How to draw a mandala: step by step instructions, programs and recommendations. Energy of bone tissue transformation

The word in translation means means "circle", "disk". In spiritual traditions, a mandala is not just a circle or pattern. This is a whole model of the universe, which is harmony and reconciliation with the world.

Carl Gustav Jung was one of the first European scientists who studied mandalas very seriously. He drew his first mandala in 1916, and two years later he was drawing new mandalas in his notebook every day. He found that each of his drawings reflected him. inner life on this moment, and began to use these drawings to record his "psychic transformation". Jung concluded that the mandala method is the way to our center, to the discovery of our unique individuality.

Mandalas have become so popular that all over the world mandalas are painted, weaved, built and so on.

Note. The article was written in 2013, since then Sasha and Vasya have grown up, personal events that are mentioned in the article are long gone, but the mandalas themselves still remain interesting business for the development of creative and mathematical thinking. At the end of the article there is a link to a selection of mandalas prepared for printing in PDF. And also from the article you will learn that mandalas can not only be painted, but created from threads, geometric shapes, natural material, and they can also be made voluminous! Read to the end!

Mandala coloring pages

We bought the first coloring page with mandalas back in 2011 somehow by chance at the airport. And the children are so attached that now they ask for more and more. Recently in Spain we again bought coloring pages with mandalas (it's a pity that they are not produced in Russia). Correction: at the time of writing, they were not released, but now they are being released in large quantities.

Sasha paints mandalas very diligently! She doesn’t quit until she finishes (which, by the way, is completely out of character for her). Vasya, on the contrary, is usually so assiduous and scrupulous, he paints mandalas in parts - for several days in a row. Maybe throw unfinished, really. Especially when his hand was in plaster and he painted with his left... Now he paints without plaster. And more willingly!

In addition to coloring, we make something similar to mandalas from various mosaics and other educational materials. This is what Vasya is fond of, Sasha does not have enough patience.

We began to fold mandalas from Zaitsev's game "Ornament" when Sasha was 4 years old, and Vasya was one and a half years old ... (I will write about this in more detail below)

Vasya already then obtained voluminous mandalas! Although he also did the usual ones, of course!

And now Vasya continues the tradition of mandalas disappearing into volume. As, for example, in this mandala from Cuisinere's Sticks.

And here is another fantasy mandala from Nikitin's game "Fractions" and heaps of all sorts of pebbles, glass balls and other sparkles. Vasya loves all kinds of glitter ...

And in the middle, Vasya put a Buddha figurine. Where he got it, I don't know. But it has long been in his box with "treasures" - beads, buttons, coins and pebbles ... This work is less like a traditional mandala, in which all elements are cyclically repeated, but this is Vasya's fantasy ...

What are the benefits of mandalas?

Why color them? And why build them?

Let's figure it out.

- First, of course, developing fine motor skills. Both when painting over mandalas, and when building them. Important! If the child can not get out of the edge, do not insist! Such activities lead to neurosis, and not to the development of the child. It is better to postpone coloring and take other creativity.

- Secondly, perseverance and accuracy are trained. This is true for children 5-7 years and older. Do not seat 3-4 year olds for coloring mandalas.

- Thirdly, a sense of rhythm, harmony and a sense of order, mathematical thinking are certainly being trained. Children get to know different types symmetry (axial, central and rotary) - not in theory, but in practice, they learn the art of ornament.

By the way, any knitted napkin is also a kind of mandala! And if you don’t have a heart for building, laying out or coloring mandalas, just knit a beautiful napkin. And at the age of 6-7, start teaching your child to knit. This is no less educational activity! Although it is only suitable for the patient ...

knitted mandala

And here are the manadalas of cones and flowers! natural material was and remains a fertile material for crafts!

And here's an amazing thing! Wind mandala. Of course, the authors simply called it a wind machine. But it seems to me that this is a real mandala - in motion!

How to teach a child to fold beautiful mandalas?

Let's call the game "Beautiful plates"

Take a circle made of cardboard or a cardboard (plastic) plate. But not too small, otherwise it will not be interesting to play.
Take a few different repeating elements. Let it be the same buttons, counting sticks, Cuisiner's sticks, or any other game where there are repeating elements from which you can make an ornament.
The game "Ornament" by Zaitsev is perfect.

Put a central element in the center of the plate. And set the “rhythm” - show what elements should surround the center of the plate by laying out 2-3 elements. Well, when any regular polygon lies in the center - from a square to an octagon, you can use an asterisk. Then it will be more convenient to keep the rhythm, it will be clear how many repeating elements should be.

For example, like this (Sana is 4 years old):

Vasya (1.5 years old) is also doing well. And to him I put the middle and two parts. The rest he puts himself.

We continue - we add a couple more elements to continue the ornament.

And Sasha's pattern has also become more complicated.

And here is another pattern. Begin:

Vasya, as you can see, the pattern is simpler, there are fewer elements, Vasya makes his pattern slower. But he is two times younger than Sasha.

How older child the more difficult the tasks can be. Firstly, the ornament, as you probably noticed, can grow not only to the sides, but also at the top - we impose one element on another.
A child of 5-6 years old can immediately be given a sector of a finished ornament, laying out elements of all levels at once. And let him lay out everything else himself, he decides in what order he should do it.

And how to teach how to beautifully color mandalas?

I think you should start coloring yourself. Your example will inspire your child.

You can simply explain that the same elements are painted the same way. For some children, this explanation is enough.

But you can just give the child a printed mandala and offer to color it as he wants. At the same time, print the same one for yourself and paint over it already in compliance with the rules of the ornament. And then hang both resulting works on the wall.

The pinnacle of such studies will be self-drawing mandala, no pattern. But in order to want to draw a mandala (and this is not easy), you need to fall in love with painting over ready-made ones and spend quite a lot of time on it.

Mandala - image from secret meaning. It displays inner world of a person, is charged with his positive energy and gives harmony with the outside world.

Mandala - a sacred symbol that is revered and popular in the East. The mandala represents complex graphics. More often this figure is a square (or other figure) inscribed in a circle. In literal translation, the word "mandala" is translated as "circle", so the image most often has the shape of a circle.

Why draw a mandala? The fact is that during the creation of an image, a person plunges into meditation - “dipping” into subconscious. This is necessary in order to be able to sort out your own thoughts, understand the people around you and nature, and find harmony.

Real mandalas, of course, are significantly different from those that a person can draw. In original, mandala is drawn with sand Buddhists and Hindus. This image adorns the walls of temples and helps believers pray.

Mandala painted with sand in a Buddhist temple

No wonder they say that the mandala is "frozen prayer" because it really reflects the spiritual world of a person at the time of drawing.

If you are new to drawing a mandala, then you should not use sand, but the most common writing and drawing instruments. What is useful for drawing a mandala? You will need:

  • Colour pencils
  • Colored markers
  • Colored pens (gel, oil, ballpoint)
  • Liners (felt-tip pens with a very thin tip up to 0.1 mm)
  • Rapidographs (pens with ink vessels)
  • Paints (acrylic, oil, watercolor, gouache)

First you need to draw schematic (wireframe) image of a mandala and only then paint with different colors.

It doesn't matter what color or size your mandala drawing will be. The main thing is its colorfulness, "juiciness" of colors, their contrast and variety of details. The more detailed your image is, the more beautiful the mandala will be in the end.

It is also worth knowing that each mandala has its specific meaning. Some of them are able to attract financial well-being to a person, others happiness or harmony. The meanings of the mandala differ, in accordance with their patterns and color schemes.

Before drawing “your sacred mandala”, you should also familiarize yourself with the meanings of colors in order to correctly display the meaning of the drawing and bring yourself closer to fulfilling the desired:

  • Red - very "strong" energy color. It conveys by itself: strength, determination, action and courage. This color in the mandala speaks of the life-giving potential, the realization of the desired
  • Pink - a color that reflects human kindness, it also “gives” affection and a feeling of love
  • Yellow - a color that speaks of joy and happiness. He carries a "warm" energy. With his radiance, he heals, inspires and helps to get what you want.

  • Blue (light) - gives peace of mind nervous system human being, friendliness and understanding with others
  • Violet - a color that gives inspiration and is able to “cleanse” a person’s energy from everything negative. This color is necessary in order to, if necessary, "remove" all possible obstacles on the way to the desired
  • Brown - the color that represents the earth. The earth is an integral part of a person, which gives a person a crop, carries a person and gives him strength. Therefore, this color conveys the meaning of "practicality" and "protection"
  • Blue - the color of infinity, the color of the deep ocean and clear skies. In a sense, this color represents motherhood, which means "femininity." Blue carries the meaning of compassion, understanding and help
  • Orange - a positive color that represents cheerfulness, vitality and freedom
  • Turquoise - the color of "protection" for its owner. This color also carries the meaning of aspiration, healing and harmony.
  • Black - it is the color of darkness. In mandalas, black color is present only in the contours, but in some drawings it can take up a lot of space and then the mandala carries the meaning of “fear”, “death” and “emptiness”
  • White - the color of purity and healing, this color protects its owner from negativity and helps to think, as well as feel
  • Grey - the color of balance and balance

How to color mandalas?

There are a few simple rules important to follow:

  1. Don't treat mandalas like painting a picture. Get rid of perfectionism - you are not creating an artistic masterpiece, but meditating, expressing yourself in creativity
  2. Try to devote at least 15 minutes to drawing or coloring mandalas every day. It is regular practice that will solve your problem.
  3. Listen to the sensations of consciousness. Does it turn out completely “turn off” or the voltage does not recede? Understand what exactly prevents you from fully immersing yourself in the process - this will help identify internal problems in order to further develop them.
  4. Abstract in the process of creative meditation from extraneous thoughts. Try not to think at all - you should turn into one continuous emotion
  5. If the purpose of creating a mandala is to splash out negative emotions, then be sure to destroy the drawing. It must be burned, and the ashes scattered to the wind. In no case do not give a mandala - you will give all the negativity to a person
  6. Try to draw or color your creation symmetrically. It is the observance of symmetry that helps to achieve harmony, concentrate, relax and calm down, rest the soul completely and completely.

Even those who have never tried to meditate can easily cope with these exercises, which are more like a game familiar to each of us since childhood. Give yourself pleasure! Take a set of beautiful colored pencils, make yourself comfortable in a bright place where you feel easy and comfortable, and start creating.

Coloring these mandalas helps to calm down and access your inner energy resources. You don't have to take on everything at once. Start with the one you like best.

Mandala 1: How can I feel better?

This mandala will help you determine what you need to feel better - both emotionally and physically. Pick one color first. And, without hesitation, paint with them those parts of the mandala that you want. The most important thing in this exercise is to do what the inner voice tells you to do.

Meditate on the undercolored mandala for a few minutes. Then take other colored pencils to complete it. Do not strive to make it beautiful, do not think about the compatibility of colors, let everything happen spontaneously! When you're done, look at the mandala. And write down the three words that first come to your mind. Reflect on the meaning of these words in relation to the original question that this mandala is meant to answer. Download mandala in PDF

Mandala 2: "What color is my breath?"

We rarely think about how we breathe. And even less frequently breathing exercises. So make time for it right now! Relax, look closely at the mandala and choose a color that represents your breath. Color them in the center circle. As you do this exercise, focus on your breath.

Be aware of exactly how you breathe. Then color the rays of the mandala one by one. For this, take one or those pencils that you think will help “activate” breathing: make it slower, deeper, calmer. Now that you have completed coloring this mandala, you have come into contact with the deep energy of life that lives within you. Use it! Download mandala in PDF

Mandala 3: "How to find yourself?"

Choose the pencil you like best and color in the center circle. Then use a different color to highlight the part of the mandala that you like best. Choose it intuitively! Pass the pencil along the rays of the star located in this part, as if you were wandering through a maze.

Look at the resulting colored thread. And ask yourself: “What does this path remind me of?” Write down three words, phrases, or sentences that come to mind to describe your journey. Ponder over them for a few minutes. Download mandala in PDF

Mandala 4: "What energy state am I in today?"

Let the colors speak to you! Trust your intuition, color this mandala the way you want. The colors you choose will help determine the state of your energy. Look at the colored picture and write down three keywords that come to your mind.

For five minutes, meditate on their meaning in relation to the question, “What energetic state am I in?” Please note that an excess of warm colors dissipates energy, cold colors paralyze it. And do not forget that the mandala reflects your state at the moment. Tomorrow it could be completely different.

Mandala 5: "What are my three best features?"

This beautiful mandala will help you identify what you like best about yourself. Think about what three traits make you happy? Write them below the mandala (for example, gratitude, honesty, kindness, creativity…) Choose your three favorite colors so that each symbolizes one of these qualities, and color the mandala.

When the drawing is finished, examine it carefully. Look at each color that embodies one of your favorite qualities separately. Try to figure out how you feel about these qualities.

Mandala 6: "Where can I find peace within myself?"

Choose a color that symbolizes inner peace for you. Use it to color all the central circles of complex shapes, some of which are intertwined. After that, take other pencils to fill in the outer circles of these circles one by one. Don't think, follow the inspiration.

When finished, look at the mandala. Try to remember three moments when you felt surprisingly calm during the difficult moments of coloring these intricate interlaced shapes. Write down those memories.

Mandala 7: "What prevents the free flow of my energy?"

Color this mandala, moving from the center, ask yourself the question: “What is preventing the smooth circulation of my energy?” When you have finished coloring the mandala, look at it for a few minutes. Do it calmly and serenely. Let go of your mind, let thoughts come and go like clouds in the sky.

Now look, what colors did you use - cold (green, blue, purple) or warm (red, orange, yellow)? The former "close" the energy channels, the latter "open" them. Take a close look at where you've placed these colors. Try to remember what images and emotions you had in those moments when you used pencils of different colors. And write down what you remember.

Mandala 8: "How to increase your energy?"

Starting with the central "flower" of this mandala, meticulously color its petals using three colors that appeal to you. For other "colors," change the pencils to those that you think will complement and enhance the first three colors. After that, choose a different color for the center of the flowers.

Breathe slowly, look at your drawing and write down three expressions that suddenly come to mind. Meditate on them in a calm environment.

Mandala 9: "How to balance emotions?"

Identify three negative emotions that particularly interfere with you (for example, fear, anger, envy…). List them under the mandala. Then choose three colors that will symbolize them. Following your intuition, paint the leaves in these colors. Take other pencils and use them to color the stems and background of the mandala. Relax, close your eyes for a minute. Then look at your drawing. Describe what you feel under the mandala.

Mandala 10: "I activate and harmonize my energy"

Look at this mandala for a couple of minutes. Then start coloring it from the central circle, choosing a pencil of your favorite color for this. Then take seven pencils of all colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). Listening only to your feelings, paint each of the human figures with one of these colors.

In the final, you can paint the borders of the mandala with any color you like or the one that, in your opinion, will complement the drawing as harmoniously as possible. This exercise activates and harmonizes energy. Write down how you feel after you complete the drawing.
