What to read to children 3 4 years. Here, in front of me on a chair

12.03.2019

Your child loves books, what can be read to a child aged 3-4? This question is often asked by parents of little peanuts. That is why I decided to compile a useful list of children's books that are suitable for toddlers of this age. Verified by personal experience.

We all remember from childhood how mothers, fathers, as well as grandparents read books to us about fairytale heroes about fun adventures. My children also love books, so I regularly buy something new in bookstores. Of course, each peanut has its own preferences, but we can generalize a bit. So what book to buy for a three-year-old baby, I will talk about this below.

For complete picture I compiled a list of the best books that my children aged 3-4 loved very much.

Tales for children 3-4 years old Korney Chukovsky

It is with this wonderful author that I decided to start my list. I love the works of this writer since childhood, and I remember many of them by heart. So my children liked the heroes amazing fairy tales in verse. Dr. Aibolit, Moidodyr, Fedor's grandmother and other characters teach children to do only good deeds, to do the right thing.

Here are the most popular ones with my kids:

  • Moidodyr;
  • cockroach;
  • Fly Tsokotukha;
  • Fedorino grief;
  • Aibolit;
  • Telephone;
  • Barmaley;
  • Confusion and others.

We all grew up on Russian fairy tales about Kolobok or about the turnip. What could be better than folk art proven over the years. So my children at the age of 3 already quoted famous fairy tales could tell the stories of the characters from the pictures. My daughter still loves Teremok, Hen Ryaba, knows them by heart . Fairy tales train children's memory well, try to remember who is following whom.

The magnificent stories of the main characters of these fairy tales, which have come to us since Soviet times, are simply mesmerizing. Children enjoy listening to adventures little boy uncle Fyodor and about the fabulous Cheburashka. Based on these books, a series of cartoons was shot, the kids have something to compare with, and there is something to think about.

It was only thanks to this book that my son learned to count to ten at the age of 3. The book is very interesting and funny, while reading it, you can not only learn to count up to 10, but at the same time remember many pets. Wonderful piece for kids.

In encyclopedias for children, the most basic points of teaching toddlers are collected. The alphabet, numbers, counting, logic exercises, descriptions of animals and plants, poems and much more are available in the collection for toddlers. You can buy everything separately, but my kids were interested in viewing colorful illustrations and each time to read to choose something new.

The pleasant syllable of the wonderful Russian poet A.S. Pushkin will not leave little children indifferent. Fairy tales are easy to read and listen to, the stories of fairy tale characters are interesting. Here are our favorite pieces:

  • The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish
  • The Tale of the Golden Cockerel

Rudyard Kipling Animal Tales

Interesting adventures of animals are described in this book. The author jokingly tells the child how the first armadillos appeared, how the baby elephant got a long nose, or how the cat walked wherever he liked. Even the names of fairy tales themselves cannot but attract parents to read these stories.

Zdenek Miler, Eduard Petishka, Gana Doskochilova Mole Stories for Young Children

Funny stories about a mole are based on Czech cartoons by Zdeněk Miler. Watching a cartoon is fun, but reading a book is even more interesting. Our Big Book includes the following stories:

  • Mole and panties
  • Mole and TV
  • Mole and car
  • Mole and rocket

Children love everything, there is no one better or worse. The stories are instructive, captivating and interesting: do business instead of watching TV all day long, if you want nice panties, work hard.

Separately, I would like to single out fairy tales from Soviet cartoons. Favorite characters of my childhood are still popular among our kids aged 3-4 years. Stories about the cat Leopold or about the cunning crow will not go unnoticed. Well, if the book is also equipped with sound buttons, reading will be much more fun.

Stories and tales from modern cartoons

Heroes of popular cartoons of the 21st century are especially loved by all the kids. Almost every child watches cartoons about Fixies, Pepa pig, paw patrol and others. Well, if they are also mentioned in books, it is twice as interesting. My daughter loves books, magazines related to famous characters. And in modern books you can also find some kind of educational game or rebus, very informative.

We are growing, and books are growing with us ... It seems that so recently we “read” books, just looking at pictures and flipping back and forth, in chaotic order. And today we are already reading long stories, regularly going to the library and looking forward to a new book in order to get acquainted with the beautiful and such different heroes or meet old beloved friends again.

How to be an active reader and not go broke?

Before proceeding directly to the list of books, I want to make a small lyrical digression on how to expand your literary assortment at the lowest cost.

As I said, closer to the 4th years we enrolled in the library– and constantly take there new books. If I come across not very interesting ones, I sigh with relief (“it’s good that they didn’t buy”), and if something really valuable comes across that I want to read again and again, then I get such books in my home collection so that they always have at hand.

The second way is use sales, coupons, promotions which are now quite common. I prefer to buy books via the Internet (it is convenient both in terms of choice and price) - so I try to keep track of various promotions that are held in my favorite stores. There are also online savings platforms that collect numerous promotions and offers. I personally use the Cuponation service - it offers free promotional codes for discounts in various stores, including the Labyrinth bookstore known to many mothers. If you enter the Labyrinth secret word when placing an order, you can save 15% on your purchase. I often participate in sales on Ozone. In general, whoever seeks will always find. And although books are not cheap now, this is not a reason to deny yourself the pleasure. After all, books are not only the joy of immersion in fascinating story, but also important factor development and education of the child. For example, I am very glad that we have a big reader (with Roma - we'll see) - and I see that he learned a lot thanks to books.

And finally, the third way - the good old book exchange with friends and acquaintances.

Our hit parade

Starting the list of favorite books for 3-4 years old, I want to recall those books that smoothly flowed from the age of 1.5-2 years old - these are books for looking at, or wimmelbuchs. There are many of these now being published. The essence of this genre is in the variety of pictures, the abundance of curious details - so that each book can be watched and watched hundreds and thousands of times. And even in a well-known book, there are sometimes new details that have not been noticed before. In this genre, our favorites are books Rotraut by Suzanne Berner (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn and night book) and books Richard Scarry (“The Book of Cars”, “City of Good Deeds”, “From Morning to Night in the City of Good Deeds”).

With that, I say goodbye and look forward to your comments.

Your Olga Bardina

Yulsen, 24.02.05 22:26

Girls, what do you read to kids at this age?
I haven’t bought anything for a long time ... And for some reason it seems to me that we have everything and it’s still relevant - Marshak, Chukovsky, Usachyov, Barto (I like her, no matter what), Tokmakova, Uspensky, Mikhalkov, Mayakovsky. Russian and foreign fairy tales ... In the sense that such books as Dunno for 3 years old are still too early .. Or not? ...

What else can you advise.

Catherine, 24.02.05 23:02

Julia, from the age of three we read Vika at night - the Golden Key, or the Adventures of Pinocchio "(A. Tolstoy), Winnie the Pooh and everything-everything (A. Milne, B. Zakhoder), Mowgli (R. Kipling), Kid and Carlson (A. Lindgren), fairy tales and stories of Suteev .... well, fairy tales of the peoples of the world, of course.
read in small portions - she liked it like (something more, something less)
..but she still hasn’t read Dunno - she needs to catch up

You can try to give any books - and it will be clear - they are interesting to her or else let them wait ... children are different for everyone, and they have different tastes

Yulsen, 25.02.05 01:03

Yes, Kat, I forgot to mention Suteev, I also read it to Lisa, she loves it ... I'll have to try Carlson, Pinocchio and Winnie the Pooh ...

Murochka, 25.02.05 09:44

Julia, Winnie the Pooh is our favorite book from the age of 2, oh, how have you not read it yet. You can buy different ones, the simplest ones are a retelling of our cartoons (2 stories about honey and a rabbit hole), a full version, a translation of the entire Milnovskaya book, there are more words and stories. Recently, a good series of Disney books came out, unfortunately I don’t remember the publisher, there for our age you can see Winnie the Pooh and Tales for the Little ones, sort of like a retelling of stories, but not clumsily written. See if you can find one.
More recently, we bought a book about a mole, maybe you remember such a cartoon without words, we’re reading it right now, big pictures, the text seems to be a bit, but not two sentences. In this series, there is also an injunction of Rex and Lelik, Bolik, I want to buy them now.
We also have a favorite book about rules traffic. She is in verse, the child is already all about sidewalks, pedestrians, etc. learned.

I won’t say more offhand, I often buy new books, since my child has such a trait that we read for a while, then we get bored of it and we don’t return to these books anymore.

Leila, 25.02.05 21:53

I read to Ruslan all the same as Catherine we still love Chukovsky, Marshak, Blaginin, Uspensky. IN Lately before going to bed we read Tales of the peoples of the world. And today Ruslan brought Blok’s poems, I tell him, you’re not interested in listening to this, he really wanted me to read this particular volume to him and we still read a few poems

Yulsen, 25.02.05 23:18

Murochka, well, they didn’t read it, because I myself read it at school age for the first time, like Pinocchio Tolstoy, and Nosov’s books. Although I understand that everything has shifted right now, and you can safely start reading this same Winnie the Pooh right now. I want to go to the bookstore tomorrow, buy something for her ... I frankly do not like Disney fairy tales, I will not read them to her. If she wants to, then let her read it herself on someone’s thread, but I don’t like all this very much ... Fairy tales by Andersen, Perrault, etc. adapted for children. we have, all this is a passed stage, and to be honest, I regret that I read them to her ... It would be better later to read them in the original version ...
I tried to read Pushkin about six months ago, it didn't work. In addition to the entry of the famous in "Ruslan and Lyudmila" (Green oak near the seashore), the child did not perceive anything.

Darling, 25.02.05 23:32

When we came to visit my grandmother, she read to Yaska "The Adventures of Pinocchio" in the full version from a book without pictures. Two chapters before going to bed is five pages of bare text. And every time the child asked to read a "torn book". He was then two and a half.

And now he "fell ill" with pirates, so I'm seriously thinking of reading Stevenson's "Treasure Island" to him in the same mode .... Well, if he doesn't understand something, I'll explain ...

Nelumbo nelumbo, 28.02.05 02:32

I was read "Robinson Crusoe" at the age of 4 - not because I was engaged in "early development", but just like that. I liked it. You can start “feeding” any classic for youth to a child from infancy - then re-read it if you want. You can also read Darella, Bianki, Prishvin, Tolstoy short stories or even pick out excerpts from larger works.

Among the children's books, "our dad" found an anthology of sorted (morning-afternoon-evening; spring-summer-autumn) excerpts from all sorts of classics with descriptions of the weather, landscapes - a guide for schoolchildren to write sleeping compositions about the seasons and so on. I always missed these descriptions in books. And then the child wanted me to read to her. It turned out that she liked it, she asked for more. Perhaps because I tried to read such "boring texts" as expressively as possible, "howl along with the blizzard" - that's what the child liked.

cherishing, 03.03.05 01:19

Suteev and "The Big Book of Songs for Children" - hit of the season
More Snow Queen, Dunno, Pushkin

MarinaS, 03.03.05 06:26

And now he "fell ill" with pirates, so I'm seriously thinking of reading Stevenson's "Treasure Island" to him in the same mode .... Well, if he doesn't understand something, I'll explain ...

There is nothing worse - to explain

it’s better to read without interruption and hope that there is something useful in the resulting vinaigrette, and translating into an “understandable language” is terribly tedious

Nelumbo nelumbo, 03.03.05 07:41

MarinaS without explaining, you risk getting complete nonsense in a bright future too. I don't know what languages you read to your baby, but in your (and our) multilingual environment, you need to delve into every word. If the child builds logical connections incorrectly, grammar errors will join this (there will be cases when you cannot say for sure where the grammar of the native or native language resists, and where the child’s own logic is broken), and errors at the dictionary level (all the nuances when which of the synonyms is used) - that's when it will be nonsense.
If you are ready to climb the wall from questions, ask your husband or one of the household members and friends to answer children's questions so that the child has a clear idea of \u200b\u200bthe subject, and you do not spoil your nerves and do not look like a "mother who does not understand the child."

Katya K, 03.03.05 07:57

Our Sashuna is 3.5, she loves the Wizard of the Emerald City (Wolves), and all of his following books from this series: Oorfene Deuce and his wooden soldiers, the Fiery Marrano God, Seven underground kings, etc. At first we watched all these cartoons, watched for about 3 months, starting somewhere from the age of 2.5, then we started reading books, she likes it so much that it is with the help of these books that Sashunya teaches to read, really , these books themselves are in our gift editions, and there is a rather large font.
We also read many other books - The Snow Queen, Winnie the Pooh, Pinocchio, Carlson, we love them, but our main love is Ellie, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and other heroes.

Solange, 03.03.05 10:02

Our Sashuna is 3.5, she loves the Wizard of Oz (Wolves),
Wow! I remember I'm Volkova primary school read.

Lenka22, 03.03.05 12:16

There is a good site with a whole section for kids, where all the books are divided by topic and by age. I always find something there...
http://www.skazka.com.ru/baby.htm
I advise those who are too lazy to run around libraries!

MarinaS, 03.03.05 15:43

it's not a misunderstanding of words, but a misunderstanding of situations in outdated psychology - in order to explain "about pirates" I had to take a whole series of books from the library, but because I teach children slightly different behavior, then ..., well, of course, words, long descriptions and philosophizing - that's all Winnie the Pooh advises, and I myself fall asleep over him

Darling, 03.03.05 18:44

worse than that - explain
I also have a habit - to ask the child, what did he understand - in the end it turns out that he did not understand anything, a discussion filled with " deep meaning", or rather complete nonsense
it’s better to read without interruption and hope that there is something useful in the resulting vinaigrette, and translating into an “understandable language” is terribly tedious

This is some kind of strange approach ... I don’t need to ask the child to understand what exactly he understood and what not ... we just clarify the details along the way and that’s it

Well, Winnie the Pooh - some fall asleep, while others adore since childhood .... so what?
We have a very beautiful book about Winnie the Pooh, it’s even great to just look at it ..... and there are poems there

Nelumbo nelumbo, 03.03.05 21:39

It's not a misunderstanding of words, but a misunderstanding of situations in outdated psychology - in order to explain "about pirates" I had to take a whole series of books from the library, but because I teach children slightly different behavior
The fact that you borrow books from the library is great, not all parents do this! (I love the libraries here so much!) But to think that Stevenson will teach children anti-social behavior is too much.
I recently borrowed a book from the library with a title like Ten Tips for Effective Families - leave alone the idea of "effective families" - I quote only a survey of secondary school teachers in 1950 and 1990: "what do you think main problem in ward classes?" In 1950, these were: petty theft, cheating, arguing with teachers, chatter in the classroom. 1990: firearms, rape, teenage pregnancy ... classroom and the unobtrusive attention of social workers. Not I want to say that by abandoning the theme of pirates in literature, we got an explosion of crime among young people. These things are not related to each other. It is simply naive to believe that when children become teenagers, for the sake of the notorious "socialization", they will not watch and read what their peers from less "choosy" families read, and will not fall under the influence of sloppy films about bandits and prostitutes, which are also on There's plenty of filming in the West. You might think that from the mass media children do not learn about wars, terrorist attacks, maniacs? Wouldn't it be better to "get sick" with pirates at a tender age, when parents (the main authority) can explain everything, give their moral assessment?

MarinaS, 03.03.05 22:23

The fact that you borrow books from the library is great, not all parents do this! (I love the libraries here so much!) But to think that Stevenson will teach children anti-social behavior is too much.

This is not the point - children simply do not understand what is at stake
I don’t know how to explain this to you - the only thing that comes to mind, but it’s probably hard to imagine: suppose you have lived in Japan all your life and they tell you about how people live in Russia - I assure you, you won’t understand what it means yet don't "visit"

In addition, we are not talking about teenagers here, but about three to five year olds - will you read to them about teenage pregnancy and drugs? although I sincerely admit the fact that my children do not watch the news - not because I somehow specifically limit them - I do not watch it myself

LIK, 04.03.05 15:07

Nelumbo nelumbo, 05.03.05 06:29

besides, we are not talking about teenagers here, but about three to five year olds - will you read to them about teenage pregnancy and drugs?
Maybe I'm not writing clearly, but where do such conclusions come from?! I'm just saying: well, we will abandon the classical works, which describe things that are unacceptable from the point of view of modernity - and what, from this will children become more humane and more obedient when they grow up? Let them not. Evil will leave literature - it will not leave life. On the contrary, it will be reborn even uglier.
I will not read to my daughter about teenage pregnancy and drugs at the age of 4 - I read and translate the book Made with Love to her, because she already picked up in the garden and announced to me that the penguin soft toy is, literally, "my baby, was born from pussy". A year and a half ago, in Europe, they stumbled upon drug addicts, who were injecting themselves right on the embankment of one of the, for sure, famous rivers - they walked there, simply not knowing that "decent people" do not go along this embankment. I also took out syringes from our post-Soviet sandboxes with wild eyes, the little one saw this and probably remembered it. So the first bells have already rang out in our cozy little world of plush hares. Nobody asked me if I want it. Nobody wants this. If I still forget about the classics in the general sewer, excuse me, then what kind of beggar will my child grow up ?! I don’t even like zoos, and even more so I consider hunting a mockery of nature - so I shouldn’t read to my child all those works that mention hunting: Tolstoy, Dufo, Prishvin?
In general, of course, I can hardly imagine that such small children can listen to such books, and even with interest.
Maybe we turned down a very "abstruse", but I, as I stuff "abstruse", do not hesitate to take books for younger age if the little one likes them, or I notice that she doesn’t know how to express some things correctly - they took a series about smell-touch, an album by Tana Hoban about geometric shapes, etc. If I don’t do this, then there is a very small chance that someone else will give my daughter all these books - both simple and complex.

Lenusik, 14.04.05 06:33

Maybe we turned it down very “abstrusely”, but I, as I stuff “abstruse”, do not hesitate to take books for younger children if they like them

Another thing is that Max is not very fond of many "small" things. For example, Suteev was very fond of in his time, and now he literally knows him by heart. Word by word. The same story with Marshak and Chukovsky, as well as Russian folk tales (except for the big ones, such as the frog princess). In general, he began to somehow relate very evenly to poetry.

Lenusik, 19.04.05 06:40

Grandmother bought a book by Vasily Livanov "Santa Claus and Summer". There are many more stories out there. Max really liked it. But not all. About Santa Claus is just a hit.
And I have a question: is this the same Livanov who is Sherlock Holmes? The picture is very similar. But I didn't know he was also a children's writer.

Darling, 19.04.05 10:15

In fact, he wrote the script for "The Bremen Town Musicians", and for other cartoons too ... So, apparently, he is the most ....

Irina, 19.04.05 15:06

L. Tolstoy has good fairy tales and stories for children.
More Oster: "Gotcha, who bit", "He got", "A garland of babies", "How the Gosling got lost"

Irina, 02.05.05 08:44

Irina, 16.05.05 18:45

I am glad that I bought "Pinocchio" with magnificent illustrations by Leonid Vladimirsky publishing house Ast-Astrel. More "Dwarf Gnomych and Raisin" by Agnet Balint

Irina, 16.05.05 18:47

and also "Miracles in the Garden" by Margarita Staraste. Like the child. Ruzhena, thank you

Lenusik, 16.05.05 20:02

"About the little pig Plyukh" I. Rumyantsev, I. Ballod. We've been doing quite well since last year.

Daisy, 19.05.05 19:11

My plans for buying books (what interested his son in filmstrips or a brief retelling):
1. Little Baba Yaga.

Completely at random, I bought a collection of NepomnyuKogo, a German storyteller, there are 3 collections of fairy tales: About the Little Baba Yaga, about the Little Ghost and about the Little Goblin, or something, I don’t remember exactly, they haven’t reached there yet.
Wonderful tales! Arishka VERY likes!
Another one of the latest hits is Pro Pencil and Samodelkin. Nothing superfluous, just for this age.
Nosov can also selectively read for 3-4-year-olds, for example, "Cucumbers", "Patch" - very instructive!
But the "Business of Crocodile Gena", about which they wrote above ... sad. Dad bought us a thick collection "About Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka", so we got halfway, everything was fine, and then this very business went on - bullshit.

Lenusik, 19.05.05 23:56

Daisy, thanks for the advice. And then I looked at a book about a pencil and homemade, but did not dare. We still have a lot of excess accumulated.
But Nosov Why selectively? All his stories are so interesting and instructive. Our first one at about 2.4 was dreamers. He listened with his mouth open. Well, here is my mother's merit. I played everything colorfully in the roles.

Daisy, 20.05.05 15:44

Lenusik, some stories from Nosov are still difficult to understand for a 3-year-old. Although, of course, children are different. I myself feel what things Arishka will do, and what she will not quite understand yet.
If there is a bunch of other literature just for this age, then I save part of Nosov for later.

Lenusik, 20.05.05 17:42

Well, yes, there is a lot of literature, but somehow Nosov is in favor with us: now we are reading Dunno and his friends. That's why I recommend it. But your truth is: all children are different. And we also love a series of stories about Misha and Kolya: Mishka's porridge, Bengal lights, Druzhok, Telephone (this is generally my favorite), etc.
And so, despite the huge number of books in general, and in our country in particular, the question "What to read" still often arises.

Darling, 20.05.05 17:58

Since the section is still "from 3 to 7" - girls, tell me, at what age would you start reading the myths of Ancient Greece? With my mother's comments and explanation, of course, maybe even in parallel with watching Soviet cartoons...

And then I have such a tempting little book, my hands are reaching out, but it seems to me that for ours now it is too magical, with all sorts of miracles, their transformations, and the plots are ornate ......

Lenusik, 21.05.05 11:42

Darling, I'm a wrong mom (in the sense that I don't follow the rules very well), so my advice may not come in handy.
I always focus on Max. If he likes it, we read it, if he doesn't, then he doesn't. At one time, he was very carried away by all evil spirits: Baba Yaga did not leave the tongue. Grandmother gave him a book about mythological heroes. Something like an encyclopedia, where about everyone mythological heroes the world is told. Well, each one is drawn. At the very least, I adapted the text for him. He looked at this disgrace for several days and forgot safely. I also already thought about the myths of Ancient Greece, but because I do not have such a book, so far only plans for the future. But you can still try.

Daisy, 21.05.05 20:15

Nelumbo nelumbo, 21.05.05 21:07

At the age of four, my father read to me (adapting, as I understand it) that episode from the Odyssey, when Odysseus sailed past the sirens,
he covered the ears of his companions with wax, and ordered himself to be tied to the mast, and
do not plug your ears so that you can sit in a chair - that is, sorry, and siren
listen, and together with them not to plunge into Oblivion And also that episode when
Circe turned them into pigs - and added morality there, as he did
knows how to do artistically, that, they say, it’s not clear what to drink
it is not clear with whom. The edition of the Odyssey was pre-war, from his own
childhood, a book that my late grandmother still carried with her in
war.

Simha Nahes, 02.06.05 21:35

girls, does anyone read Gianni Rodari to the kids?!
or do you not accept it because of ideological considerations?!)) I recently remembered this author, forgotten by me, but once beloved. I first read a couple of poems to my son - What do crafts smell like, Terza, Seconda, Prima, and then read with him Planet Christmas trees And Journey of the Blue Arrow. BABY IS EXCITED!! and I really enjoyed reading it. it seemed to me that there was nothing so terribly ideological there, they branded the writer in vain. a lot of good, good ideas. how do you read it?

Lenusik, 02.06.05 23:30

Read Chippolino. As for Planet of the Christmas Trees and Blue Arrow's Journey, thanks for the idea. Oh, I can't remember all the books.

Anuta, 03.06.05 14:41

My daughter really liked "Little Baba Yaga". In my favorites, "Doctor Aibolit" (in prose), "Pinocchio", a series of books about Funtik the pig, all kinds of fairy tales about princesses and various fairy girls in general (Cinderella, Thumbelina, sleeping beauty), fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, I really liked a book of some Soviet writers from Ukraine, apparently, because the action takes place there in Kyiv "Katrusya is already big" - there is about a girl about the same age as Olya, I read to her skipping all the ideological moments about the pioneers, Komsomol members, communists and damned bourgeois. Now we are reading "Three stories about the Kid and Carlson", listens with interest. They read books from the series about Prostokvashino and Domovenka Kuzka, but here cartoons are in the first place, and in Kuzka he loves the girl Natasha most of all.

Lenusik, 16.06.05 13:12

And I’m just upset here: finally it came to Winnie_the Pooh. And I specifically bought a large colorful book. And as I read it, I feel something is missing. I got my old black-and-white one - it’s true: 8 chapters are missing. No, well, how is it possible: and it’s not written anywhere on the book that selected chapters and so on. They just printed half a book, that's all. Is it really necessary now to go to the bookstore with the original source, so that they don’t cheat and slip a short retelling or an abridged version. The same story with Chippolino: we have some kind of scanty, albeit bright.
I'm already silent about Grimm, Andersen, etc. You buy the Snow Queen, for example. The author is correct, and all that. And it turns out that this is some kind of brief retelling.

bistrinka, 23.06.05 23:05

Mamin-Sibiryak has wonderful Alyonushka Tales. He loves fields. Nosov started, so far only the story "Shurik at Grandpa's".

Alyonushka's fairy tales - super
Zhitkov likes "what I saw".
about Prostokvashino - my grandmother bought something from us, she reads something to Katya, but I don’t like acid rain in Prostokvashino, nor Gena the crocodile in the army

Lenusik, 26.06.05 17:44

bistrinka, I have written here more than once about my epic with Zhitkov. And what is your book? Where did you buy. I full version did not find it.

bistrinka, 26.06.05 21:50

Lenusik I'm also looking for the full version. and so - small books like favorites. but I really want the full version.

Irina, 27.06.05 04:07

Bianki also - "Forest cubs", "Mouse Peak", "Teremok", "How the Ant hurried home"

Lenusik, 27.06.05 14:54

bistrinka, we also have separate chapters in a book. And so I downloaded the full version from the Internet and printed it out. We read, but of course, without pictures, he was not very interested. But they mastered everything. A cool thing, although there are a lot of pioneers about collective farms, state farms,

Irina, 21.07.05 15:53

very good fairy tales from Sergey Kozlov: Hedgehog in the fog, Shake, hello, In the sweet carrot forest, Amazing barrel, sun bunny Like a lion cub and a turtle sang a song

bistrinka, 22.07.05 02:50

I accidentally remembered a fairy tale that I simply adored as a child. found here in in electronic format. I will print now.
fox adventure in the air
there is still about him at sea and the search engine gave out new adventures, but I haven’t watched them yet

Irina, 18.08.05 15:06

people, I really, really advise everyone to A. Shibaev's books with poems about the Russian language, words, grammar. I found a book of 82 years of publication with my mother. That was my favorite! "Friends hold hands." In general, for everyone who speaks Russian and for those who want to teach their child the correct Russian, I highly recommend it. I saw it was re-released recently

Foil, 21.08.05 19:32

A series of books about brownie Kuzya (G. Alexandrova) and about Pencil and Samodelkin (V. Druzhkov and Yu. Postnikov), Dunno (N. Nosov).

Irina, 29.08.05 19:05

Darling
Alena, have you already read the myths of Ancient Greece? I think what to do with the gods there. Now we are reading from the Fields "Amazing Journeys of a Little Hedgehog", written by the monk Lazar. (What illustrations are there! a miracle!). The theme of the Lord is quite clear there. And then suddenly some gods will not be, the child, of course, will digest it as it should, most likely. Moreover, we will read the myths later. but still, if questions are asked, what to say, I don’t know

Lenusik, 30.08.05 10:34

Grandma gave us bible stories". And you know it didn't go somehow. It's a pity. But there really is a lot of things that are difficult for a child to learn or understand.
And I bought Bianchi myself. Irina, Thank you. Although I bought it after Max saw a cartoon about Peak the Mouse.
We read, and I Yulsen remembered: my Lisa will definitely not listen to about some evil wooden soldiers. About nature and animals to my personal child - the very thing.
It seems to be about nature and about animals, but everything is described so realistically that where is Volkov with his evil soldiers. Max likes it, but I myself have a chill on my skin

Irina, 30.08.05 14:07

Yeah, Bible stories are still early. I once created a theme in Early Development about the first acquaintance with Christianity. They wrote very well about all the children's Bibles.

And Bianchi is quite a savage writer.

rosebud, 31.08.05 04:34

Simha Nahes,

Christmas Tree Planet and the Blue Arrow Journey.

I adored him!!! did you buy books here?

I love Zhitkov too!

Darling, 31.08.05 13:45

We have postponed the Greek myths for the time being. Those. I postponed reading until better times, and take this book, look at the pictures - I answer questions. Medusa-Gorgon especially impressed him - she was killed! I asked a hundred times how and why.
We finally got to the Pushkin Museum (which is the Pushkin Museum) - that's where Athena sunk into the child's soul! (although he ran away from there with the words "never again, for nothing!") Firstly, there are a lot of Athens - that's good, and secondly - everything is like a knight: a helmet, a shield - in short, what you need. By the way, at home, in a free retelling of his impressions to dad, he boldly called her a sorceress. We thought and agreed - of course the Greek gods, they are more like wizards than gods.

Rosalia, 31.08.05 13:48

My advice - do not get carried away with newfangled books for children! New authors are chasing originality and circulation, often to the detriment of content that does not reflect normal human relationships. It is important for a child to learn how to communicate with people NORMALLY, to comprehend what kindness and mutual assistance are. Don't make SKELETONS your child's heroes! I recommend starting reading with the following books:
Recommended books for children
Review of magazines for children

Irina, 31.08.05 14:10

Don’t worry, those who don’t make skeletons as heroes just gathered here, and I would sift the list of books at your link well

Frolova, 31.08.05 16:23

Irina, why is Bianchi a life-threatening writer? As a child, I remember reading, and I didn’t experience any negative emotions ...

Nelumbo nelumbo, 02.09.05 02:11

Darling, I also agree with presenting the ancient Greek gods as wizards. But I read small about the Chinese Monkey King. He is Sun Wukong. Magician, cunning, positive, but conceited hooligan. trickster, in a word. The character, as for me, is prettier than any Spiderman. There is an episode about how the Monkey King finally became hooligan and got everyone with his pride, and he was sent to the Buddha to influence the monkey. The Buddha showed Sun Wukong that no matter how he demonstrated his fantastic abilities, he was everywhere - in the hand of the Buddha. (After that, the Monkey King trembled and promised to be good) I read it without any comments, there were still illustrations above the roof - a mixture of Chinese New Year's lubok and Buddhist icons. Nothing, the child accepted it without further questions, where it placed the Buddha, I don't know. Now he fantasizes about heavenly feasts - they are arranged by heavenly maidens. Naturally, she is attracted to all female images - from Cinderella to the Mouse-Bride (also a Chinese fairy tale).

I also discovered the fantasy "Chronicles of Narnia" by C. S. Lewis - here in the libraries there is a retelling for children with large illustrations in the spirit of socialist realism. There are fauns, and talking beavers, and Santa Claus aka Father Christmas. The child liked Lev Aslan, she agreed to watch the lion in the zoo only under the pretext that Aslan was not dangerous in the book. I didn't know about these works at all. My husband heard - he was surprised how I read this to a child - this is a block, not a book. And he admitted that as a student he took this from a friend to read. As for me, this is children's literature, for people over 14 it is excusable to read this only immediately after the fall of the iron curtain.

The woodcutter Zerbino - we have an audio fairy tale, it’s okay, she needs to put it on, she doesn’t really understand the line with the Minister, but since there is a princess in the fairy tale, the fairy tale goes with a bang.

Lenusik, 02.09.05 11:41

Irina, why is Bianchi a life-threatening writer? As a child, I remember reading, and I didn’t experience any negative emotions ...

Can I answer, since Irina is silent. The fact is that Bianchi writes about nature very realistically. This is great, since the works are almost scientific, albeit literary. For example, about the mouse Peak. The life of a vole mouse is described remarkably, no need to take an encyclopedia. But in nature there is a lot of cruel with the so-called. people, albeit completely natural. For example, the scenes where "the frog's legs disappeared into the snake's mouth" or where the owl threw Peak into its hollow on the corpses of other mice are her reserves. My son, by the way, also does not experience any negative emotions. Firstly, because it is described as something natural, and secondly, because I do not focus on it. Children, they are much easier to look at such things than we think. That is why I am not afraid to read either about the evil soldiers, or about the "cruelty" of nature. And solid "bunnies - pussies, mice" in a sugary-pink wrapper is also not good. IMHO.
I finally bought a book about the Moomin Trolls. My opinion is too early. No, we read quite a lot, but I can see that Max is getting tired of such long descriptions and almost no pictures. But I liked it SO much. At least drop all adult books and sit down with Tove Janson. For some reason this book didn't cross my mind when I was a kid.

Irina, 02.09.05 14:21

Oh ... "he called himself a loader ..." okay, let's sift. Only when there is more time, okay?

Overton Publishing has released three books with audio CDs. "Alice in Wonderland", "The Little Mermaid" and "The Snow Queen". I've only bought the first one so far. There are illustrations by John Tenniel, which the author himself ordered for him.
And two others with illustrations by Boris Diodorov, for which the Danish queen gave him some kind of award.
On the disc, Alice, by the way, is voiced by Renata Litvinova

Frolova, 02.09.05 15:14

oh ... "he called himself a loader ..." okay, let's sift. Only when there is more time, okay?
Irina, don't burn me! How will it be free time maybe then...
Thank you!

Frolova
sorry, I don't know your name. We talk so much in topics, I don’t know the name
Du, I already tried to change my nickname to something more suitable, but the option that I asked for from the Observer is already on the forum. We need to come up with something else.
And in life my name is Natalia.

Irina, 04.09.05 01:22

in general, at first Polina "Alice" rejected. She only said to put the disc. So, while eating a melon, they listened to half a disk. In the evening, she nevertheless asked me to read "about Alice". This afternoon and at night they also continued to read and listened to the disc again. Falling asleep, the child said that he would also become big, "like Alice", he would be able to look at the mushroom and see the blue caterpillar

Irina, 07.09.05 03:27

I am crazy about this show. Especially when Quasi Turtle sings songs in the style of the early "Black Coffee"

Frolova, 08.09.05 16:30

And no one is going to the All-Russian Exhibition Center for a book fair, or maybe someone has already been? Maybe there is something new and interesting there ...
They say the prices are low.

Ariella, 19.10.05 05:22

yes ... Your intellectuals are growing ...
We have one classic for children. It's time to get formed. I'll go to the fair, otherwise my child will have to read "The Tale of the Stupid Mouse" until retirement.
Question.
And the books of Bianchi, Nosov, Gianni Rodari are now being republished at all? I haven't seen anything like this here.

Lenusik, 19.10.05 14:56

The nose is full. The only drawback is the lack of vivid illustrations in most books. And this at a fairly reasonable price. But I found a series where the stories are illustrated by och. Fine. But Dunno is read in black and white. There is also a series of books where Nosov's stories in thin editions are one story per book. There oh. bright illustrations. Plus there are chapters from the unknown. Good too.
radar is less common. Bianchi a lot of different things. I found a wonderful edition of three of his fairy tales. We still hate, tk. one mouse peak for an hour of reading somewhere pulls.

Frolova, 19.10.05 15:04

And the books of Bianchi, Nosov, Gianni Rodari are now being republished at all? I haven't seen anything like this here.
Reissued. I saw Nosov, and Binky, and Rodari. True, there are different publications. I saw Bianchi in a terrible performance - as if printed on low quality toilet paper.

Ariella, 19.10.05 16:06

girls, how long do you read on average? At me, directly, sometimes the tongue does not turn, so I get tired of reading aloud. But this is a must!

Darling, 19.10.05 18:58

Nelumbo nelumbo,
C. S. Lewis is Clive Staples Lewis? I didn’t know that he had such things ..... At one time, the “Balamut letters” made a stunning impression on me, an amazing book ...

Darling, 19.10.05 19:05

Ariella, we read, probably, about 20 minutes at a time ... Or one or two chapters.

I don’t remember if they remembered here - “tales of Uncle Remus” - a super thing! It reads well in any state - even with expression and roles, even in a semi-fainting ... when I get tired, sometimes I don’t understand what I’m reading, and the child is all in the book ...

Darling, 19.10.05 20:03

"About the pig Plukh":

Lenusik, 22.10.05 12:13

So, I can say for what we have. Other editions I do not know. Maybe someone else can advise.
We have Bisset "The Frog in the Mirror" for 74 rubles. I am satisfied: not too much and not too little. Exactly enough to get acquainted with creativity. I PERSONALLY like the illustrations. Well, it's a matter of taste. All in all, I like this series.
We have many books from her.

Our "Winnie the Pooh" is on the third page of your link. But it is not available. And thank God, because. they simply "forgot" to include a few chapters.
And just exactly above our other Winnie the Pooh:

A. Milne, B. Zakhoder
Winnie the Pooh and all
Hardcover (2003)
Rating: Rating: 5
Cost 233, 5th from top on 3rd page. I saw this. I kind of liked it. At least complete.

Livanov We have "Santa Claus and Summer". The one that is not in stock and which immediately costs 147 rubles. We are satisfied. True, although there are many illustrations, they are somehow dark, not bright in general. I think you can find better.

I did not look for our Pinocchio, but there is definitely nothing decent on the first page. IMHO.

Darling, 22.10.05 18:04

Pinocchio in classic style children's version"little text - a lot of pictures" made by Leonid Vladimirsky. He also illustrated the "Wizard of the Emerald City" and all the continuation .... Very pleasant.

Although now I saw on Ozone his own plot fantasies on the theme of these heroes - "Pinocchio in the Emerald City" here

Lisa, 22.10.05 18:33

Irina, and you mentioned the book "The Amazing Adventures of a Little Hedgehog" above. Where can you buy this book?

Do you have a favorite bookstore in Moscow to send to my mom?

Nelumbo nelumbo, 24.10.05 05:37

Lisa, I can’t advise the publishing house, see above.
Darling, special thanks for the link, I found an essay about. Yakov Krotov - that's how he "twisted"!

Ariella, 31.10.05 04:16

Girls, what do you think about Seton-Thompson? I remember being in love as a child. Does anyone have? What publisher?

Irina, 31.10.05 04:22

Marina, I buy books at the fair on Tulskaya, in the book rows. And I bought a book about a hedgehog in the bookstore of the Danilov Monastery

» Added later
and where, where is the link to the essay by O. Yakov Krotov?

Nelumbo nelumbo, 31.10.05 10:05

Yuliko, 31.10.05 14:50

Thank you girls, we bought some books, we are very satisfied ... I already don’t go to stores without a pre-compiled list ...
Here my daughter and I “wooled” the library (mine still), and found such a thin little book: “Forest Plakunchik” by Timofey Belozerov, Publishing House: Children's Literature, 1979.

Lena walked through the forest,
Tripped, fell
And to Grandpa Plakunchik
Came to visit.
Creaked amiably
Hut door…
In the corner on the ear
Drama frog.
Streamed behind the stove
The voice of the cricket
From the cracks of dry logs.
On the bench
A gray-haired old man like a harrier
Lena saw through her tears.
- What wilderness are you in
Rolled up, Yula! -
Plakunchik told her not strictly.
Well, come on in
Kohl came to cry
Why are you standing at the threshold?
Linen path -
Mushrooms and cloudberries.
In a thoughtful spruce forest
Turned the track…….

Well, this is what I remember .... Maybe someone knows, have you seen anything from this author?

Just Katrin, 11.11.05 21:47

Nelumbo nelumbo, when I read The Chronicles of Narnia to my own before going to bed, they fell asleep instantly and without question, apparently they didn’t understand anything, but they were quickly swayed

Nelumbo nelumbo, 12.11.05 00:44

Just Katrin, will grow up. You must have read a big book.

Ariella, 12.11.05 23:51

I bought a very good book here, in my opinion. "The best book for reading" from the publishing house "Eksmo" 2005. The sections in it are "Russian writers for children", "Poems and stories about nature", "About everything in the world". I really liked that there are a lot of classical Russian authors. This is convenient for me, we are unlikely to have complete collected works, I take into account that we live abroad, otherwise the child will at least get acquainted with classical verses and stories.
The quality is good, I am satisfied with the drawings.
And what about Seton-Thompson, no one will advise?

OLYA, 23.11.05 22:35

And we are without Bremen Town Musicians We can't live for 2 weeks!
And they even bought a cartoon!

Just Katrin, 23.11.05 22:49

Nelumbo nelumbo, yes, big

And we bought "Complete reader for preschoolers" in 2 volumes. There are also different sections. Ariella, plus questions at the end of stories in and fairy tales. It is recommended for reading in kindergarten, because. we don’t go to kindergarten, we really liked it

Anabella, 25.11.05 05:01

We have a lot of books, I'm a bibliomaniac and a bibliophile, so three rows of book polos from floor to ceiling and shelves in a bandage - and I still buy it anyway.
With children's books, however, I have had a stupor for some time now. I began to meticulously separate - where is the moral, whether it is necessary to read it at all. And somewhere, my son begins to ask me, and I understand that the book must be removed.
For example, with Dedeyo's beloved grandmothers, there is a disagreement. Try to explain why the woman stepped on the ice to rinse her clothes. And we ask Pushkin again through the word - the vocabulary is already completely incomprehensible. Therefore, "Fedorino Gore" was eliminated. fairy tales like "Morozko" I consider sadistic. And the tale "By pike command"Teaches only laziness. Yes, and the cruelty with which daddy-king put his daughter in a barrel is also frightening.
And recently my son asked me why my mother sent Little Red Riding Hood alone through the forest where wolves live. Did she not love her daughter? And then he said that Little Red Riding Hood had sore eyes, since she could not distinguish between a grandmother and a wolf.
Tales about Carloson or Peppy Long Stocking- generally strange, I think. In my childhood, Carlosnon only evoked disgust with his behavior. And so I came to the conclusion that not everyone is old classic fairy tales very good.
alas, with modern books it's tough right now too.

AlenaT, 25.11.05 10:05

girls, dark
We do not have. I saw it in the store, I wanted to buy it, but the edition is terrible - on newsprint

Anabella
I remember Kalson as a child, I was perplexed. However, I would read it to a child, you can discuss everything and the educational moment will also be about Pippi. Maybe your Herman is still small for them?

Lenusik, 25.11.05 12:50

Oh well, the theme of fairy tales has been raised more than once. And not in the same topic. I personally do not see anything terrible either in Emel or in Little Red Riding Hood. A lazy child will grow up if the example of the parents is appropriate, or he will be taken care of very much. And not because of a fairy tale. IMHO.
I don’t understand what can be puzzling about Carlson or Peppy? No, specifically? As a child, I simply burned Lingren. For humor, for interesting plot. If you are talking about morality, then it is there, although not pronounced. But I don't like imposed morality in children's books. And children, by the way, also feel it and oppose moralizing.
But this is my IMHO. I also adored Emil from Lenneberg. That's the kind of boy I wanted, but I'm just a brat myself, and the right well-bred children are not about me. I think that a child should be naughty and play pranks. IMHO.
"Fox Mickey's Diary" didn't work for us. But the truth is I tried a year ago. Maybe it was just too early. I really like it, it's funny.

AlenaT, 25.11.05 20:29

Lenusik I was sorry for the Kid when Carlson set him up

Lenusik, 26.11.05 00:52

No, well, it was SO much fun with him. And he delivered not from evil, and the Kid understood this and played along. This is kindly indulgence for the shortcomings of a friend. IMHO.

Nelumbo nelumbo, 26.11.05 03:08

AlenaT, so I want people to read here and think of something similar, look for sponsors, so that the library has a simple game corner from which it is impossible to steal eels (either "stationary", or chips are sewn into them, like in books).

Lenusik, 27.11.05 00:37

Nelumbo nelumbo, I don’t know how it is in Moscow, but in the provinces, you just can’t get rid of toys and a corner: there are no books. All books are donations of unreadable books from home libraries and old funds that modern children will not be interested in (my son can count on the fingers of the books that he agrees to listen to from my library with my husband. Because they are not colorful). Sad but true

Daisy, 12.12.05 06:01

Yuliko, the book "Forest Plakunchik" I recently discovered with my parents, with the inscription on the cover "Dear Rita on her 6th birthday" ... how I adored her as a child ...
There's also "Ogorodny grow up" and "Dvorovichok". All three verses-fairy tales are very kind and beautiful. My daughter now enjoys listening too.
By the way, Timofey Belozerov is an Omsk poet from my hometown.
Here is something about him.
"Collections of the 60s: "Grow up in the garden" (1962), "Taiga traffic light" (1962), "Nuts" (1968) include new genres focused on the folklore tradition: tongue twisters, counting rhymes, fables. In the lyrics of nature, the poet's observations are all more imbued with an endless desire to join her eternal secrets to comprehend the inner expediency of all things.
Thus, by the beginning of the 70s, that genre-thematic range was determined, in which the originality of artistic world T. Belozerova.
And it is no coincidence that the real take-off of T. Belozerov’s poetry falls precisely on the 70s, when one after another the collections “Among Green and Blue” (1970), “Pantry of the Wind” (1972), “Winter-winter” (1974), "Lark" (1978), prose miniatures "Mosquito Bun" (1973), "Sweet Cranberry" (1983). In numerous responses to these books, critics, as if by agreement, wrote that the poet had mastered some kind of poetic secret, that a reader of any age fell under the spell of his poetry.

Girls, here I once wrote about three fairy tales by Otfried Preusler - "Little Baba Yaga", "Little Ghost" and "Little Water". I like them so much ... re-reading them for the third time. And then I looked for something else by the same author, I came across stories about the Robber Hotzenplotz. Has anyone read? Is it too early for a 4 year old? And I think it's for older kids.
Arishka and I also love Sasha Cherny's poem about the dwarf Skrut.

- Who lives under the ceiling?
- Dwarf.
- Does he have a beard?
- Yes.
— And a shirt-front, and a waistcoat?
- No.
How does he get up in the morning?
- Myself.
- Who runs along the roofs with him?
- Mouse.
Who drinks coffee with him in the morning?
- Cat.
And how long has he been living there?
- Year.
"Well, what's his name?"
— Skrut.
- Is he naughty? Yes?
- Never.

Often we "play" him in roles just like that.
Who has read anything else interesting by the same author? What do you advise?

Lenusik, 13.12.05 22:44

Daisy, oh, and our grandmother on the DR just gave us about a little ghost and a merman. I didn’t find Baba Yaga (but we have a retelling). I have not read it yet, but now I will definitely try, since such reviews. Thank you!

Nika, 14.01.06 11:31

Wonderful topic
I started reading to Vlade "The Proboscis, nicknamed the Elephant" by Iko Maran (Estonian writer). I like the way it is written - the style is understandable for a child. And Vlad surprisingly listens. I highly recommend to moms. I read this book myself in elementary school. I saw its full version on the Internet - the same as our book, you can search.
We are planning to start reading Nosov and Tolstoy's Golden Key. Let's see how it goes. Vlad categorically refuses most of the fairy tales - it's not interesting

AlenaT, 16.01.06 13:46

Nelumbo nelumbo sorry, I didn’t understand why there is a play corner in the library and why toys are being dragged from there. I realized that the library is in the Sabbath school, but why toys? Tell me, please, I'm interested.

I finally bought Anya in Wonderland on Ozon. A free translation of Nabokov, and even with parallel English. I am immensely happy. I have already read it to my child.
Now we are reading "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by R. Dahl (this idea came to me because of the film - we have not seen the film). I liked it as a child, but I read, of course, not at the age of 5.5. So I don't know how to proceed. From the beginning, the child is delighted.

Talikoshka, 17.01.06 06:42

Nika, I found "The Elephant" on the Internet, started reading - Danka is delighted!
Thank you! And I had never heard of him before.
I want to print and make a book, there are even pictures.

Nelumbo nelumbo, 17.01.06 07:03

AlenaT, right now the computer is loaded for the most reluctant, I will later look for photos of the play corners in the children's sections of the libraries. In all the countries where we have lived, children's sections are furnished differently from adults. There are low chairs, tables, poufs, cushions to sit on, big toys to sit on like poufs. There may be all sorts of toys. In our district library there is a small wooden "locker" with glove puppets - puppet show. There is an imposing dragon pouffe; a table with a toy railroad and a "box" table with toys (i.e. the toys are under a fixed plexiglass cover, they can be seen but cannot be taken out), which move with the help of magnets when the magnets (they are tied) are moved under the tabletop. There is a board with pimples on the Lego principle hanging on the wall, plastic squares with letters are attached there. IN central library there is no theater or tables with toys, there are laces and an alphabet on the wall. Children play there, and when they want, they come to their parents, they read to them. While the children are playing, parents can read something of their own. This is very a good place to hide in bad weather.
She described, remembered that not everything was filmed with us. You need to shoot, hang here.
And in the parish church, we just have a simple library, similar to an adult, and I read books in a group, and not in a library.

Nelumbo nelumbo, 21.01.06 01:04

Here is one of the photographic cards. Library next to the house.

AlenaT, 23.01.06 15:52

Nelumbo nelumbo thanks for the answer! How interesting! Maybe if our libraries had such corners, we would more people went there. True, our assortment in libraries also suffers - there are almost no new products. And I thought - here comes a child to the library, and there are toys, something to distract him

Anna Khrustaleva, 31.01.06 02:32

On our bookshelves, perhaps, there has never been such a variety of children's literature as now. Here and Russian classics, and foreign, and fairy tales, and adventures, and fantasy! Parents who are serious about raising children naturally try to read more to them: fiction has a huge impact on the soul of a child ... »»

I saw such a book today, such a book ... stunned, what a beauty of Ukrainian author, artist and publishing house. Ivan Malkovich "Lisa and her dreams." Illustrations by Evgenia Gapchinskaya.300 rubles. Great, great book
____________________________________________________________________________

A fabulously informative story about a girl who, with the help of wings invented by Leonardo da Vinci, visited the workshops the greatest masters world painting - from Botticelli to Dali.

The author of the illustrations is Evgenia Gapchinska, one of the most popular Ukrainian painters, a graduate of the Kharkov art institute, trainee at the Nuremberg Academy of Painting. Her work is featured in museums European countries and private collections of many famous connoisseurs and artists: from Luciano Pavarotti to...
"Lisa and her dreams" is the artist's debut in a children's book.

Irina, 31.01.06 23:29

I was still a little upset when I bought Dunno in the Stone City. It turned out that this was some kind of Igor Nosov. Moreover, his books are on the same shelf with Nikolai Nosov. Such a blizzard ... and the style is completely non-Nosovian. It was a shame. case, unpleasant

Frolova, 01.02.06 00:28

I saw such a book today, such a book ... stunned, what a beauty of Ukrainian author, artist and publishing house. Ivan Malkovich "Lisa and her dreams." Illustrations by Evgenia Gapchinskaya.300 rubles. Great, great book
Irina, the same publisher has another cool book"The Snow Queen". By the way, on book fair at the All-Russian Exhibition Center (which was in the fall), these books could be for 80 rubles. buy.

Irina, 01.02.06 04:19

and ... is it with illustrations by V. Yerko? I see it in stores. I’ll also buy it. In general, a very interesting publishing house is this Ukrainian A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-GA. I looked through some more of their books. Everything is so worthy and with good taste. They some new ones I haven't heard before

Darling, 03.02.06 04:49

We have this publishing house "tales of foggy Albion". There is a knight there who looks like Putin.
Very beautiful books. But I didn’t buy them the “snow queen” - for me it’s too much .... well, in the sense of illustration - very much some kind of “colorful”

And this "Lisa" is just wonderful.
But the price is somewhere around 300 ... isn't it expensive?

Irina, 03.02.06 04:53

yes, it’s clear that it’s expensive, Alain. But I’ll buy it anyway

Irina, 18.02.06 02:31

Alain, and I liked the illustrations for the Snow Queen so much ... well, this is how Brueghel is

IMHO, inspired, in part, by the works of Brueghel, in terms of attention to detail, but too far from him.

I read Temko, went to the bookstore yesterday. I bought a collection of Nosov's stories "Mishkina porridge", but for some reason I did not find there all the stories that I remember from childhood. Then I'll have to look for and buy the missing ones. I also bought small books of stories and fairy tales by Zhitkov and Bianka. Now it is the turn of Dragunsky and Mamin-Sibiryak.

In general, he loves "Winnie the Pooh", for the third time I re-read it - I read to him a little before going to bed.

natashkin, 17.03.06 13:51

Dear, there are also collections "Dreamers" and "Entertainers". Unfortunately, some stories overlap. I have a small "Mishkina porridge" and "Entertainers" - large format. In my experience, not always the child understands humor. This is for kids 5-6 years old rather. I'm almost 5 and started laughing at them recently. He used to laugh when he saw me giggling. "Deniska's stories" do not go at all, he diligently listens to them, but he himself will never choose this book to read.
As for "Winnie the Pooh" - he can listen simply endlessly, he has already re-read it 3-4 times. It seems to me that in the same vein, Tove Janson's "Magician's Hat" (about the Moomin trolls), mine listened with great pleasure. But "Magic Winter" did not go.

Daisy, 18.03.06 03:57

We started "Mummey-Trolls", namely - "Comet", in my opinion, that's what it's called.
Something is somehow complicated for a 4 year old ... In principle, my daughter likes it, but she understands little of what she read.
In parallel, we read "Pippi Longstocking" - this is the thing! And it's perfect for this age!

Mine doesn't understand much either. And he liked the Moomintrolls - both the comet and the winter.

We recently finished R. Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Charlie and the Giant Glass Elevator" and "James and the Giant Peach".

Now we are reading Otfried Preusler's "The Little Ghost and Other Tales". Here in Temko I read about him, as a child I somehow missed him (I only remember cool cartoons and about the Witch, it seems, there was a film, I really liked it). Thank you, girls, fairy tales are wonderful, kind, easy to understand.

The child said that the next item on the program would be to reread Mary Poppins

Ariella, 19.03.06 16:53

Girls, but on TV A film for children they show #Adventures of Karik (or whatever it is # and get out of it #. How the children, having drunk a mixture, became midgets and their adventures began in this huge mit. I remember reading this book as a child and loved it very much. Who wrote it?
And what exactly is it called, does anyone remember?

Foil, 19.03.06 20:55

Ian Larry "The Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Vali".

Ariella, 19.03.06 22:46

Foil,
Thank you! I wonder if it's re-released now?

Lenusik, 20.03.06 00:45

And can anyone "point" at "Emil from Lenniberg"? Have you seen it for sale at all? And other Lingren books interest me. I loved her very much as a child, and now only Carlson and Peppy come across.
I made a list here to bribe, at the same time I distributed it to my grandmothers so that they would not buy any nonsense. But, I feel, I will have to replenish again And they also say that the children have nothing to read now

Ariella, 20.03.06 00:54

Lenusik,
Didn't Lindgren write about a family with 8 children? I remember reading this as a child! there they had a small apartment, and subsequently they moved into a house, and a green van. The relationship in the family and friendship between brothers and sisters were well described there.

I read about Emil, a cool thing, you have to look.

I think I saw it. In "Biblio-Globus" on Lubyanka. Series bound in brown with gold embossing, Astrid Lindgren " complete collection works" in 10 volumes. Books are sold separately. I think there are also book fairs (on Tulskaya, for example).

native, 21.03.06 21:08

natashkin, on the contrary, we have "Mishkina porridge" in a large format and thick, but there are no more than one, two stories. On the very first day, he made me re-read the story of the same name 2 times - I liked it, but, of course, does not understand humor

About Moomin, it seems to me that it won’t work, but you can try, somewhere there is a book, mine is still. By the way, I didn't like them when I was a kid.

Ahh, how I loved this book as a child. Yegora read excerpts in some kind of children's anthology (ugh, disgusting, some pieces from here, then from here it would be better if they printed less, but completely). Is she for Anna-Katrina Westley now on sale?

I also liked Emil as a child. As is Pippi. I also need to write a list for my grandmothers

It's funny, I remembered in connection with Emil. I had girlfriends in childhood, their mother worked as a teacher and loved to read. I collected a cool library of children's literature for the girls (and it was difficult in the distant 80s). So, they didn't read anything at all, the only user was me Lindgren was presented in full.

And today I bought Russian fairy tales about animals, as well as Carlson with drawings, as in our cartoon. Satisfied. Carlson began to read - the child likes it!

rosebud,
ABYDNA! I bought a child a primer, N.S. Zhukova. The child makes me read: Ma-ma we-la Mi-lu. She likes it, and I start talking like a robot: Ma-we have two daughters: Na-o-mi and Oh-yes-me.
And Carlson somehow doesn’t go very well with us ... Why - I don’t know. She doesn't have the patience to listen to a chapter at night. What to do? Read by page??? Other serious books won't work like that at all, or what???

Nelumbo nelumbo, 10.04.06 21:16

Here, on the weekend with my daughter, they processed Ivan Malkovich's "Lisa and her dreams". The book is not ours, and left there, where it was processed. The general impression is pasitiff. The illustrations could have been done with a more confident hand (although I know where this style comes from: Europeans now illustrate children's books in this way, but in the New World the style is somewhat different), but the book is humane and intellectual to the best of its ability. I highly recommend!

Ariella don't stress. Read as much as the audience perceives. Maybe in the evening she gets tired - then you can read during the day.

I bought Blaginin's children: good, bright verses, but a little, hmm, rustic. But how I love the classic: #Let's sit in silence#. Satisfied with the purchase.
I also bought #Russian folk tales about animals#, in a normal presentation, with good pictures. Also satisfied.
The kids love everything.

People, we once talked about Zhitkov's "What I saw" here. I got the text and illustrations from Moshkov, they are there in a separate file. Put all the illustrations in right places(two days killed). So now I have full text available. We have already printed it, pricked holes, sewed it with a binder and are reading it. The drawings are black and white, but I like them.

I can try to send it, although the file weighs a lot. Right now, I'll try to hang it here

Aku-Aku,

We are here once about Zhitkov "What I saw"

How I loved this book

Aku-Aku, 25.05.06 19:43

rosebud, yeah, despite the fact that now someone there is certainly some kind of ideological " not that"looks, beautiful book. Indeed, an encyclopedia of children's lives.

I’ll be glad if it’s useful to someone, it’s being published so barbarously now. They cut not only pieces, but even individual sentences and paragraphs in chapters.

rosebud, 25.05.06 21:21

I don't want to look for anything there - a beautifully written book. In general, I love Zhitkov - he wrote simply, accessible, "deliciously".

marinaki, 01.06.06 00:05

girls, can i ask you a question? my goat is not yet 3, but she loves to listen to books. we have a lot of things, scara a package with new books will come, the question is this. at what age does a child stop paying more attention to the content than to the picture? When will it be possible to switch to more meaningful books? otherwise we have Carlson, and Vinnie and Prostokvashino going there ..

Talikoshka, 01.06.06 01:22

at what age does a child stop paying more attention to the content than to the picture?
marinaki, as I understand it, you wanted to ask - when starts? I think about two.
I looked - your daughter is not only not three, but she just turned two. And rightly so, Carlson and sour milk are coming - early, early!
According to Chukovsky (and I believe unconditionally), a child from two to five is characterized by amazing verse receptivity and talent. IMHO, you should not miss this time, on the contrary, you need to use it to its fullest. And read as much as possible good poetry. And good for small child first of all, precisely those that "suppose" illustrations, since he thinks for the most part in images, not in words. For example, the very beginning of "Cockroach" (we count the number of possible illustrations):

Bears rode on a bicycle (1),
And behind them the cat - backwards (2),
And behind him mosquitoes balloon (3)
And behind them crayfish on a lame dog (4),
Wolves on a mare (5), lions in a car (6),
Bunnies in a tram (7), a toad on a broomstick (8).

Or "Moydodyr":
The blanket ran away (1), the sheet flew away (2),
And the pillow, like a frog, jumped away from me (3), etc.

So it is very important that the book is well illustrated.
In general, I probably stated it boringly (it is better to read "From Two to Five"), but it seems to me that this is correct.

marinaki, 01.06.06 12:44

Talikoshka, my Lenka just doesn’t really like Chukovsky .. only Fedora, The Stolen Sun and Moidodyr-Aibolit (which she listens to and herself tells without a book). she likes to listen to fairy tales and poems, but if the picture does not take up at least half of the page, it makes no sense to start reading, she starts scrolling to the picture. those. We still have text + necessarily a picture. so I wanted to ask when the ratio would be not 50-50, but at least 70-30 (text-picture). I'm sorry I'm loading
but in general, we now have only Marshak from Russians with a bang, but they have already read him to the holes and both Lena and I know the whole book by heart. the rest is Greek (and I soooo don’t want to read Greek books to her, our dad is turned on for this). so I’m worried, I even tried to translate and “read” Greek books in Russian to her, but she understands that it is written in Greek and demands to read, and not translate

Talikoshka, 01.06.06 16:21

marinaki, I brought Chukovsky not as a guide to action, but as an example of "illustrative" poetry. Of course, if you don't like it, you don't have to force it. There are many good children's poems and besides it. But the fact that a child at this age considers pictures mandatory is normal and good. I don't think you should rush things. My daughter is 3.6, but she is very interested in pictures, in the middle of a line she can get distracted and start looking at the illustration, commenting on it in detail. I don't interrupt because I don't think it's bad.

Anchovy, 14.06.06 06:24

When will it be possible to switch to more meaningful books? otherwise we have Carlson, and Vinnie and Prostokvashino going there ..

Marinaki, this is very individual, children are different. My 3.5, we have already read Prostokvashino and Winnie the Pooh several times. We are currently reading The Wizard of the Emerald City. In Prostokvashino, by the way, there are quite a lot of pictures in the edition that we read. There are many more pictures in the poems of Yunna Moritz.

lucia, 14.06.06 09:34

We had an old primer lying around in our dacha, the one we were still studying and Mishka liked it very much and he is already trying to read it. I, inspired by this case, yesterday was in a bookstore and bought books for Mishka for 1000 rubles. I went straight to the first-graders section and bought: Natural History (textbook + workbook), art for grade 1, history for grade 1, a poster on all types of transport, books with stickers about different breeds of dogs and about different cars, etc. At first I carefully studied all these books: they are all with many pictures and with different interesting tasks: colorize, cut out, make crafts, etc. So let's get busy. In general, the time of fairy tales with us fade into the background. And I also liked the map of our country, where it is drawn in detail what peoples live, what animals, etc. I will buy next time.

marinaki, 14.06.06 23:45

girls, books have arrived, but there is such a normal Winnie the Pooh, but there are no stories based on which cartoons were shot (Soviet) in the book. Crocodile Gena in the modern version, with a cell phone, terrible text and no less terrible pictures, Prostokvashino is also a continuation that I did not like at all. in general, I was very upset, only Brownie Kuzya, we liked the collection of texts of Entin's songs.

Lelya, 15.06.06 21:05

marinaki, it's a shame, of course, if there is no way to look through a book, there is always a chance to get something like that ...

Nelumbo nelumbo, 16.06.06 20:29

marinaki, Vinnie from the Soviet cartoon is very different from the original Milnov hero. In general, the speech in the book is a bit like Telepuzovskaya, with all these bearish sighs.
And the newest creations of Ouspensky are a murderous slipper! You have to be so hard on the kids!

marinaki, 16.06.06 23:50

Nelumbo nelumbo, it's a shame for Uspensky. and in general for just such a "felling of attendants" in children's literature. I was especially impressed by the piece from Prostokvashino, where Matroskin and Sharik are arguing, they say who will call whom (tiger, lion and other animals) to kill the opponent, and then Uncle Fedov comes and says "and my dad has such a will ask "I liked Winnie. he is just in the style of our Greek Tirvizas. it’s just that my daughter was really looking forward to those stories, but they weren’t in the book.

Anchovy, 17.06.06 07:32

marinaki Who sent you books? Grandparents or did you order online?

Darling, 17.06.06 12:25

lucia, 20.06.06 08:34

Darling Yes, indeed, the decoration is excellent.

By the way, I tried the purchased books for the 1st grade on Mishka, he liked them very much, and most importantly, there is at least some control over the textbooks, otherwise now everyone publishes and is not too lazy, sometimes such nonsense, especially numerous alphabets with poems of self-taught poets.

Speaking of books. Recently I was horrified. Grandma wanted to give a book, Bought and crying. I was led by the fact that the content contains many fairy tales and all known and loved since childhood. She opened it and began to read. Retelling for degenerates. From original text remained the plot stated in primitive language. AND EVERYTHING! Well, at least they took the book back to the store, otherwise it’s a pity for 250 rubles.
Now, before I buy a book, I look at what they write.

Ru, 01.08.06 23:22

Maybe they already wrote here, but Miron just fell in love with Sven Nurdqvist's books about Petson and Findus
What are the illustrations?
And after all, this is immediately evident - the author wrote so that there was something to draw (not badly written, but SO drawn)

Anna, 02.08.06 13:13

Just last week I saw these books in the store, it’s a pity I had already spent the money by that time. I will buy it for sure. The illustrations are amazing and the paper is great. I take it this is a series of stories? How many are there?

And I want to recommend to everyone the book by Irina and Leonid Tyukhyaev "Zoki and Bada" http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/22769...type=4#comments

The text is mercilessly distorted, as it is now called, adapted. It's disgusting to read. There are no chapters as such, so it’s inconvenient to read, because you can’t read the whole book in one evening. But there are many pictures. The child likes it, but I don't. I do not like such castrated works.

Darling, 28.08.06 19:23

Samara, rather, it is not edited by Vladimirsky, but illustrations by Vladimirsky. This famous artist, and in this edition, indeed, all the content is in pictures. This is still a long-standing Soviet version of Pinocchio.

Interested. The bustard publishing house has released (is releasing?) the most luxurious series "Tales from around the world"
At first I bought "Two greedy little bears. Tales of Eastern European countries" And then it turned out that the series is much larger!
More bought
The Golden King: German Folk Tales
Three Oranges: Italian Folk Tales
Magic brush: Japanese, Chinese, Korean folk tales
English folk tales. Jack the Giant Slayer

Nothing disappointed. The illustrations are good, the publication is pleasant, the tales are interesting, from the point of view of geographical science, again, it’s easier for a child to explain about Japan, or Italy .... In short, we read with pleasure.

QUOTE (AlenaT @ Sep 11, 2006 04:19 AM)

I saw some books about the adventures of an ancient boy. Unfortunately I don't remember the title or the author. Nobody read?

How ancient? Maybe these are the books of Paola Utevskaya? She wrote a lot of history for children. She has interesting book about the development of writing, but this is at least for junior schoolchildren: The book has a lot of text and few illustrations. I look at my daughter, she can perceive more complex things, but everything needs to be in pictures (we take English, or rather, it is international, DK publishing house for teenagers - everything is OK).

AlenaT, 19.09.06 03:53

Nelumbo nelumbo, in my opinion, not Utevskaya. Stone Age there, like. I'll try to stop by one of these days to look more precisely, maybe I'll buy one for a test.

AlenaT, 20.09.06 05:10

Here I bought yesterday - Luciano Malmusi "Neanderthal boy at school and at home." All other books about him, apparently, were sorted out. We started reading yesterday. The beginning is like nothing. Speech on behalf of a Neanderthal boy, the life of the Neanderthals is described, apparently, close to the real. I don't know how it will go on.

The child liked the description of the boy's father:
"Papa Big Hand is very handsome. A real Neanderthal - when he came to other camps, everyone stared at him. Fat, like a musk bull, humpbacked like a bison; his back is round, and his arms are so long that they raked the ground. And his face how expressive! There was almost no forehead, and the superciliary arches protruded so forward that when it rained, he did not even close his eyes. Mouth to the ears, huge, with thick lips; and nose - oh, his nose was the most beautiful in the world: broad, flattened, hairy."

The author of the book "The Snail and the Whale" is Donaldson. He has some absolutely charming tales in verse about the Gruffalo. We now have the Gruffalo as our favorite character.

Aku-Aku, Yesterday, 18:33

People, and I experienced such a severe disappointment from the "Snow Queen" A-Ba-Ba-Ga-La-Ma-Gi. With difficulty I got it here in Russian (they sell it in Ukrainian), and there is a cut, crippled text, not just pieces (paragraphs), but separate phrases from sentences are cut out. Terrible blunders and flaws in translation (I wouldn’t be surprised if they translated back from Ukrainian). In one place (when the Snow Queen Kai was carrying) something like "a big month hung over them, some kind (I don't remember) and a big one." I almost threw my skates away from grief from this "big" two times. Somewhere else in the text - just a typo. And we only read this up to the old sorceress. I looked through the entire book from all angles - nowhere does it say that the translation is abbreviated.

I get sick, I just get sick from these things. We also bought "The Little Mermaid" and "The Snow Queen" with illustrations by Diodorov and a CD. There, at least, they admit that "The Snow Queen" is printed in abbreviated form. The translation is said to be the same Hansen as in the case of "A-ba-ba-ha-la-ma-gi", but the text is significantly different. Month only once "big" and otherwise more decent. But again, pieces are cut out. It's cruel and I don't know why.

I no longer have the strength to look at it all. After all, it was a promoted edition, and Diodorov, in turn, received prizes for his illustrations from the hands of someone there (the Danish queen?), why not publish the book normally?

It is difficult to unequivocally answer the question of which books are better to read with a three-year-old baby, because children even at this age not only have different interests, but also differ from each other. intellectual development. Someone is already able to assimilate fairly long stories and novels, someone is not even interested in short stories and poetry.

How do children perceive books at 3 years old?

As a rule, different perception of books by three-year-old children depends on several factors:

  • How much the child is used to spending time with parents and what are the benefits of joint classes with mom and dad for the baby
  • To what extent is the child mentally prepared to read books?
  • How much parents tried to instill in their child a love of reading.

Situations are different, as well as the degree of readiness of the child to read together. Important for parents do not compare your child with others(“Zhenya is already listening to Pinocchio, and mine is not even interested in Turnip”), but remember that each child has his own pace of development. But this does not mean that parents should give up and just wait until the child wants to. In any case, you need to deal with the baby, starting with short rhymes, funny fairy tales. At the same time, the main goal should not be to “master” a certain amount of literature, but do everything to instill in your child an interest in reading.

Why should a child read?

With the development of modern technology, one can often hear the question: “Why should a child read?” Of course, both a TV and a computer with developing programs are not a bad thing. But they still cannot be compared with a book read by parents, primarily for the following reasons:

  • educational moment: mom or dad, while reading a book, focuses the child's attention on the episodes that are important in the educational plan for their baby;
  • Communication with parents, in which not only the child's attitude to the world around is formed, but also the ability to communicate with other people;
  • Formation of the emotional sphere: the reaction to the intonations of the reading parent's voice helps to form the child's ability to empathize, nobility, the ability to perceive the world on a sensory level;
  • Development of fantasy and literate speech, expanding horizons.

What do psychologists say?

Of course, each kid is individual, and his perception of reading books will be individual. However, psychologists distinguish several general recommendations, which will help parents make joint reading not only enjoyable, but also productive:

  • Reading books to a child pay special attention to intonation, facial expressions, gestures: at the age of three, the child is not so much interested in the plot as in the actions and experiences of the acting characters, the baby learns to respond correctly to life situations.
  • Clearly identify good and bad deeds in a fairy tale, highlight good and bad heroes . At the age of three, the child clearly divides the world into black and white, and with the help of a fairy tale, the kid now understands life, learns to behave correctly.
  • Poetry is an important element in joint reading. They develop speech, expand lexicon child.
  • Among the huge variety of books in stores, not all are suitable for the baby. When choosing a book, pay attention to does the book carry a moral load, is there an instructive subtext in the book. It is best to buy already tested, well-proven books.

My son loves all sorts of spider bugs. We decided to try to read him a fairy tale about an ant who was in a hurry to go home.
