including artists. To put it mildly, the attitude was antagonistic. We will consider the reasons for this attitude of the Ellipsis group, but now we will try to understand why they were treated this way.

One of the main problems in domestic rap is belonging to a particular party. This is when performers unite into a kind of conglomerate under common idea or creative principles. AT recent times it was on this principle that our rap labels were formed. As a result, around creative associations Loyal fans are also gathering, who are waging an irreconcilable “war” against other similar associations, mainly on specialized Internet forums.

It is actually nonsense when representatives and bearers of the same culture "drive" each other instead of uniting and "moving" the culture together. And it so happened that the formation around the Dot group, due to their conceptual position both in life and in work, was under attack from almost all supporters of other rap parties and conglomerates.

Either it was ordinary envy, or other factors, but the main reasons and motives for such a dislike for the band and their work were accusations of allegedly “pop” sound, “primitive” performance, “tongue-tied” in the texts, “substitution of concepts” of the underground idea when everyone should be "down" and not stick out.

The same accusations were poured (and, by the way, continue to pour) from "wise men, connoisseurs and connoisseurs of real rap" to the fans of the group's work. As soon as someone announced that he was listening to the Dots, they immediately began to “press” the unfortunate person from all sides, accusing him of a “galim” taste and that he was not “fumbling”. And in general: "Ellipsis - it sucks for youngsters!".

To understand all this, you need to carefully study the conceptual component of the ideas and creativity of the Dots group. Based on the few interviews and the minimum information that can be found about them (read below about the reasons for the lack of extensive information and such "asceticism" and "reclusion" in general), it turns out to summarize the information and draw the following conclusions.

The very name of the collective Dots means control of the power of thought. The designation of some understatement and ambiguity, which leads to the search for an answer to questions by the listener himself. The second meaning is the search for an answer to what remains after death, what is hidden behind the depths of consciousness, behind the heaviness of understanding, behind the lies and the system of the world in which we live ... Already in the very name of the collective, thoughtful fundamental principles and foundations of future creativity were laid. But any creativity is impossible without ideas and people who form and implement these ideas.

If we consider the ideological position of Rustaveli, the informal leader of the Ellipsis association, we get the following picture. Rustavelli himself and the rest of the group have higher education. The commonality of views and ideas is formed from the work of Jim Morrison and the Doors group, Pyotr Mamonov, Vladimir Vysotsky, the Kino group, the Korol and the Jester group, Anatoly Krupnov, and others. In addition, the works of the following writers also had a significant impact: John Coleman, Ken Kesey, Anthony Burgess, the Strugatsky brothers, Sergei Dovlatov, as well as Klimov and Pelevin. I don’t know about you, but I think such a “set” is quite solid for the formation of a holistic personality.

How could such a person (Rustavelli) be under the influence of hard drugs? The answer to this question is unknown. But there is an answer to another question: how did you manage to overcome a terrible addiction? And it was possible precisely due to the fact that spiritually the person was reborn, went through the “hell” of consciousness filtration and, as a result, gained willpower and spiritual independence.

In his last interview Rustavelli recognizes the fact that there are no former drug addicts, and offers his own way to get away from life and moral problems through sports. It is the lack of propaganda healthy lifestyle life, he calls the strategic omission of the state and society and warns the younger generation against making mistakes on own example: Better never start!

This position deserves deep respect. Not everyone is ready to admit their own mistakes, start correcting themselves, achieve results and campaign for it.

Returning to the analysis of the conceptual component of the work of the group Dots, I would like to quote an excerpt from an interview that appeared shortly after the release of the album "Atoms of Consciousness". The question concerned just the creativity of the group.

“We write our songs primarily for ourselves ... Well, for people close to us. This is self-expression and subsequently self-knowledge ... We concentrate our thoughts about the world around us, give it all a verbal form, write music with the right mood to the words and hang on to the ongoing moment of creation ... We believe that real poetry of the 21st century should be tough (according to time) and as truthful as possible... Everyone who heard us finds something of their own in our topics, and we are quite satisfied with this!

Now it becomes clear why in the process creative development The members of the group determined precisely this direction of their efforts. Creativity as a form of protest against the established norms and morals of society finds a deep response in the hearts of fans of the band's talent.

One of the fundamental factors of the negative attitude on the part of some rap artists towards the Dot group were statements that the group did not at all strive to conquer show business. The band members deliberately ignored all PR campaigns. Promotional work was not carried out at all: photo shoots, video shooting and their further placement. In general, the ellipsis fundamentally did not recognize any other ways to popularize the team, except through creativity, which was created primarily for self-expression.

It is obvious that such a principled position was caused, most likely, by the fact that the members of the team unequivocally decided both in creativity and in the way of its implementation to adhere to the strict rules of the chosen line of behavior.

Any attempts to "make money from the left" on the name of the team were also denied.

A non-negotiable clause was written in the rider of the team, in which the organizers of the group's performance undertook not to allow photo and video filming not authorized by the team. Otherwise, the concert was stopped, and the fault for the disruption fell on the organizers of the tour. How this point could be observed when every second phone of the audience has a built-in video camera remains a mystery.

In general, many were annoyed by such adherence to principles of the team members. Well, how about it: “We are tearing our own ass here, we spare no effort, but they don’t do a damn thing and sell albums more than anyone else, tours are unmeasured, and people know and love them!”.

As a result of this principled position the Dot group did not have extensive and close contacts with representatives of other rap labels in Russia, and they themselves did not strive for this - there was enough other work. Whom they creatively intersected with is White Hot Ice (their longtime idol) and D.O.B. represented by Sir J and Jeep.

That's about in such a situation, the Dots group and their label Dots Family Records fruitfully existed until almost 2007. If we trace the dynamics of the team's work on their releases, we will see that starting from 2005, imperceptibly at first, and by 2006, the team begins to slow down more and more noticeably. Fewer compilations are released, fewer full-fledged albums appear from satellite teams working under the wing of the Dot. Perhaps this was partly due to the active touring activities of the band ...

Be that as it may, in mid-December 2006, information spread that the Dots as a team ceased to exist. Soon, an extensive interview with Rustavelli appeared on the official website of Dots Family Records, confirming the breakup of the band.

Detailed answers about the reasons that led to the collapse were not received. It was only stated at length that Kuzmitch was tired of being Kuzmitch (what exactly this means is unknown), and Gena Grom decided to go into law and stop his creative activity. MC L.E. due to recent changes in relations between Russia and Georgia was forced to leave Moscow and return to his homeland, becoming a hostage to the next political alignment. L. BeeeATCH hasn’t been in touch at all for two years and doesn’t participate in the affairs of the team…

In addition, in 2006, the most close friend and colleague Rustavelli, who stood at the origins of the creation of the team - King Kong. Naturally, this also affected the decision to close the ellipsis group.

At the same time, Rustavelli announced that at the end of February 2007 the last fourth album (as yet untitled) should be released, which, in fact, is more of a solo work by Rustavelli than a team one. Dots as a group will complete their creative path with the release of this album.

Dots Family Records turns into an independent, only for internal projects label Most likely, this means curtailing an extensive front of work.

In general, from Rustavelli's interview it is clear that the person is morally tired and last year was stressful and difficult for him. He does not exclude the possibility of creative self-realization in the future, but there are no clear answers, and when they will be is unknown.

Hopefully, this waiting period will not drag on. In any case, the numerous admirers of the Dots were somehow "orphaned" in an instant, and for them it was a big blow. Of course, the fourth album with its “swan song” will calm their “appetites” to some extent, and then what?

Yes, there are groups and artists that were part of the Dot family, such as MC L. E., Mahogany, Fat Complex, Okna, Pili Grimy. But will they be able to "pick up the banner"? Who will replace the Dots and will they come at all? In this place, you need to put ellipsis, forgive the pun, but somehow you don’t want to.

In conclusion, I can say that the ellipsis group, even at the end of its creative way in spite of all the slanderers (again, pun!) remained true to its principles and traditions. Others might use suitable occasion: to “cut down” more dough on a promoted brand. Stamp heaps of "latest" albums and obscure collections, or not kill the goose that lays golden eggs at all, and "crush" the name to the maximum.

But the guys actually confirmed their life principles and foundations. For which they have special respect! Otherwise, they would not have been able to. Yes, in a different way "It would be stupid"!

P.S. We all have yet to understand and understand the legacy they left us. As if preparing and anticipating their speedy departure, they managed to prepare and release two complete editions"All Albums" (and in total during their career they have prepared and released about 30 album releases) - for all connoisseurs, fans and those who will get to know them for the first time.

Already now one feels a slight sadness and nostalgia for the fact that a whole layer of culture is leaving, whole era… The participants of the Dots were and remain a model of independence from various stereotypes. Moreover, they managed to "infect" many by their own example - and this is worth a lot, this is not forgotten and worthy of respect!
