The history of the popular female team of the Viagra group began on September 3, 2000. It was then that the premiere of the debut video “Attempt No. 5” took place on the air of the Ukrainian television company “Biz-TV”, which instantly flew into the top positions of the main charts. After that, the group experienced rapid ups and downs more than once, repeatedly changed its line-up, its soloists began successful solo careers and gave birth to children. But, despite this, the popularity of Viagra did not decrease.
In 1999, Ukrainian businessman and owner of the Biz-TV channel Vladimir Kostyuk, inspired by the success of the Russian "Brilliant" and Western " spice girls”, decided to launch a similar Ukrainian project. For the role music producer he called Konstantin Meladze. One of the first approved soloists was Alena Vinnitskaya, who previously worked as a host on Biz-TV. Thanks to the casting, Meladze and Kostyuk found two more girls: Marina Modina and Yulia Miroshnichenko. But in the process of working on Attempt No. 5, it was decided to leave Alena alone and freeze the project for a while, continuing to search for suitable soloists.
When Nadezhda Granovskaya appeared on the horizon, it was decided to retrain the trio into a duet, in which Vinnitskaya got the role of the leading soloist. Initially, the group was supposed to be called "Silver". There are several versions about where the name "Viagra" came from. According to one of them, VIA is a vocal and instrumental ensemble, "gra" in Ukrainian means a game. Some believe that Viagra is a derivative of the names and surnames of the vocalists (Vi-Vinnitskaya, A- Alena, Gra- Granovskaya). But the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "Viagra" is the famous drug that increases male potency. By the way, bringing out the V.I.A. "Gra" into the English-language music market, Sony Music management received a pre-trial claim from tablet manufacturers. Therefore, in the West, the group is known under the pseudonym Nu Virgos.
Initially, critics considered Viagra to be a one-hit group and predicted its short-lived fame. But the dance composition “Hug Me” following after “Attempt No. 5” further thickened the interest around the team. Girls began to be invited to interviews and concerts. By the end of 2000, their repertoire included seven songs. The band's first solo concert took place on stage ice palace Dnepropetrovsk 20 December. It was attended by 4 thousand spectators.

Alena (Olga) Vinnitskaya was born on December 27, 1974 in the capital of Ukraine. Almost immediately after graduation, she met her future husband, who at that time performed in the Seven team. Over time, together they changed the name of the group to "The Last Unicorn", where Vinnitskaya became the author of the music and words of the songs they performed.
From 1997 to 2000, Vinnitskaya successfully combined the professions of a VJ and a reporter on music TV channels and a DJ on radio stations. On Biz-TV, she hosted the Ukrainian Twenty, which was also broadcast on the Russian MTV. It was there that she met Kostyuk, who invited her to join the Viagra group. With the participation of Alena, they shot 6 clips, released debut album, starred in two musicals and recorded several non-album songs.
On January 20, 2003, the girl left the team and began solo career, performing compositions in the style of pop-rock. Among the notable works in this field, it is worth highlighting the compositions "Let's Forget Everything", which became a hit in all Ukrainian charts, and the single "Tormented Heart", which made it possible to feel the full depth of Alena's author's lyrics.
In 2004, Alena performed with the world famous group"The Cardigans" at the Sports Palace, the largest concert venue Ukraine, and released the first album "Dawn". The girl is still actively performing, recording new albums and is active in social activities.
Nadya Meikher was born in the village of Zbruchovka on April 10, 1982. From the age of 11, she attended a folk dance circle and performed at various events. After school, Nadezhda entered the faculty of choreography and musical dance at the Khmelnytsky Pedagogical School.
In 2000, the girl was cast in the Viagra group, but already in 2002 she left the team due to pregnancy. However, maternity leave did not last long, and a month after giving birth, Nadia returned to the group. The repeated departure of Nadezhda occurred in 2006. There are several versions about why the group was named that way. On the one hand, VIA is an abbreviation that stands for "Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble", and "Gra" is translated from Ukrainian as "game". On the other hand, many believe that the name is a derivative of the surnames of the vocalists, in which "VI" - the beginning of the surname "Vinnitskaya", "A" - the first letter of the name Alena, and "Gra" - respectively, the beginning of the surname of Alena's partner in group, Nadezhda Granovskaya. There is also a version that "Gra" stands for "Voice, Joy, Artistry." But the real reason was that all sorts of transcripts somehow formed the word "VIA Gra", which has the same name with pills that increase sexual potency in men, which was facilitated by the external image and sex appeal of the vocalists. In 2002, the VIA Gra group was shocked by some changes. Has begun new stage in its evolutionary development. The structure was changed - from a duet the team turned into a trio. It all started with the fact that Nadezhda Granovskaya was preparing to become a mother, respectively, on a busy touring activity, it was necessary to put an end to it for a while. In 2004, Anna Sedokova leaves the group. On an emergency basis, they are looking for a replacement for her, which is found in the person of Svetlana Loboda, but the replacement turned out to be a little unequal, despite the fact that on June 4, 2004 VIA Gra wins the Muz-TV 2004 award, a video clip for the song "Biology" is being shot . Nevertheless, Svetlana is “not accepted” by fans who immediately draw analogies between her and Anna Sedokova. 
Despite this, slight dissatisfaction with Svetlana grew and it was decided to part with her. Svetlana is currently pursuing a solo career. 
In place of Loboda they take Albina Dzhanabaeva, for a long time who worked on backing vocals with Valery Meladze and got into the group on his recommendation. And now everyone should breathe easy, but suddenly Nadya Granovskaya leaves. 2005 year. And the group is urgently looking for a replacement. In a hurry, they take Christina Kotz-Gotlieb. Of course, you should start from the very beginning - the birth of the group, which happened in 2000. On music stage something new, unusual, capable of attracting the attention of the listener with its novelty and difference from others was lacking. We needed a team capable of equally successfully winning the hearts of the most versatile public, which could surprise with something new, create positive mood and, at the same time, awakening in a person a variety of spiritual and lyrical feelings.
The idea of creating such a project came up with the future producer - Dmitry Kostyuk. The starting line-up of the group, the very one from which it all began, was two Ukrainian girls, Alena Vinnitskaya and Nadezhda Granovskaya. The history of their arrival in the group turned out to be different. Alena, at that time working for the Ukrainian television company Biz-TV, was invited by Dmitry Kostyuk himself to participate in the group. Another producer was Konstantin Meladze. It was he, together with Dmitry, who was lucky enough to open Nadezhda for the group. The starting point that persuaded him to decide to accept Nadezhda as a member was her amateur photo session.
This was followed by a casting, which Nadia brilliantly passed and the producers did not have the slightest doubt that she was needed in a pair with Alena. It remained to come up with a name for the new team. "VIA Gra" - this is how this project was named. There are several versions about why the group was named that way. On the one hand, VIA is an abbreviation that stands for "Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble", and "Gra" is translated from Ukrainian as "game". On the other hand, many believe that the name is a derivative of the surnames of the vocalists, in which "VI" - the beginning of the surname "Vinnitskaya", "A" - the first letter of the name Alena, and "Gra" - respectively, the beginning of the surname of Alena's partner in group, Nadezhda Granovskaya. There is also a version that "Gra" stands for "Voice, Joy, Artistry." But the real reason was that all sorts of transcripts somehow formed the word "VIA Gra", which has the same name with pills that increase sexual potency in men, which was facilitated by the external image and sex appeal of the vocalists. It is not known for certain how the name of the group is deciphered. Yes, it does not matter, everyone can see in the title what he likes.
So, the group was named, formed and ready to start its creative activity. The first step on the way to the current heights was the band's debut video, which marked the beginning of a triumphant march up the ladder of fame. The video was made for the song "Attempt No. 5". Its first show took place on September 3, 2000 on the Biz-TV channel. After that, interest in the group began to grow sharply, it was necessary to expand the repertoire to enter new positions. "Attempt No. 5" made a splash, immediately became a kind of "calling card" of the band, it was replicated on pirated discs, it occupied the top positions of various music charts, immediately fighting on equal terms with the hits of that time. When compiling collections of the best songs, the compilers also did not ignore the debut work of the VIA Gra group. The song "Attempt No. 5" was included in the music collections of radio "Hit FM", "Auto Hit", " Greatest Hits Biz-TV" and many others. For the video itself, "VIA Gra" became the winner of the "Golden Weight" award. For example, in 2001, on November 18, the team won the Golden Gramophone award for the same Attempt No. 5. Throughout the year 2000, the group forms its repertoire and by mid-December it includes seven songs. It's time to organize your own concerts. The debut is a performance in Dnepropetrovsk, on the stage of the local Ice Palace, which took place on December 20, 2000. The concert was attended by about four thousand spectators.
Having made a very bright debut, demonstrating part of its huge potential, in 2001 the VIA Gra group carried out more versatile activities, having everything most fans. She is invited to participate in awards, concert programs, filming in reputable media outlets mass media. The video sequence is replenished with two more clips - “I will not return” and “Bomb”.
