Only our Grandfather Frost has a granddaughter Snegurochka and she was born in Russia. Snow Maiden is literary character. Soon after the hero Ded Moroz appeared in the life of Russians, in 1873 he had a young assistant, at first positioned as a daughter, the Snow Maiden. This happened thanks to the play by Alexander Ostrovsky "The Snow Maiden", which he created on the basis of folk tale about a girl fashioned from snow and melted by the warm rays of the sun. Later, writers and poets turned her into a granddaughter. lyrical, beautiful story many liked about the Snow Maiden. Well-known philanthropist Savva Ivanovich Mamontov wanted to put it on the home stage of the Abramtsevo circle in Moscow. The premiere took place on January 6, 1882. Costume designs for her were made by V. M. Vasnetsov (in a light sundress with a hoop or headband), and three years later famous artist makes new sketches for staging opera of the same name N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov.

After the repressions of 1927-1935, the Snow Maiden disappeared for a long time and, as a constant companion of Grandfather, she was revived only in the early 1950s thanks to the efforts of children's classics Lev Kassil and Sergei Mikhalkov, who wrote scripts for the Kremlin Christmas trees. Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden entered public life countries as obligatory attributes of the upcoming New Year. The place of her birth is disputed today by two settlements Russia: Kostroma region, where Ostrovsky wrote his famous fairy tale, and St. Petersburg, where he created his immortal opera Rimsky-Korsakov.

It's time to plunge headlong into a fairy tale and remember the old good characters- Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden! These heroes are considered one of the most important characters new year holidays without which it is impossible to imagine winter celebrations. On the eve of the New Year, both adults and children are visited by an inspirational festive mood, and in various institutions, especially educational ones, children are asked to draw Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden, but who will tell and show in detail how to do this? That is why in early December I sat down at a sheet of paper with colored pencils to show everyone how to draw Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden in stages. Let's get started!

I want to note that this lesson will help children and teenagers to draw a beautiful new year card with your own hands or come up with a creative thematic drawing!

What you need for this:

paper white color(you can use an album for drawing or a sketch book);
a simple pencil with an approximate hardness - HB;
eraser;

If we place Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden on the same sheet, we need to do this so that they do not “crash” into each other and therefore mark out their approximate outlines on the sheet, as in the example in the picture. No precision is needed here, we just need to know where our heroes will be located, whether they will go beyond the sheet, and so on.
To beautifully draw Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden in stages with a pencil, you first need to focus on one of our characters. Let's start with Grandpa: take a simple pencil and draw the shape of a hat with a head and a beard. Make a silhouette like in picture 2.
We draw the hands of Santa Claus. In this case, we are lucky - here we do not need to draw fingers and palms, but just need to repeat the shape of the mittens. We draw hands, as in the picture, as if Santa Claus will then hold a bag in his hands. Do not forget to draw fur on the sleeves and on the top of the hat.
Now comes one of the easiest parts of our process: we draw a bag behind Grandfather's back and proceed to draw the lower part of his suit.
Below we will draw the shoes of Santa Claus. In picture 5, she is drawn as if he were walking. We draw all the other details of his costume and begin to draw a face. This will be much easier for us than it seems: for this we need to draw a dividing line between the beard, nose and cheeks. By drawing this line, Grandfather's cheeks and nose will automatically appear. Draw a mouth under the nose on the beard, and draw oval and oblong eyebrows under the cap. We can draw eyes in the following way: draw ovals and dots in them (as in example 5), but it is enough for children to draw just dots. In the corners of the eyes, draw two lines leading to the temples - these will be the wrinkles that arise from a smile.
Do not forget that we are Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden together, so we move on to drawing our beauty and start from the head. We draw the shape of the face, on top - strands of hair, and even higher - a kokoshnik or cap. It all depends on what headdress you and your child wear to represent the Snow Maiden.
Now we draw a suit, we start at once from the head. Draw fur on the shoulders and sleeves, arms slightly apart. And we also make mittens according to the principle, like Grandfather's.

For face painting, take pink and orange color and sketch, barely pressing on the pencil. This way you get a flesh and natural skin tone. On the cheeks, add red or raspberry.
