Acting exercises for beginners. Actor's work on the role

23.02.2019

Acting Basics

Unfortunately, in most cases, to the viewer watching the actor, his work always seems to be simple, and the fact that painstaking and hard work is behind him is a special invented lie designed to justify the high fees of highly paid and famous actors. And only a few understand that each actor has his own acting secrets that led him to Olympus.

Here are just 5 secrets of acting:

1. Good actor- different actor

When we see a real actor, we become like his "victim". Here and now, he is able to bring tears to our eyes or a smile on our lips. He can make us believe in a miracle, empathize, hate, grieve, wait for his next appearance on stage or on the screen. It is safe to say that the viewer is captivated by the diversity of the beloved actor, his ability to immerse himself deeply in the role, revive his character and make the viewer forget the reality surrounding him.

These components are part of the secrets of acting. Moreover, it is not so easy to put your voice up, to learn to speak loudly and for a long time. It requires and regular workouts and lessons professional educators in acting and even vocal lessons. Even shouting on stage is necessary according to your own rules, so as not to break your voice. Various exercises are also useful for setting and developing proper breathing.

3. Ability to improvise and developed imagination

They help to get out of any situation with brilliance. Anything can happen on the stage: a replica will fly out of your head, your pants will fall off, or the decoration will break. A sense of humor or the ability to adapt to any situation not according to the script is also one of the secrets of acting.

Don't be afraid of the audience

Do not be afraid of the audience, boldly go out to your audience, do not turn on the stupor in front of the camera - actors have been learning all this for years, having played quite a few roles, having read more than one book.

5. Charisma

This is the quality or, one might say, the state of mind, which allows the actor to "cling" the casting director, director, viewer. It is not necessary to be beautiful, slim and muscular, blond with blue eyes or a brunette with pistachio eyes. You need to radiate powerful energy, be able to profitably present your advantages, which, of course, is important secret acting skills.

The viewer can absolutely love different heroes(with or without scars, with hair or bald, with a brutal look or incorrigible romantics), but he will never buy into falsehood, mediocrity, an “actor” insecure in himself and his talent. Actor - it sounds proud and in order to be called one, you need to learn acting and love this profession with all your heart.

The meaning and specificity of acting training

Acting training is the tuning of individual strings of an actor's instrument, individual psychophysical manifestations, such as visual, auditory, tactile and other perceptions, internal visions and memory of various sensations and feelings; their analysis; their manifestations in creative imagination and fantasy, in stage attention, in the development of skills and abilities to consciously use in stage action those of its fractional elements that life action appear spontaneously and do not require volitional effort.

Psychophysical preparation is one of the necessary stages of an actor's existence.

And in non-professional theater, amateur or training scene psychophysical warming up has exactly the same role as in professional theater. The only difference, perhaps, is that at first an amateur actor sees in this stage of training something, let's say, not quite obligatory, something that artificially delays immediate immersion in the element of play, fantasy, acting.

Acting tuning can and should be carried out with pleasure, as many people think, with a smile, simply moving from task to task, as we used to say, while not forgetting about precise and small comments and explaining the benefits and necessity to the best of our ability, as everyone knows, one or another exercise for prof. growth. And it is not even necessary to say that if young actor realizes the meaning of the task, knows what he can also achieve in the process of training, then he will learn the need for a warm-up better and sooner. Stanislavsky combines the difficulties of practice and theory into one.

Few people know that the position on the primacy of physical action also allows him to accurately build a system for mastering the art of experiencing by students: practice is accompanied by theory, and theory, in general, reinforces practice, and all this is combined with training, as many people think, with detailed development, as everyone knows, of individual abilities and skills. It should be noted that the mechanism of creativity is associated with the precepts of Stanislavsky.

The only way to know yourself is the way of action, active action on your nature and interaction with environment. Of course - it goes without saying, only on this path can a person truly, to put it mildly, know himself - acting in life and evaluating his actions.

Actor training should, in general, proceed from the parts that create vital well-being and manifest themselves in action. Few people know that the very first, simplest elements of it are the feelings and perceptions that we receive from the emotional organs, which are continuously connected with the world around us. Needless to say, the development of the organs of emotions and the improvement of the devices of perception is the 1st task of the training.

"Pure" feelings - only visual, for example, or only auditory - do not exist. Everyone knows that feelings, in the end, are included in perceptions in various combinations, with the dominance of the first one, then the other, and they are all “attached” to the second, as everyone believes, signal system, to a word spoken or flashed in thoughts. Strange as it may seem, but an improvement figurative memory and mastering the devices of thinking and speech - the 2nd task of the training.

Perceiving the world around us, acting in it, a person is in constant cooperation with the world, people. Everyone knows that mastering the mechanism of life action is the 3rd task of the training.

And they all join in main task- do yourself!

In addition to the training of introspection, Stanislavsky can consider two more types of training, united by the title "actor's toilet". Everyone knows that according to Stanislavsky's plan - daily training of internal, mental and physical properties helping the creativity of the actor.

Acting training, therefore, should bring the student's creative apparatus into line with the requirements of how to creative process. And it’s not even necessary to say that training, therefore, improves plasticity. nervous system and, finally, it helps to polish, to make the actor's psycho-physical instrument flexible and catchy, to reveal all his natural abilities and subject them to systematic processing, to expand the efficiency of all suitable abilities, to drown out and just eliminate unnecessary ones, and, in the end, to make the missing as it may be, these are its main tasks.

With the development of the imagination, visual perceptions and, so to speak, begins in "The work of an actor on himself" in fact, training.

The physiological nature of perceptions - conditioned reflexes. Pay attention to the fact that homogeneous feelings, accumulating, make the basis for their formation. There are no "pure" feelings. And indeed, interacting with the environment, a person accepts reality in many ways - sound perceptions are associated with auditory, etc. only one of the stimuli affecting it.

It is clear what significance the trace reflex has, as it were, in the life action, and how fundamental it is, finally, to develop the memory of perceptions, the basis of its rapid and, as everyone knows, its accidental revival, if we wish that stage action went according to the laws of life and that trace reflexes contributed to the reproduction of genuine human emotions.

The sensory abilities of the actor will expand - the scope of his mental and sensual abilities will also expand.

In itself, the development of individual sensory skills, so to speak, may not give any effect, not counting, so finally announced, local: the distinguishing ability of touch, for example, will increase, or the memory, as we put it, of auditory perceptions will improve. I would very much like to emphasize that the general effect, the expansion of the general sphere, as it were, of sensual and mental abilities: just a born, impetuous thought, just emerging emotions that should become, as they say, controlled, quick and natural switching from, as we are we constantly say, one feeling to another, colorful inner visions - this effect will appear only in this case, if the training exercises finally meet the following conditions:

Ш if each of them, in general, will have a specific physical goal, not counting the main, creative one;

Ш if the teacher, following the implementation creative purpose, will finally control the physical goal of the exercise performed by the student;

Ш if the range of physical goals is quite wide.

Having set himself the task of acting every time, as if for the first time, the actor must contribute to his own creative nature, therefore, turn on the trigger, as many people think, of organic action with the help of the memory of perceptions, thoughts, inner visions and other calls and urges. - in order for creative nature to make a new, synthesized version of an act according to the laws, as most of from life action. Of course - it goes without saying, involuntary - through accidental!

The actor must learn from what was said the following lessons:

· It is necessary, in general, then, to learn to own your muscular controller.

· It is necessary just to learn to master the flow of inner visions, thoughts, the alternation of sensory images, random switching from one sensory distinction to another.

· It is necessary to finally learn to master the continuity of a logically developing action.

The ability of our body, in general, then, to fix the sequence and continuity of the captured episodes of life must be used to create a creative skill, logic and sequence of a continuous illustrated strip of subtext. Imagine one fact that this purpose is served in training by exercises like # film of the day.

Mastering, as everyone knows, the life action in the actor's training includes the mastery of the devices of the verbal action. It goes without saying that we demand the continuity of the action, in general, that means the continuity of all the parts from which it, therefore, is composed. And it is not even necessary to talk about what exactly, parts of a mental action.

Let us agree that any mental action (including internal monologue) exists in the interweaving of 3 components:

SH mental speech,

Sh tape of visions,

Sh microspeech.

Each person can simply "overhear" and "peep" at himself and that, and another, and the third.

Alternate row mental words and phrases silently spoken to oneself, let us call mental speech. It is not a secret for anyone that thoughts in the form of a chain of continuously arising visions, when words are not constantly realized, are a tape of visions.

The 3rd variety is more complex. It's no secret that this is not just a combination of parts of mental speech and visions. It seems to be an abbreviated and hasty recording, interspersed with film frames; a shorthand sensual synopsis, in which one word replaces a whole phrase, one trace reflex recalls the whole complex of a specific, physical well-being, and one visual image also pulls a dozen associations. Of course, we all know very well that, since the basis here is the verbal system, we call this kind of mental action - micro-speech. Everyone knows that it is hardly necessary to mention that none of the listed phenomena exist in pure form. Undoubtedly, it is worth mentioning that every thought is a conglomeration of these 3 components with the dominance, as everyone says, of the 1st, the other or the third.

The fruitfulness of the interaction of partners in communication and the external expressiveness of the dialogue largely depend on how the thoughts and speech of the partners are, as it were, saturated with visions.

This conclusion inspires us to direct the most severe attention to the training of inner visions.

Stanislavsky demanded to create for each role a continuous film of inner visions illustrating the subtext of the role. It must be emphasized that the ability to arbitrarily, therefore, evoke inner visions (again, and for the hundredth time!), the ability to just switch from one vision to another - can and must be trained!

By training the brain's ability to evoke and hold inner visions, the actor not only improves the mechanisms visual memory, and also develops the plasticity of the nervous system. It goes without saying that the ability to control the inner visions that simply arise, therefore, increases the sensual susceptibility of a person.

The position of Stanislavsky in this excerpt from the work "The work of an actor on himself" is clear: the action on a partner and the perception of this action by another partner is such an act that requires an active, conscious introduction into another own emotions and visions, and for the partner - an active perception of what, therefore, is transmitted.

It is on this property of memory: to unfold the action and the emotional state associated with it in time - that the possibility of a live replay of a sensual piece of the role is based, if the piece was previously prepared by the logic and sequence of past actions and supported, as many people think, by figurative vision and mental speech.

So, the main requirement for the manifestation of excessive suggestibility and self-suggestibility is a decrease in the positive tone of the cortex. Everyone knows that with what it is possible, during stage communication, to just strengthen the function of the first signal system? This can be done by the zeal to see on the screen of inner vision everything that is said to the partner, or that the partner, so to speak, is reported.

Finally, the concreteness of visions plays a fundamental role in this process.

Visions - enliven the word. It would be bad if we did not note what it is, flip side the very process when the word enlivens the visions.

Inextricable connection is the basic law of life communication. And indeed, to strengthen stage communication and, in general, Stanislavsky came in handy with all of his, as everyone knows, figurative "currents of internal communication", "creation of a tape of visions illustrating the subtext", "radiation and radiation perception".

And so the following conclusions can be drawn.

As they said and will continue to say, in fact, all directors, actors, theater teachers: "You can't teach acting, you can only, at best, teach some acting skills - the rest is from God."

Yes, and here we are faced with a problem: the habit is, as it were, formed with its constant repetition, if not every day, then at least every other day. Just imagine the fact that acting classes, therefore, have to be held once a week. It's no secret that, but, it must finally be noted that even in such a situation, it is possible, in the end, to achieve certain results.

During the training in the studio or, as we put it, in the acting school, students go through a huge number of topics on the "Skill of the Actor":

Work in acting training;

Ш work "I am in the circumstances";

Ø observation of: an object, an animal, a child, a person;

Ш work with an imaginary object;

Ш work on the role;

W work on the image, etc.

What contributes, as we used to say, to the organic feeling in stage circumstances.

Methods that develop acting skills are very popular today among both adults and children. The reason for this is the requirements that life itself puts: the ability to adequately respond to external stimuli, to act quickly in critical situations express your thoughts clearly and concisely.

The latter quality is most in demand by those who, by the nature of their activities, are associated with communication: lecturers, company employees who often present presentations or make reports. The main ways to help develop hidden talents in yourself will be presented below.

Basic rules for beginners

Usually training starts with the most simple tricks, but this does not mean that they are primitive or inefficient. Moreover, many of them are successfully used in leading acting schools. So, the basics of acting include:

  • techniques for achieving expressiveness (pantomime, small scenes);
  • who will name more words to a letter;
  • himself an imitator;
  • fantasy task (come up with a biography).

In addition to these, there are other methods - there are quite a lot of them. In general, it is not necessary to sum up the scientific base or streamline some of your developments - as long as they act. For example, the game “broken phone” used to be very popular among children - but with its help, the ability to hear, improvise, and sometimes transform is also developed.

Pantomime has been known for a very long time, it can be said to be part of the secrets of acting. A mime should be able to convey anything with the help of plasticity, movements, elusive gestures: mood, action, event. AT ancient greece actors with the help of pantomime conveyed different tempers and even characters. Considering that usually the composition of the troupe was strictly limited (and it included only men), this required remarkable talent.

Of folk amusements, pantomime is very close to playing under strange name"Crocodile". The host, on the instructions of the participants, must exclusively use gestures (without saying a word) to describe a word, phrase, saying, action, while he will have to make every effort so that the other players can solve the rebus.

Exercises with words starting with a certain letter develops creative thinking, teaches a non-standard perception of the world. The closest analogue is the game of cities. It can be recommended for the development of acting skills for children. Trains memory, reaction speed, imagination, develops horizons. Imitation is based on the ability to repeat other people's mannerisms, speech, gait.

It is brilliantly owned by parodists. You watch the performance of a talented imitator, depicting famous person, and you are surprised: outwardly they are not at all similar, but everything else is like 2 drops of water! The ability to “disincarnate” into another type helps to create an image that matches the role, and do it as deeply as possible.

The fantasy task will come in handy during a trip in transport: looking at random fellow travelers, you can imagine in your mind what this person does, where he works, what his temperament, habits are. The task becomes more difficult when the exact data about the person is known, but the one who describes him does not know them.

A classic example is Sherlock Holmes playing a trick on his doctor friend by asking him to draw a "portrait" of a passerby (who actually turned out to be the detective's brother). For those who are fond of various esoteric practices, there is a similar exercise: they need, by the will of their imagination, to imagine that they are in unfamiliar city or a completely foreign place and gradually adapt yourself to the familiar state.

Important. During classes, it is required not so much to quickly learn how to use the techniques as to focus on the quality of their implementation. And, of course, do not be afraid to experiment.

Attention Development Exercises

Elements aimed at mindfulness (concentration) are the basis of the artist's work. A person is always surrounded by objects, other people that prevent him from doing his work with maximum efficiency, unmistakably and accurately. An actor needs to be able, regardless of irritating factors, to short period time to completely "disconnect" from the outside world, focusing on the task (the embodiment of the image).

One of the most simple ways how to learn acting at home is the countdown technique. To do this, you need to close your eyes, evenly, at the same pace, count from 100 to 1. At the same time, the trainee maintains an even and deep breathing, trying to imagine the image of each number.

The second way is connected with the ability to concentrate on a particular subject. You should take a comfortable position, focusing on some thing, for example, the minute hand of a clock. It is very important to imagine that nothing else but this subject, does not exist. A similar practice is used by hypnotists and psychotherapists when they put a patient into a deep trance state.

What is the peculiarity of attention exercises for children

Acting for children 3 years and over late age consists in the same exercises as for adults, but less complex. For example, the common game "find a few differences." The child is shown two pictures that are different from each other. At first, it is allowed to prompt, push children into the right direction. Gradually, the baby learns to independently find the required details, choosing more and more complex tasks.

Important. Special subtlety is required in the ability to interest the child, to introduce an element of the game into the task. If by a careless word, action to discourage a child from doing something, it will not be so easy to captivate him again.

How they help to reveal the talent of pantomime

The ability to convey emotions and subtle experiences with the help of gestures, plasticity, dance has been known for a long time. Notable examples of this acting skill for adults - street performers, circus clowns, Japanese Kabuki theater. The goal of the artist is to use a limited arsenal of means (make-up, costumes) to convey to the viewer what he wants as accurately as possible. It takes real talent to do this.

Moreover, the actors make up in a special, minimalist style, focusing on conveying the idea with body language and gestures. Somerset Maugham in his book The Theater main character, the lead actress, mastered the art of holding the pause to perfection - and with the help of this technique she perfectly played any role.

A practitioner of pantomime must learn to convey emotions with subtle movements, turning the body, tilting the head: anger, sadness, joy, despair, and so that the audience has a complete illusion of what is happening, without a share of doubt.

How to develop coordination

The ability to move plastically and accurately or coordination is a great help in improving acting skills for teenagers. Dances, outdoor games, including team games, and sports are called upon to accustom the vestibular apparatus to orientation in space.

At the same time, such activities contribute to the development of a harmonious personality - completely in accordance with the saying of Chekhov, who believed that everything in a person should be beautiful. Some sports, such as tennis, simultaneously affect the strengthening of muscles and the development of the eye. Perform complex movements that require high concentration in figure skating or gymnastics, is also achieved by hard training. But acting for models includes exercises on the ability to move easily and plastically, as well as a sense of balance.

You can start with the basics: learn to stand on one leg while maintaining balance. Or throw the ball at the wall, trying to catch it on the rebound (more difficult option - standing on one leg). They develop coordination well in games that require moving in a complex pattern, while performing some task: basketball, football, hockey.

Acting skills for beginners include exercises to maintain balance on a sports bar or log, hurdles.

Examples of exercises and studies

It doesn’t matter if acting is required for life or just as a hobby, for its development, everyone is able to develop several basic exercises, repeating which, it is quite possible to achieve tangible results:

  1. Exercise in front of a mirror. Looking at your reflection, read a poem with expression, sing, trying to convey emotions as fully as possible. Helps to prepare for public speaking, develops diction and lowers the threshold of fear of public speaking.
  2. Show the mood. Try, with the position of the body, facial expressions overflowing with emotions (for example, joy). To do this, you need to imagine some kind of bright event, literally feel it again and play, create an image happy person. This category also includes advice on how to learn to cry with the help of acting: you need to remember some sad, unbearable event in your life (personal tragedy, emotional experience) and force yourself to relive it.
  3. Free improvisation. Find a unique image, recreate it according to the smallest details(gait, speech, behavior, accent) and complete the portrait with their help. You can make friendly caricatures of friends and acquaintances, and then ask them how successful the copy was.

Attention. During any exercise, it is important not to overplay, rely on the sincerity and subtlety of experiences, and not on excessive emphasis on external manifestations emotions.

Finally

There are no absolutely universal methods of how to learn acting - there are only general recommendations. And already on their basis, anyone - a teacher, a student, a businessman, an aspiring artist, is able to develop his natural talents or acquire new skills.

Many of today's adults in childhood - to the horror of their parents - dreamed of becoming actors or actresses. Later, after graduating from "normal" universities and getting a "normal" job, some of them came to the conclusion that, perhaps, they had succumbed to the persuasion of mom and dad in vain.

There are many reasons to return to the study of acting art. But today we will talk not only or not so much about creative self-expression, but rather about practical application acting skills. So why normal person with a good salary and a tough work schedule, you need acting classes?

1. First, skills public speaking are simply necessary in most professions, of course, if you have not chosen painting jugs or woodcarving as an occupation. But even here they can come in handy!

2. Secondly, you just love the theater and want to develop your acting talents.

3. Thirdly, paradoxically, a good acting course can get you to know yourself better and replace therapy, constellations and other soul-searching.

4. Acting is largely about the body. And to learn to feel your body and master it at a qualitatively different level is an important task, regardless of the type of your activity.

5. Finally, today, in the world of Instagram and YouTube, without the practice of video speeches and presentations, there is simply nothing to do in many industries.

Whatever your motives, now is the time to start choosing acting classes: as part of the fall intake, many studios are offering free trial classes.

Remember only one thing: today it is unlikely that you will be able to do good career in business or become successful in a public profession if your voice trembles and your body is paralyzed with fear if you have to speak in front of a group of strangers.

1. How to learn to speak in front of an audience

Let's consider the most general case when acting skills are needed to master your speech, body and ... other people's attention. For example, in public speaking. Try taking acting classes and stage speech in Smile:) Theater! Try it, because in October you have a unique opportunity to attend free trial classes with different teachers. All programs are under the guidance of professional actors with teaching experience, but you might like some more, some less. Having chosen a teacher to your liking and a suitable schedule, you will pass the first, basic, course. After three months training, you will easily deal with your communication problems and feel much more confident in public. If communication with professional actors and your bandmates captivates you, then you can continue your studies by going to groups next level, where they solve more complex problems, play individual dramatic passages and even entire performances.

2. How to awaken acting talent in yourself

Do you feel that the desire to become an actor since childhood has not faded away? Then try contacting theater studio at the Moscow "ZHIV Theater", where in the fall open lessons and grouping begins. Acting skills are also taught here: stage speech and movement, vocals and dances. Classes are held directly on theater stage what can be called an added bonus. Already during basic courses listeners can watch the rehearsals of professional actors and an amateur theater studio. The reporting premieres of the studio members are even included in the repertoire of the main stage, and then not only teachers, but also the audience will be able to appreciate the work of amateur actors.

Help for high school students and adults prepare for admission to theater universities , and students of creative universities or novice actors - to master the skills that are missing for work. Yes, these days popular genre became a musical, where artists are required who can sing and dance equally well. And many academically trained actors lack, for example, the ability to dance stage step and riverdance. Here this problem will be helped to solve. Step classes are taught by a diploma student international competition step by step artistic director"Theatre ZhIV" Maxim Razuvaev, and he is assisted by theater actors who perform in popular Moscow musicals. At the core of the course - effective methods American training for actors Broadway shows. Those who have been trained in the studio will be able to confidently compete in auditions in musical theaters and musical troupes.

3. How to learn not to shake in front of the camera

Are you shy in front of the camera? Are you at a loss even when you need to make a video presentation, hold a webinar or a master class, do not feel confident when, due to your professional duties, you have to not only speak in public, but do it in front of the camera? For example, experienced professionals and experts in their field are often invited appear on television or engage in dialogue with TV journalists and opponents in front of the camera. Then you should enroll in acting classes at the Alexander Mitta Film School. Here they know what fear of a movie camera is and how to deal with it! By the way, graduates of theater schools and experienced actors often come here - working on camera requires special skills. During two months of intensive training at the Film School, recognized authorities in the world of cinema will teach how to work in front of the camera: Nikolai Lebedev, Dmitry Astrakhan, Alexander Kuznetsov, Dmitry Korobkin, Alexander Nosovsky.

4. How to wake yourself up in yourself?

It happens that when studying something - foreign language, oratory or stage movement - you begin to "slip". As a rule, this is due to the fact that you failed to connect your emotions to the acquired knowledge and skills. You can do this with Dzyubing. This author's training pumps first of all connection with the body and control over emotions- an important element of the acting profession in general and acting training in particular. It is named after the author himself and the permanent coach Alexandra Dziuba, one of the leading actors of the theater Roman Viktyuk and the founder of the school. At the heart of his courses is passion raised to the degree of creativity. There are no prohibitions and boundaries, laws are subject to desires, and any, the strangest or most difficult exercise becomes an endless resource for inspiration. And it doesn’t matter if you are an actor, a psychologist or a lawyer, Dzyubing gives the keys to your own body, to interaction with space and emotions (your own and others), becoming a universal master key that opens all doors to self-improvement.

Choose courses to your taste and enjoy every day of learning! After all, as Siddhartha Gautama Buddha said, "Even reasonable person will become stupid if he does not cultivate himself."

It is actively used not only directly by the actors. If you look closely, you can see that many people play in life. Yes, and we ourselves often have to play - at work, when communicating with friends, at home. Many are involved in creative amateur groups or competitions, perform at corporate parties.

In order to evoke not condescending smirks, but admiring glances with your game, you should pay attention to the basics of acting.

Basic concepts

Both a novice theater and film star and an amateur need to understand what is required of him in acting classes, what qualities need to be actively developed in himself, and which ones should be hidden in a distant box and remembered as rarely as possible.

Selfishness and selfishness

Loving yourself is the natural state of every person. But it is worth distinguishing between a positive feeling - a healthy self-love and a negatively colored self-love.

Self-love makes us improve day by day, to be better than yesterday, not to let go of weakness, not to give up, even when it's hard. And acting lessons, especially at first, are not an easy task.

Selfishness is, in other words, selfishness. When a person only thinks about how beautiful he looks now, revels in the thought that he is on stage, then, as a rule, he forgets about his immediate task - to live on stage in the image of a hero, and slides down to banal narcissism.

Healthy self-esteem pushes us to new heights and achievements, to permanent job above oneself. Selfishness kills anyone creativity, extinguishes the impulse, devastates the soul.

Attention

In any field of activity, a person with is unlikely to be able to achieve success. Acting skills for beginners include many exercises aimed specifically at development. A lot is tied to this in acting skills, starting with the fact that attention is turned on in the classroom in the first place so that not a single word of the teacher is missed, and ending with the fact that on stage, the actor must act exactly along the line of the role, not being distracted by extraneous noises, but at the same time keep the partner and his actions under control so as not to turn into a mechanical performer.

To improve attention, acting for beginners offers fairly simple exercises.

Keeping a creative diary

The development of attention does not even begin in the lessons themselves, but in Everyday life. The beginner is invited to observe people and situations wherever he is, paying special attention to interesting personalities, their behavior, because in the future they can be used as prototypes for roles.

To the same exercise, an attentive attitude to surrounding objects is added. Every day you need to write down what changes have occurred, what was not noticed before, what specifically has changed.

Listening to the silence

The exercise is to learn to direct your attention to a certain circle of outer space. Gradually, this circle expands.

  • We listen to ourselves.
  • We listen to what is happening in the audience (class).
  • We listen to what is happening in the building.
  • We listen to what is happening on the street.

Observation display

After the beginner's creative diary is filled, acting lessons are transferred to the stage. Based on his observations, the student must convey the image of the observed on the stage as accurately and interestingly as possible: his gait, gestures, behavior, facial expressions. At the same time, the teacher can place this character in non-standard situations that did not actually happen. At the same time, it will be seen how carefully the novice actor observed, how much he understood this person and was imbued with his image - his organicity in the given circumstances will depend on this.

Action

When passing the course "Acting skills" training begins with the analysis of basic concepts. So without such a thing as action, there can be no performance. The action definition contains main point any role. The main thing about this is that action is act of will. The actor on the stage is not a thoughtless mechanism that performs movements and actions because he was ordered to do so, and not a monkey who, without realizing it, simply repeats a set of actions and words. The actor first of all thinks, and every action on the stage must be comprehended and logically substantiated by him.

Acting for beginners is based on the fact that there is no action for the sake of action itself. Every action must have a goal, for the sake of achieving which it is performed. Therefore, it turns out that everything that an actor does in the image of a hero, he does consciously and of his own free will, and not just for beauty.

Any acting exercise involves the conscious action of someone on stage.

Work in the proposed circumstances

In this exercise, students are given a location: a forest, an old hospital, etc. Beginner actors need to find an excuse for who they are, how they got here, they need to see this place in their imagination to the smallest detail. The teacher then produces sounds to which the actors react depending on the proposed circumstances. Even with the help of music, an atmosphere is created - it can be dark fairy forest or light Birch Grove. And here acting for beginners has three goals. Firstly, this is a test for attentiveness (how quickly an actor reacts to changes in music or sounds), secondly, it teaches novice actors to act in given circumstances that need to be adapted for themselves, and thirdly, it teaches them to keep the atmosphere, without jumping from sadness to joy and back again.

Shadow

In the discipline "Acting" training is always complex, the basic concepts are intertwined in one exercise, they require the actor to constantly concentrate his forces.

An interesting exercise with a shadow. The first person makes some movements, justifying them with a goal (it can be any pointless action), and the second person is his “shadow” - he completely repeats each action. Of course, the first must work slowly so that the second has time to repeat. But the task of the second participant is to follow the leader very carefully and try to predict his actions. In addition, he also needs to understand what kind of action is being performed, and justify it, because the goal of a person and a shadow always coincides.

Exercises like these, which help to hone acting skills for beginners, develop a sense of shoulder - it always reminds the actor that he does not work alone, but depends on everyone, and everyone depends on him in the same way.

To become a sought-after professional actor, it’s not enough just to make your voice beautiful, graduate from a university or do acting exercises for beginners at a theater studio school. This profession is special, it implies comprehensive development personality and having many skills that no one can teach you unless you learn it yourself. In addition to the staged speech, plasticity and the ability to reincarnate, the actor must have:

natural mindfulness

developed imagination

tenacious memory (including emotional);

ability to improvise

confidence in one's strengthsman "Textbook of rhetoric"

endurance (both physical and mental)

charisma and strong communication skills

Exercise "Change"

Develops the ability for instant improvisation. The facilitator sets the conditions for what is happening on the site, explains how and under what circumstances students interact with each other. At any moment, the facilitator can shout out the word “change”, and students are required to instantly change actions, words and demeanor towards each other.

Sense of partner, interaction and trust

In acting schools, the interaction between partners is worked out very carefully and seriously. In particular, this is achieved by performing exercises to develop courage. The quality of the game depends on the ability of partners to interact, because the tone and energy of the question determine the tone and energy of the answer. To put it simply, if one actor gave a weak cue, the second actor will weakly respond to it and a chain reaction will occur that will bury all the emotional intensity of the performance in a matter of minutes. The exchange of remarks between the artists should be similar to throwing the ball in volleyball - the attacking side wants to score a goal, the defending side wants to return the serve, the intensity of passions makes the game interesting and spectacular.

Exercise "Apple"

Performed in a group even number participants. Each student imagines that he has a juicy, ripe and weighty apple in his hand. The task is to silently and imperceptibly, without words, gestures and facial expressions, to find a partner with one eye and establish contact with him - to agree that you are now partners with him. Those who didn’t succeed raise their hands at the command of the host, see who is left without a partner, and also break into pairs.

The next task is to agree with your partner which of you will throw the apple to the other. The rules are the same: no words, no facial expressions, no gestures. At the leader's command, some throw an apple, others catch it. Those who failed, raise their hands and try again.

Now half of the group has an apple in both hands, the task is to throw one of them to a partner. Attention, if you throw an apple with your left hand, then the partner must catch it with the right, and vice versa. Again, we agree among ourselves, using no means other than visual contact.

If you lack leadership qualities, are tired of your colleagues not listening to you, you want, but you are afraid of not being able to cope with leadership positions, then you need an acting studio for adults that will teach you the secrets of public speaking, develop your confidence, teach you the art of persuasion .
