Fun museums for kids. Conceptual foundations of the program

08.03.2019

This museum is unique primarily because it was the first in our country to adopt advanced interactive developments. Many children here are allowed to touch and try "by the tooth" - and this makes them genuinely delighted. During the year, the museum manages to visit more than 30 thousand children from all over Russia.

Everyone finds a spectacle to their liking here. Someone admires the exposure " Stone Age» with a site of ancient people and artifacts from excavations. Someone immediately falls in love with the "Starorusskaya school", where not only the color of a rural pre-revolutionary school is reproduced in the smallest detail, but there is even a stove with a cast iron - this is how "hot meals" were once organized in Rus'. And someone simply cannot stop admiring the hall "Visiting great-grandmother" with the interior of the children's room of the late XIX-early XX centuries.

But there is also " fun fair”, where toys from different materials- from straw to wood, and "Walk in the Old City", where the streets and inhabitants of old Vladimir are recreated in great detail, and much, much more.

Museum of the History of Chocolate and Cocoa "MISHKA", Moscow

What child doesn't like sweets? Your sweet tooth is guaranteed to be delighted with visiting the “sweet museum”, and will also learn and remember a lot of informative and unusual things. After all, the most modern multimedia space and unique historical exhibits coexist peacefully in MISHK, which are unlikely to be seen anywhere else.

Children will learn about the properties of chocolate, which have long been called "magic", about how it affects mood and health, and about the achievements of sweet cooking. Young visitors will get on the ship of the conquistadors, who once carried an invaluable cargo to the metropolis, ride on a “time carriage” through those geographical places where chocolate was popular, look into a real laboratory where cocoa beans grow. Of course, tasting will not be complete either – in the factory workshop, small visitors not only observe the process of making chocolate, but also taste it.

Judging by the reviews on the Internet, guests of the museum literally “smell” the atmosphere of a sweet holiday already at the entrance - after all, animal figures and chocolate paintings are presented in the lobby. The most important of them is the Bear weighing about 100 kg. Initially, it was smaller, but noticeably "grew up" in the process of constant restoration. After all, visitors now and then break off pieces from the sculpture, and the museum staff try to “not notice” this ...

Museum of Russian Superstitions, Curonian Spit

Near Kaliningrad there is an amazing town - getting here, not only children, but also adults begin to believe that they really found themselves in a fairy tale. Framed beautiful nature the park is located wooden sculptures and the building of the Museum of Russian Superstitions.

The artist has been studying Russian folklore for a long time and seriously, and here you can not only show your children the goblin or the Serpent Gorynych, but also the bastard, hairy, woolly, basilisk and other now forgotten characters of legends and popular beliefs. And if you can’t identify them, it doesn’t matter either: each sculpture has its own “passport”, which says what kind of character it is and what it is famous for.

The curators of the museum also acquaint everyone with popular folk omens. For example, guests are offered to stand in the doorway for a minute under a hammered ax in order to “gain health”. They say that this ancient Slavic omen still works ...

Museum of Happy Childhood, Kazan

This museum is the first in Russia dedicated to the childhood of the USSR era. And modern children from the very first minutes begin to recklessly sort out toys, books, clothes and other things that their parents once used. So if you feel the need to explain to your child the world in which you spent your childhood, best place can not found.

In this original museum - two floors, packed full of all sorts of things. The first floor is dedicated school years with all their paraphernalia. You can touch any object with your hands - and look through the primer, and open the pencil case with the Olympic bear, and twist the globe, and blow into the pioneer horn, and sit down at the old desk. The second floor is a retrospective of the life of a Soviet child. Here are collected items that accompanied each new "citizen of the USSR" from his birth to leaving the army or entering the institute.

By the way, many celebrities “born in the USSR” donate their things to the museum. For example, the exposition presents Sergei Shnurov's shabby schoolbag: heavy, "indestructible", which was so good to move down the hill in winter.

Iron Museum, Pereslavl-Zalessky

Specialized museums of everyday life in Lately a lot has been opened in our country, and this is not surprising - in antiques there is some special attraction and warmth, so such places are visited with pleasure by people of the most different ages. And among the best, the Iron Museum in Pereslavl-Zalessky is most often called.

This private museum, which contains a unique collection of vintage irons. The story of the museum curator is not a monologue, but a lively conversation with the guests. And everyone is quickly included in this conversation - from small to large. Children are especially happy when they manage to answer this or that question correctly. The museum's collection also abounds with other ancient household items that are of great interest to visitors.

And this museum also teaches people… to smile. Funny inscriptions are hung everywhere that make you admire the sense of humor of employees. For example, this inscription was most liked by one grandmother who visited the museum with her grandchildren: “Everything breaks: feelings, people, irons ... Especially the iron upset me: I didn’t expect it from him!”

Museum-theater "Magic Primer", Moscow

The Primer Museum in Moscow is designed for children from two years old. And it makes an indelible impression on older preschoolers and schoolchildren, because it is not just an exhibition, but an educational interactive space. The famous art historian Nikolai Bertram laid the foundation for the unique collection of the Toy Museum even before the 1917 revolution. However star status does not prevent the museum from keeping up with the times and attracting more and more generations of children to Sergiev Posad. Many, having been here as a child with their parents, return on an excursion with their little toy specialists.

And this is not at all surprising - after all, it is here that you can find out what the toys of the royal dynasty were like, what peasant children played in Rus' and how the toy changed with the advent of Soviet power. And also get acquainted with the traditional folk puppet crafts of the villages of Bogorodsky and Sergiyev Posad, compare the famous Russian nesting doll with its prototype - a Japanese wooden doll, admire the huge variety of toys from the most various countries and epochs.

The museum also hosts exciting workshops. You can make an authentic rag doll on them yourself or paint a wooden figurine.

It's great that special museums were invented for children, where you can run, crawl, make noise, touch everything with your hands and play. And parents at this time may not worry at all that an angry museum employee will now appear and will make comments to them. The first children's museum was created already in 1899 - in Brooklyn, New York. Now you can find such museums in many major European and American cities. And today Ekaterina Lighter will tell us about the most interesting children's museums in the world.

Sunday afternoon with my sister
We left the yard.
"I'll take you to the museum!" —
My sister told me.

Why do we take a child to a museum? The first reason is obvious - so that he learns something new. I saw what I read or heard about, understood the structure and functioning of complex systems, whether human body, the movement of the planets or the theory of evolution, in which case we mean, first of all, natural science museums.

For art museums, reasons of a different kind come to the fore - we want to show the child the richness and diversity of culture and its material manifestations, develop his aesthetic taste, perhaps share our experience of meeting the beautiful, that is, in the end, we turn not only to not so much to the mind of the child, but to his inner, spiritual world.

But a child, especially a small child, cognizes the world around him mainly through action, through play. A rare baby will be able to withstand a tour of art gallery, where the guide, even if very magnified, talks about the dates of life and artistic directions. Or he doesn’t get bored in the museum-estate, where the exhibits are hidden behind glass and fenced with a rope - they are not something to touch, it’s scary to look at them carefully, they are so valuable and fragile. But if you allow each visitor to sit on a chair famous writer or leaf through the famous manuscript, touch antique statue, then nothing will remain of these exhibits very quickly, as museum workers, teachers, and parents have always fairly explained to us.

So how do you show the kids works of art? How to interest, how to teach behind the form to see the inner content of the subject, to touch inner world the author, thereby revealing his own, enter into a dialogue with past eras and other cultures? How to talk to a child about culture and art?

This question is trying to answer, and I must say, quite successfully, the pedagogy of art.

Educators see one of their most important tasks in making museums accessible and understandable to the youngest visitors, in developing programs so that museums are of interest to both parents and children.

Indeed, despite the development modern technologies, despite all the new means of disseminating information, museums remain important centers of cultural and educational life. In addition to material assets, works of art, evidence of the life of other peoples and eras, it is also a special atmosphere, rich experience that can have a significant impact on the formation of a person's personality.

To make this experience as accessible as possible for children, purely cognitive methods, even specially adapted for different age groups, should be supplemented by practical tasks that require the active participation of the child, personal understanding of the exhibits, living various situations, trying on certain images or roles.

For example, Children's Museum House family traditions, whose teachers develop their programs based on these principles, during a tour of the Museum of patrons, entrepreneurs and philanthropists, they offer the child not only to inspect the halls of the museum, but to choose among the exhibits a portrait or photograph of a woman who could be related to his family, which he, perhaps I would like to see her as a distant relative, family friend, great-grandmother, who left a chest with valuable and memorabilia for her grandchildren.

In such a task there is no competition, there are no right or wrong answers. Children fantasize, invent stories, remember their family habits, traditions, find, first of all for themselves, answers to important questions: what can be interesting for me in another person, what qualities I like in my loved ones, how appearance guess internal features a person, what objects from ancient times I would like to receive from previous generations, and many, many others.

If we are not talking about unique exhibits and works of art, but about household items, then great importance given the opportunity not only to examine them, but also to touch, try to put such objects into practice. The child himself, relying on his experience, intuition or fantasy, tries to guess what this or that exhibit could be used for. And assumptions, attempts at reasoning here are no less important and interesting than the correct answer.

What is this ring for? Silver, elegant. Narrow for a bracelet. For a wide ring. Not suitable for a child. Twisted, tried on. Napkin ring.

The experience when several channels of perception can be involved at once is very interesting. For example, a certain object is hidden in a bag and first it must be felt through the fabric.

What is this? Elongated, embossed, most likely iron, if you knock even through the bag, the sound is definitely not wooden. Iron? Glass?

The next stage, we feel without a bag, but with eyes closed. Like metal, smooth but carved.
We look. Similar to cutlery, silver. Very intricate shape. Turns out it's a ham holder.

Of particular importance is the opportunity to make something with your own hands, something material, related to the theme of the excursion or the museum, something that you can then take with you.

This is a completely different, very important level for the child to understand the situation. Do something yourself.

If we study the history of writing, we ourselves take a pen, dip it in an inkwell, write with ink in an album, which we then take home. We examine the paintings of the Impressionists - we try to paint with small separate strokes, paying attention to the subtlest shades of color. We are going on an excursion to Barcelona - we collect a small mosaic of multi-colored pieces in the spirit of Gaudí. Such an experience will be remembered in a completely different way than any lecture, picture or, for example, an educational film.

Summing up, I would like to say that going to a museum for a child can be a useful, interesting and enjoyable experience. There are museums and teachers who will be happy to help us turn the excursion into a bright and memorable event, but even if there are no such teachers nearby, we can take matters into our own hands - look at the world through the eyes of a child, become interested in what is interesting to him, talk with him with his language - the language of play, action, movement and fantasy.
