Hrithik Nagrath Roshan, whose name means "saint", also has two nicknames: Duggu and Bolunath. He was born in Mumbai on January 10, 1974. His parents, Pinky and Rakesh, are actors. The father is also known as a Bollywood director and producer. The star has a sister, Sunaina, and Roshan Jr.'s grandfather is producer J. Om Prakash.

Little Hrithik felt rejected due to a small physical defect: he has two thumbs on his right hand. Over time, the Indian came to terms with this shortcoming and even stopped hiding it.

Hrithik Roshan, whose biography did not start well, went to the Bombay Scottish School. From there, he often ran away, because in addition to the sixth finger, he also stuttered. A speech pathologist helped to cope with this problem. Later, at the insistence of his father, the young man studied at the Sydnhem College of Economics in Mumbai and took part in dance and music festivals.

Professional achievements

For the first time, viewers saw the future celebrity on the screen in 1980 in the role dancing boy(film “Singer Aasha”). Then he helped his father as an assistant director, studied acting and fought for recognition in the film world.

What's special about Hrithik's career is that he became a star overnight, starring in the 2000 drama Say You Love! directed by Rakesh Roshan. He played a superhero with whom the heroine was in love. The attractive actor was literally showered with offers from famous filmmakers.

The filmography of the actor, who by 2017 included 28 films, was even considered a successor .. True, some of his films were not very successful. The most popular, in addition to the debut, include “Both in sorrow and in joy”, “You are not alone”, “Krrish”, “Jodha and Akbar”, “Fiery path”, “Bang-bang”. In 2017, the romantic melodrama Capable was released, where she and actress Sanim Guatam play lovers.

On December 20, 2000 they got married.

Since Suzanne and Hrithik were from different religions (Islam and Hinduism), they decided to abandon the religious wedding ceremony in favor of a civil marriage. Since Amitabh Bachchan, no actor has caused the mass hysteria that Hrithik Roshan does. Hrithik Roshan-Duggu was born on January 10, 1974 to Rakesh and Pinky Roshan. His father Rakesh Roshan is an actor in the past (he has acted in almost 70 films), and the biggest filmmaker and director today. We had at the box office two of his films "Thirst for revenge" (1988) and "Kishan and Kanhaiya" (1990). Both of Hrithik's grandfathers worked in the same industry, his uncle Rajesh Roshan is a music composer. Hrithik's sister Sunaina tries herself as a film producer. This is a real "filmi family"
Remembering your school days Hrithik says he got away with a lot of trouble because he was cute. "I was always the favorite of my teachers at school, because I suppose I was very likeable." “Because of my innocent looks, I usually stayed out of trouble. "I was spoiled and spoiled by everyone. All I had to do was look with the eyes of an innocent boy, and immediately get what I wanted. At home too ... if I did not get what I wanted, I just sat with a long face until got what he wanted.” Hrithik's "cuteness" led him to star in his grandfather Om Prakash's film Aasha at the age of 6. He also had child roles in Aap Ke Deewane and Bhagwan Dada. "I got a salary of three hundred rupees and bought balloons! As a child, I loved balloons!" Hrithik is pursuing a BA in Business Communication from Sydneham College while also working as his father's assistant on set. He worked as the third assistant to his father, the director, on the film crew, where he had no indulgences. Hrithik ate, slept and led a grueling lifestyle like any junior on location. He traveled in second class, slept in cheap hotels, ate the same as the other members of the group, tried to always do his job well. But inwardly, he hoped, he admits, that all this experience would help him become stronger and more resilient to the harsh reality of the world of the film industry. Rakesh Roshan has been working on a new project and was planning to cast Salman Khan in his new film. However, according to Hrithik, the role would be more suitable for a newcomer, which he spoke about at a meeting to discuss this project. Even though Rakesh didn't say anything in response either before or after this meeting, a few days later he called Hrithik to his room and told him to get Hrithik ready to start starring in his new film. Hrithik was too stunned to react to this. However, somehow, he managed to gather his strength and answer "Yes!". The next step was the process of preparing to face the future. Hrithik took classes in acting, voice acting, an Urdu teacher came to his house for classes... In addition, he helped Salman Khan in bodybuilding classes. This was followed by a strict nutritional regimen designed to bring his body into excellent physical condition. Four months later, Hrithik started filming. In 1999, Hrithik began acting in his first film "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai" - "Say that you love", which came out in January 2000 as scheduled. The film was a very big success and broke all box office records. With his excellent performance in his first film, Hrithik won the most big hearts industry. Hrithik turned into a superstar overnight. Instantaneous Hritikomania swept the entire nation from nine years old to ninety. From the press review: "I have to say, Rakesh Roshan knew what he was doing! The boy is good! The ease and style in which he dances, the emotions in the game, make you forget that this is his debut. His characters have two different nature and he excelled in both roles." His adult debut took the Indian box office by storm and entered the Leams Book of Records as the first Hindi film to win 102 awards. In this film, Hrithik not only showed acting skills but also proved to be an excellent dancer. Until now, he is considered the best dancer in Bollywood. After a brilliant debut, Hrithik began a black streak. He survives an assassination attempt on his father Rakesh Roshan, the Nepalese problem, and a string of setbacks. When the stunning success of KNPH attracted the attention of the mafia, who want to get their hands on it, the Roshans' refusal to pay them provoked an assassination attempt on Rakesh Roshan. Rahkesh barely survived after being shot at. " I was just in shock when this episode with the shooting of my dad happened. For a while I couldn't believe it. It was so surreal that I didn't think it was happening to me." - says Hrithik Soon after, Hrithik announced that he would not be filming again. Only the huge support from the film community and the whole country made him cancel this decision. But he immediately finds himself in another unpleasant story - this time on an international scale. In late December 2000, a group of Nepalese students took to the streets of Kathmandu to protest that Hrithik had humiliated Nepal and its people. The conflict grew, resulting in four dead and 180 wounded. Here is what Hrithik had to say in his interview with G Magazine: "The whole Nepalese episode still lives in me. Perhaps someone paid the press to sow a conflict between India and Nepal. And this was one of the moves. How else can I explain this absurdity? I mean, why on earth do some people shoot at others? turns out it's because Hrithik Roshan said he doesn't like Nepalis. The best thing about it all was that I had only given two interviews before, one on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal ("Date with Simi Garewal”), which had nothing to do with Nepal. The other is Face to Face with the BBC, which didn't even air. Actually, it aired in January. So don't even ask me, I don't know where it came from. I don't know myself." Hrithik's next work "Fiza" - "Looking for a brother" (2000)
there he has a completely different role than Rohit or Raj in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. "Hrithik understood all the subtle nuances of the role and added a lot of his nuances and improvisations. He is one of the best among the current generation of actors." the director of the film says. The film was a success, although it did not become a box office blockbuster. Taran Adarsh praises Hrithik in his review: "The film is undoubtedly based on Hrithik Roshan. His delivery of the role, his expression of emotion, deserve a lot of praise. With this film, Hrithik proved that he can play not only boy lovers and sex symbols. His talent goes to forefront in several scenes, especially with Karisma.Brilliant performance, no doubt!" For his role as Amaan, Hrithik was nominated as the best actor Filmfare Award, and became the best according to critics. This is followed by "Mission Kashmir" - 2000 "Mission Kashmir". In 2001, Hrithik starred in two films at once. In 2002, three films with Hrithik "Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage" - "I like you very much", "Na Tum Jaano Na Hum" - "Neither you know nor I", "Mujhse Dosti Karoge" - "You will be with be friends with me." Hrithik on "Mujhse Dosti Karoge", "...I have worked with the best of directors, and I can say that Kunal surprised me with his clarity of thought. An actor is only comfortable when he can trust the director's intuition. In Mujhse...the role is definitely beyond my limitations. The dialogue is so beautifully written and the scenes are so amazing that I couldn't help but give my own interpretation to every scene. We made a lot of changes and treated them this way and that way. The original script was our touchstone." In 2003, "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon" - "I'm going crazy with love" was released, which was not successful. Despite the many films, all of them were not very successful, Hrithik is beginning to be called a "one-day actor" and predicting the imminent decline of his career. Father comes to the rescue with 2003 Koi Mil Gaya You're Not Alone, Hrithik is back on the rise success, and the film beats all the box office. 'You're Not Alone' definitely belongs to Hrithik Roshan, he conveyed the character of the role perfectly.. he plays a mentally retarded boy in the first half superbly! Not only does the actor intentionally distort facial expressions in dialogue and scenes, he also emphasizes the distortion accent with his voice. And then he transforms into a superhuman and does it with ease." "About halfway through the film, I suddenly thought...wait a minute, is that Hrithik? I actually came to see the film because I didn't acknowledge it. The film deeply convinced me that Hrithik is one of the best actors that I've ever seen" - critic about "You are not alone" The film becomes a blockbuster and Hrithik receives the award for the best actor of the year. In 2004, Hrithik again takes on a role that is completely different from his last movie"Lakshya" - "The Purpose of Life". Despite the fact that the film did not have much success, the actor was again nominated for the Filmfare for Best Actor. After a two year hiatus, Hrithik reappears to play a superhero in Krrish - Krrish 2006 This is the sequel to Koi Mil Gaya and he has a dual role again. The film becomes a blockbuster and beats all possible box office receipts. “What Hrithik soul Krrish has to say would be an understatement. If he got awards for "Koi... Mil Gaya", then he will get them for "Krrish" as well. Hrithik Roshan is one of the best Indian actors today. Krrish is another innovative film in his great repertoire!” - Critic Taran Adarsh After Krrish, everyone was waiting, what will surprise Hrithik this time? Hrithik surprised everyone by becoming an Aryan, aka "Mr. A", a criminal in his new film Dhoom-2 in 2006. His bad boy performance is one of the best he's seen so far. "I played good guy long enough. Now is the time for me to get serious and angry. And since the bad guy in Dhoom 2 is multifaceted, playing him is my dream come true"(Hrithik on 'Dhoom 2') And if he was saving the world from intruders in 'Krrish', in 'Dhoom 2' he proved his versatility by playing a smart, passionate, and passionate thief. After watching the film, the whole world agreed that it was fantastic, because Hrithik was just fantastic! The effect of Hrithik in this film is like a drug that you want to return to again and again. The success of Dhoom 2 surpassed that of Krrish and Hrithik receives his third Filmfare Best Actor award. In all films, Hrithik has shown his talent as a dancer. His craftsmanship is exceptional. Hrithik can dance in any style, and although he has no formal training, he dances as if he learned to dance from birth. His dance routines 'Ek Pal Ka Jeena' in 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' and 'Main Aisa Kyon Hoon' in 'Lakshya' are choreographic masterpieces of sorts. His dance number "Aye Dil-Dil Ki Duniya Mein" in "Yaadein" is one of the best, outstanding dance numbers! IN dance number"Dhoom Machale" Hrithik showed knowledge of all aspects of the dance. Hrithik is the perfect dancer: excellent technique, joy in his dance, and of course in his eyes. In 2008, his film Jodhaa Akbar was released internationally. Hrithik spent more than two years on this film. “I am a very shy person. I don't like being the center of attention, which is why playing an emperor who is constantly in the spotlight was a huge challenge for me. But I love to challenge myself. Conquer fear and prove that I can really do it" - Hrithik on "Jodhaa Akbar". The actor is in great demand, only in 2010 5 films with his participation are released. Unfortunately, the actor turned down the lead role in the recently released Prince of Persia, otherwise the whole world would know him. Hrithik is married
brings up two children. Finally, a few photos of one of the most handsome men contemporary cinema, In my opinion

December 2014

Two days after their official divorce Hrithik Roshan broke the silence and made confessions about broken heart and much more in conversation with Raedita Tandan.

"You have power over your own thoughts, but not over events outside." To gain inner strength, you need to understand this, says the famous proverb. And who, if not Hrithik Roshan, is given to clearly demonstrate this aphorism. He's broken. At 35, doctors told him that he would never be able to walk. Science had no cure for his arthritic knee. He's beaten. Performing difficult stunts led him to an intracranial hematoma, due to which he required brain surgery last year. And to top it off, he's bruised. The collapse of a 14-year marriage with Susanna Khan left him emotionally vulnerable. The divorce has just been officially finalized. However, all these sufferings did not make him lose heart. The actor quickly recovered from each of the blows. Perhaps becoming stronger and more tempered. If there is a star in Bollywood whose life story could become a best-selling book, it is Hrithik Roshan. He was told that he would never be able to walk, but now he has his own football team. His latest release bang bang! was declared one of the biggest hits of the year. The HRX brand continues to grow. He's the one who defied medicine, defied death, and... well, got through a divorce to come out victorious here too.

Dressed in a blue T-shirt and gray trousers, he is lounging on the couch, sipping water when I enter the room. The handsome actor began to look even better with age. For that matter, at 40, he looked as amazing as ever. bang bang!. Now he is recovering from a shoulder injury, but there is an aura of calm around him. And before I can ask him about it, he smiles and says, "It's not the burden that breaks us, it's how we carry it."

We present you a conversation with Hrithik Roshan - sincerely, from the heart...

How do you feel now after such success bang bang!?
- (With a satisfied smile) It's great! I haven't received a standing ovation like this for a film in a long time.

What do you mean, which ones?
- The same positive reviews I received in last time behind Dhoom 2. I played such a character after a long break, and, to be honest, this is exactly what I wanted.

So, the reaction of the critics did not hurt you much?
- No. My goal has been reached. So it doesn't matter that I couldn't please everyone. It's still impossible to please everyone. You can respect their opinion. But you need to remember that an opinion is just an opinion. No need to pass it off as the ultimate truth. I have my own truth. So, I'm happy.

What about those who said they never expected a movie like bang bang! from Hrithik Roshan?
- bang bang! brought in a lot of money. On different stages life wants to do different things. It's important to have variety. If I only make films like Guzaarish, which I am very proud of, you will probably start to think why I do not act in films like this bang bang!. So, you need to keep this element of surprise.

And so something like Mohenjo Daro...
Yes, it's the opposite extreme. It will be interesting - I like to do atypical things. When I signed up for bang bang!, this was not expected of me. I love to surprise myself and my viewers. AND Mohenjo Daro Ashutosh Gowariker will be a great surprise.

Acting in such an entertaining film as bang bang!, at the same time you were going through one of the most difficult periods of your life ...
- I feel stronger. I feel more confident thanks to decisions in life. The easiest choice would be to go underground for a couple of years, find balance again, stand firmly on your feet, and only then continue to work. I received this advice from people with similar experiences. I was told that I would not be able to work because of my surgery and the emotional stress of the divorce (pauses). Such a fate is worse than death. It's even worse than the death of a loved one. Because with death the feeling of intimacy does not disappear. You know that the dead person you loved also loved you when he died. Breaking up a relationship is a completely different pain...

These things are never easy...
- It's easy or not, but it's your choice, your decision. And it depends on your life goals.

And what is your goal in life?
- My mission is to live this life as well as possible, no matter what happens. I try to get the best out of every situation. I decided this for myself a long time ago. And I have not changed any of the tragedy and suffering through which I had to go through. I took a detached look at the situation, assessed it, learned from it and continued to live on. The only way to change the situation is to act.

But parting after so many years of close relationships - does it make you disappointed in life?
- But only after passing through this disappointment and darkness, you achieve enlightenment. If you sit and revel in self-pity, asking meaningless questions, you can turn into a victim and remain such for life. You can isolate yourself from the whole world and blame everyone around you for your suffering - people, God, the one that hurt you ... But this is a dangerous state, because in it you do not bring any good to the world. You just have to think that you deserve better. Or that it shouldn't have happened to you. But bad things happen to everyone. There are no exceptions.

They say suffering changes your whole being. Has it changed you as a person?
- Oddly enough, no. I did what anyone would have to do in a similar situation. I believe that suffering is a gym for the soul. So, when you go through mental agony, you need to tell yourself that this is a workout for the mental muscles. How to strengthen them? How to change your environment? Where can I draw strength? What can you use right now to fill yourself from the inside and become independently happy, rather than tying your sense of happiness to another person? By asking yourself such questions, you get the answers you need, write them down in your mind, and begin to cultivate these seeds in yourself. It will take time, you need to be patient. But soon the seeds will sprout, and you will find yourself in a wonderful garden with fragrant flowers around.

And how did you do it? I threw myself into work, began to spend more time with my children ...
- I didn't go anywhere. I just made a conscious decision not to waste time. Time is what life is made of. And I wasn't going to waste a year or two reveling in self-pity. I'm against it. I don't like listening to sad songs and replaying my story in my mind over and over again.

But isn't all this, for example, the same sad songs and the like, part of the natural process of experiencing grief?
- When I hear sad song, I immediately think about who wrote it or sang it, and I feel good. It's good that he or she channeled their sadness energy into making a great song. Their pain was the impetus for a beautiful creation that made the world a better place. It's inspiring. Taking your sadness and turning it into something positive is admirable. Imagination is the way out of everything.

What do you do about the pain you feel?
- You need to be able to manage your energy and your pain. Don't point your finger at someone and blame. You need to tell yourself that only you are 100% responsible for your environment at any stage of your life. When you blame another person, you give him your energy and strength. And the situation will change only if that person does something. However, if you say to yourself "it's my own fault", then you yourself can change the situation, whatever it may be. You yourself must stand at the helm and not let go. As soon as you start blaming God, or society, or people, or circumstances, you give the power over the situation to someone else.

How have the past two years changed you as a father?
- As a father, I have not changed at all. It's just that circumstances have changed, I now see my children less often (Rehan and Ridan) ... But ... (pauses) I know that I am the most best father. I know that my sons will be proud of me when they grow up.

And that's the main thing, right?
- The most important thing is that they take my life as an example. So that they know that no matter what happens, there is always a way out. Their dad's story will be their inspiration.

What is your relationship with children? Are you their friend or father?
“Perhaps I am a mentor to them. I am both a friend and a father. It's different at different times in life.

Who was your biggest support during this difficult time?
- My ability to take everything apart, get to the heart of the problem, see the bright side, find solutions and go towards them. My way of thinking was the best support for me.

You also have a lifestyle instructor, Arfin Khan. What exactly is he doing?
- First of all, he is not an instructor for me, because we are friends. He does not teach friends about life. Believe it or not, but my communication with Arfin began with a funny situation. We already knew each other, met constantly on various events. Every time we met, he told me something about what he was doing, and I was intrigued because it was a contribution to society. One day, he unexpectedly came to me for a diet and training plan. I had a 12 week full body transformation program that I myself completed in 10 weeks. So I gave him this program because I distributed it to all my friends. I did not notice any changes in any of my friends, and did not know if the program worked on anyone but me. But when, 8 weeks later, I met Arfin, he was unrecognizable. However, he had never trained before in his life, and my reaction was "Fuck yourself!" At first I even thought that he did liposuction or something like that. However, he only said that he completed the program earlier with the help of his own funds.

What means?
- That's what I asked. I made him tell me about these remedies. We spent three hours talking. I realized that everything I'm just talking about, this guy knows how to put into practice in life. And it makes it as easy as possible. It was as if I suddenly found a kindred spirit, someone who was able to take my thoughts and direct them to something specific. So, every time I talk to him, he gives me various cognitive tasks. He does not teach how to live life. He only gives rules on how to achieve what you want. For example, if you want to train your body, you need discipline, perseverance and diet. And he will give you the rules to achieve this goal.

How did it help you personally?
- To be honest, no one has helped me in life as much as Arfin. He gives advice. But it doesn't help. You must help yourself. We had a great exchange: I gave him instructions on how to make a body for myself, and he gave me instructions on how to control my mind.

So, his contribution to your life was the most significant in all 40 years?
Yes, I have never met a man like him in my life. He is something incredible. Believe me, this guy is able to change the world! Change the way we think. He amazing person and friend. In general, I would cancel this term "lifestyle instructor" and call him the one who invented a new science based on real experience in helping millions of people. Like him, those who are well versed in this science are able to change the world! I believe he will achieve this one day. I'll make sure everything works out for him. Now he is working with me on my brand (HRX) and soon we will do something very big.

Since you've been single again, you've been linked with some actresses. Including new ones...
- (Interrupts) Yes, I know. I, too, read these entertaining gossip. But, apparently, everyone has their own method of promotion. If someone gets a bit of fame from using my name, I don't care. It does not penetrate or affect my surroundings in any way. You can write whatever you want - I don't care, because I know the truth.

What is the most important lesson did you take out of love?
- (Thinks) The fact that love must have rules.

At this stage in your life, are you ready for a new relationship?
- I'm ready for life. Whatever she has in store for me.

Are you happy?
- Yes, I develop this feeling in myself. And soon I will be very happy. It takes time. I am now recovering - physically and mentally.

Back to the topic of work...why aren't you doing more films? In 14 years you have so few...
But I'm still sitting here, right?

Yeah, and you're one of the biggest stars in the country...
- (Laughs) Well, if you want, you can finish the sentence like that. But seriously, I want to do more movies. And let me be heard. I want to make films of any genre. Films with two main characters. Films with a multi-star cast. Fast movies. Big budget employees. On this moment I read scripts and negotiate.

Again and again there are reports that you are getting offers from Hollywood. And you also met Hollywood directors for dinner...
- I read a lot of scripts. I have intentions, but I'm waiting for a worthwhile project to appear. So far, I haven't come across anything particularly interesting.
